Polished RA, updating the heck out of it and getting majority of games to run even the hard to emulated cores like GC or PSP.

So far everything went good and runs at top speed. Was a little hazzle to get psp to run with the asset folders and what not original fonts.

Wii emulation is almost shit, wii u emulation is pure shit, gc emulation is so 50/50. I am sure RetroArch could handle them well if there was a better support for those cores but i guess emu devs are way too much full of themselve which might not end with the high horse behavior at retorarch.

Fucking sillicon valley.

If anyone needs help with cemu or yuzu, let me know. vulkan has no shader cache in yuzu, so stuttering is frequent and expected, opengl works better at consistency as of now unless you have modern specs, but reshade has issues with opengl if you use it. I haven't tried emulating PSP on a PC but a PSP is a worthy purchase if you want something portable. In terms of value per dollar they are pretty much unmatched in the handheld department; maybe a 2ds could come close if you got it cheap. I guess the best way to decide between the two would be whether you want to play PSP and PSX games or DS and 3DS games.

Things I can do on Switch: play Switch exclusives

Now I don't know how well the homebrew scene is doing on Switch front, I've heard you can no longer crack it with a paperclip. I've talked to a Switch owner recently who got his cracked and now he can't access his virtual console library.

I don't play games on the go. I'm not a child. Also handhelds have terrible screens, barren the vita but all its games boil down to inferior counterparts (graphically and gameplay wise) of their ps2 equivalents.

>>16939221

Sure bud.

>>16939248

Because Emulation is better than locked down hardware. It's never been about the price. It's about improving ones experience. Also it's free as in freedom. And consoles are just you buying a new controller every 3 years. It's hoarding mentality. Most Switch games I do want to play? I wouldn't even want to play on Switch. It's a useless dust collector with a shitty screen and a shitty controller with a tiny-ass dpad.

>>16939258

Come now. Switch hacking is pretty easy and you can play games 2 weeks before their release. The guy trying to get you to buy a switch is admirable though. Switch doesn't even get any damn games. It's all rereleases of WiiU games. It's like every Switch gamer is so starved for choice they buy whatever gets released on there.

When I'm on the go I've got either something to do or I'll just read a book. It has nothing to do with how I look to the outside world, that's your projection. It has to do with the fact that gaming on the go is a terrible experience. The screen is gonna be awful, small, worse quality, I can't sit in a comfortable chair, I can't pick a controller I want, I can't continue the games that are on my PC on the go with regards to button configs and saves. And the games that are being played on the go are generally casual trash meant for short bursts while I prefer the type of game that I can genuinely sit down for and get into.

All in all it's much easier for me to pick up and read a few pages if I do ever get into the position of being both outside and inactive. I could also do some physical activity instead being outside and all. Handhelds are so you can drag your children with you to places like relatives but even now they've got phones that play fortnite you barely even need to keep them occupied with a handheld any longer. But glad you asked for the exact reason. I don't consider handheld gaming something you do for fun given all the complications and inferiority that comes with the trade-of. That's just my two cents.

People tend to underestimate their settings configuration and overestimate their spec power, that is why you have people with seemingly shitty laptop specs running things better than people with full dedicated builds.

Emulating a Nintendo Switch doesn't require a powerful gpu for native 1080p emulation, you need a modern processor for it instead unless you're using xenia.

This guy has a 2600K, replace it with a ryzen 3600 or even a 9900k if you're feeling bold and it should emulate very well. Yuzu takes up like 8% on my 1080ti. Gonna look for more videos to prove my point.

I would advise against that on PPSSPP. If you have to do it, make sure you always run the same version of the emulator throughout your playthrough. I fucked myself with save states and regular saves while trying to play at home and at work with a newer version of the emulator.

I'm sure YOU can transfer saves and I can't transfer my savestates and button configs to an actual piece of hardware.

>the psp can emulate

Goes back to my initial point. Recap: I want to escape input lag because I actually take pride in my hobbies. I want to play on a fancy screen in a comfy chair, with a controller of choice with speedtoggle, savestates, and mods. Portability will never compete. Sorry I enjoy my hobby too much to belittle it like that. You can continue your casual portable ways.

<psp can emulate

To suggest any of those emulators…I suppose you claim you have tested them all yourself?

