The invulnerability buff and removal of the damage penalty were already retarded, but this shit made me realize how fucking broken the phlog truly is. If they're not going to undo the invulnerability shit can't they at least reduce the duration of the crits? It's basically a kritz self-ubercharge that can be combined with the default one.
It's not even a crutchy but still rewarding ambush weapon anymore, it's an outright "equip in case of losing" tool right now.

Anyone who plays pyros for an extended amount of time knows how much important airblast is for the class. The sudden crit can be neutered by using the Vaccinator's charge and letting your pocket (preferably a heavy) to kill the pyro or stall him long enough until the uber wears off. I agree that it's a crutch though, but it's an easily counterable crutch for the most part.

Pretty much self-explanatory, after ShitYourMatch update you can't switch sides until you get auto-balanced. Not really important, but some people don't want to get locked down in their choices
<Spectators
If you want to go AFK for awhile without getting kicked for it, and for spectating suspected hackers.
<Vote scramble
Thanks to ShitYourMatch, there are some roving bands of 6 tryhards queuing together ready to pubstomp your fun out. Vote scramble will force to scramble all players randomly, thus giving everyone an auto-balance.
>Map voting
No, the current iteration is useless when compared to before. Since you only can vote after round ends, and you can only pick 3(!) maps compared to whatever maps that Valve had for the mode you're playing. Even then, it doesn't even work 50% of the time. So you might as well quit and re-queue. This makes everyone not stay longer in the server, thus making player-to-player interaction even more scarce.

Do you remember those funny sprays? Do you like putting mods? Well too fucking bad, since Valve Servers set sv_pure 1. You get no gameplay customization goy! Only play how i fucking want it to be played as !

THIS is my BIGGEST gripe with ShitYourMatch. You HAVE to use the stupid fucking forced Matchmaking, complete with the useless start of the screen match that does nothing to impede player freedom. Not only that, if somebody quits in the middle of the match, then you'd wait up to a minute while the matchmaking find another player to fill in the slot. Have fun playing in an outnumbered team while the enemy team has the headcount advantage. This shit is so bad it makes a feature in Steam FUCKING WORTHLESS, so let me explain how the jump from Quickplay to Matchmaking is just a huge hassle for players who wants to play with their friends.
So imagine that you have a friend in the middle of the match, then he wants you to hop into the server since there's a spot open. OOPS TOO BAD GOY. You can't connect to the server through the 'Join game' button on the 'friends list'. You have to use our shiny new TF Matchmaking and pray to god that you can be connected to that same server your friend is playing. As with above, you'd rather just drop out of the fucking match altogether and just re-queue again.
Now imagine all this, and complete with the minutes long wait for just a 1 round when this update just released. What this goddamn update also did is to downplay community servers even more by dumping the server browser to the near bottom of the list. To Valve's credit, they did fix some fo these problems such as the matchmaking finder not taking 1 hour to find a match, but holy fucking shit why the fuck would they fuck up something that's not broke so hard?
God fucking damn, i hate nu-Valve. Now that Alyx is a lukewarm tech demo and Artifucked gets nuked, i am hoping to see more people are getting disappointed in Valve. Too bad everyone also knows that Steam is currently Valve's biggest money maker, until a digital storefront can challenge Steam's dominance, Valve will be able to live off it even when they made flops after flops of hardware or games.

I understand the reasoning behind it - the spy often has to send himself into the crossfire for the DR to work - but it's a retardedly strong reduction and if I remember correctly it used to be something like 90% back on release. Spy isn't meant to be a tank that the enemy simply chases around the whole base until his team wins. But with the amount of damage reduction it gives and the ease at which it can be replenished, that is what Spy is: a tank. And in most cases he won't get very many kills, he simply won't die. At which point you could easily just have medic fulfil that role by having near permanent quick-fix uber on himself but without being able to apply it to anyone else or use ranged weapons.

The agency is different. Goose chases rely on the target being an idiot, killing it relies on you getting the kill. The main targets of a spy (medic, engi) have better things to do than chase around frenchmen.

The fact that they aren't waiting to respawn. Which means that during your little goose chase the high value target can still kill your teammates that he sees along the way. He might not do as much damage to the team but he most definitely still can and most likely will contribute. It's not that fucking hard to get a lot of valuable kills on Spy, it's just that everyone uses DR as a crutch thinking that their no risk minimal reward contribution has provided anything meaningful.

I don't know, the timeline doesn't seem to match up, the [AS] short was in the works from 2012-2014, and i find it hard to believe trend following Unwarranted ego filled modern Valve put more than 2 years into the development period into that abomination.
