After five years of grinding and getting into actually finishing the main story. What the hell happend to the game Square Promised and why didn't i listen to my friends and finish this game earlier.
I'm regretting my life choices right now and I still am. Why did i took my sweet ass time to try to finish a game that took me time to realize, its not good to begin with. And never reward the player for putting in the effort with side-quest. Not to mention the amount of cut-content. This game was the definition of wasted potential and not to mention, that this game was my first final fantasy game.
Square Enix, i hope to god, you all would just stop with this DLC shit. Because now i'm losing my patience.

VII is overshadowed in any aspect by the game that precedes and succeeds it - VI and VIII. Music, visuals, gameplay, characters, story - anything you can name was done better in one of those two (mostly VI). And none of these three are even close to being the best in the series, either, it's just that VII is really mediocre and I still don't understand why people remember it so fondly. I mean sure, it was "revolutionary" but so was Mario 64 and most normalfags consider that to be dated and think that Sunshine, Galaxy and Odyssey outdid it, so why not FFVII as well?

7 was when square realized they could pump shit out to western audiences and didn't have to compete with DQ for sales.
From then on the OG staff were quickly fading away and the games (with exception to IX) had nothing to do with FF other than the trademarks of the franchise (chocobos, moogles, cid, biggs&wedge, pheonix down).
It was effectively like yakuza killed the original square soft and started making their own FF fan-games.

They got lazy halfway through and gave up on the open world for corridors. The Episode Duscae demo was actually somewhat decent, but then the Platinum demo watered down the combat and it was all downhill from there. I'll admit the combat can be fun when you get the perk for infinite airsteps though. Still, the best part of the game is cruising with the bros while listening to FF OSTs you buy at gas stations, while occasionally getting out of the car to explore new areas and fight new monsters. Not that that's saying much.

Why is time spent playing supposed to equal enjoyment felt? I spent a long time playing Morrowind, and while some of it was fun, I wouldn't say it was worth it and I wouldn't replay it.

X was really a sign of things to come. Not that FF protagonists were amazing before, but Tidus was a complete fucking joke. The voice acting also hurt the game more than it helped it come to life.

I wouldn't be surprised. I hear the same problems in VA in anime. You wouldn't believe how much they butcher Japanese names and terms. The other problem is when they try to imitate Japanese VA and it sounds awkward. That's added to the fact that they censor minor jokes that might be seen as "offensive".

I had to agree. I have almost every episode when it got cheap, but i don't want to check it out after finishing the main story. Also the Terra War sidequest was the only true FFXV tbh.

I love the whole fantasy but real world aesthetic they went with for this game. Would you say it's worth playing for that alone? I also don't like Final Fantasy gameplay very much.