<heard it's shit though

So you are claiming things you have no knowledge of, just out of hearsay, you're perpetuating things and you didn't give this disclaimer at all in your post? Your bold claims the PSP can emulate all those systems without having tested them yourself. Let alone can contribute anything to how well they are in emulating since you've got no knowledge on it. If I wanted to read a wikipedia article, I'd open one up right away. But if I were to pick up a PSP, it would be to play PSP games, so in that sentence the word force was referring to that.

But I'm glad you agree with the majority of my points. Always a nice feeling being right and all.

Reaction images with text on them are also always very high quality produce. I'm glad I didn't have to scoop the depths of 9fag for that one.

>To suggest any of those emulators

I never suggested an emulator, only listed systems that can be emulated on the PSP. For many of those systems there are actually multiple emulators to choose from, and in some cases a single eboot program can contain multiple emulators.

Now, I of course haven't tested all of them (about 1/3) but you are just trying to distract from being wrong.

>I want to escape input lag

Another invented issue. The PSP has no documented problems with input lag ''whatsoever, which should be obvious, seeing how the buttonsare right there on it. It's the emulator PPSSPP that people complain about having input lag.

<inb4 "I just brought up input lag just as a non-sequitur for no reason because I was just pretending to be retarded"

yeah epic ruse bro 10/10 you got trolled me really hard with that one

>a controller of choice with speedtoggle, savestates, and mods

Though it depends on the specific emulator, generally these are all available. Some lack speedtoggle, but if you can't live without these crutches you are the casual.

>outright making up entire quotes again

point out one "fake" quote in that post, you can't nigger

>But if I were to pick up a PSP, it would be to play PSP games, so in that sentence the word force was referring to that.

<I was just using the word forced wrong because I'm a compulsive liar and can't help but say things that aren't true

>So you are claiming things you have no knowledge of

Talk about deflection. That is literally what you have been doing this whole thread you dumb nigger, every post you lie more and more in some effort to save face or something because you have some inexplicable desire to lie about the PSP. Is it that the grapes are sour? Is that what it is? I don't know why else anyone would repeatedly lie about a fuckin PSP of all things.

>Always a nice feeling being right and all.

gotta give yourself that pat on the back, you can be a winner in your mind if you believe hard enough

<Reaction images blah blah blah

more noise, more distraction, more damage control, pointless

And to clarify, if you think it's not for you— having a portable emulator you can keep in your pocket— that's fine, I don't give a shit, but there's no need to lie about the thing to others in order to make yourself feel better about not having one.

>I never suggested

You really lack reading comprehension. Go read the fucking sentence again and comprehend what's being said, your defensive response gives away the fact that you lied. You are indeed merely summing up things one could get from wiki. You aren't talking out of knowledge. You're just perpetuating myths instead of instilling wisdom. You are literally talking about things you have no knowledge of and for some reason you are satisfied by that. But just to be cute with you. You did in so many words in fact suggest PSP emulation in your post. But you evidently don't understand hypotheses when used in a sentence. Why are you so fucking casual and still opening your mouth? You're just showing off how ignorant you are. No wonder you game on the go. You're an insult to people that do take care of their hobbies. You can continue to say stupid things for all I care. Been emulating a lot of DOS under PCem. Made a pre-packaged pre-configured setup if anyone wants a copy. The first time you run it you need to point it at the hard drive disk image file, after that you just click on the play button. You don't need to mess with command line, mount CD's, mount floppy disks, or do anything besides pick the game you want to play. About 1GB archived and about 2GBs unpacked. You can find it on the rom depot under homebrew DOS. Get the 0.8 pack, I'll wipe the 0.7 later this week.

Literally everything + in the easiest manner possible. With a PSP-1000 I remember only having to modify the battery (or buy a pre-modded one) and then you can easily install custom firmware 5.50 Prometheus.

You can then play a bunch of video formats by downloading a video player application, NES games SNES games, N64 games, PS1, PSP, and perhaps others.

But yeah, I always remember explicitly buying a 100X since it was easier to mod back then.

>Mostly PS1

They perfected it to the point that you can even play it on an RPi 3.

To top it off, you get so many bonuses playing it on a hi-spec machine (like the PGXP feature, video related).

It still makes me wonder how the PCSX2 Emulator still hasn't made any progress (when ironically the PS2 was the weakest console at the time).

Here's the disparity:

>Dolphin can run effortlessly on a low-range laptop without a GPU (even the Wii Games)

>PCSX2 requires a PC made for Crysis (even so, most of the games have bugs and glitches that shouldn't even be there).

In short, it's a bit of an all-rounder. I don't need PPSSPP since I already have the real thing, and I soft-modded it ages ago.
