Subject. This is a thread for asking a question that does not need it's own thread like

>What are some games that X?

>Asking for opinions on a game

>What are some games where I can Y?

>A hind?

And so on.

I'll start, what are some games that are set in religious fantasy settings, where you're playing some divinely powered creature sent to go fuck up demons, such as Valdis Story, the Darksiders game or Dood Eternal(since I know someone will mention it if I don't)?

What are some good non-RPG games with a heroic fantasy theme? I really like the Mystara games and love the diesel-fantasy designs in the Sorcer Striker/Mahou Daisakusen series. I already have Dragon's Crown, though I haven't beaten it yet. Any system up to 7th generation/PC/arcade is fine.

There's a roguelike with an old Norse deity theme that I think is called just Ragnarok. It's more of a good gods versus bad gods thing, though, rather than demons. Then there was an old CRPG called Darklands. You can actually call on Catholic saints for help in that game, and you fight the old satan-fucking type of witches and so on in that game. You're not really divinely empowered, though, the game just makes the historical setting's majority religion have actual in-game effects other than secular ones. Most of the time you're fighting robber knights and non-religious mythic stuff like dwarves, if I remember right. I'm actually having trouble coming up with games where the setting is done earnestly without layers of bullshit (The You Testament) or Japanese-style creative liberties (SMT/Megaten) layered on top of it.

That's okay I suppose. Come to think of it I think Apotheon fits that description somewhat, except it's greek gods instead of demons who are out of line

If I wanna get a Dreamcast purely for multiplayer games, but accompanied with me having a PS2, is it worth the buy? Like is the crossover between their libraries something that would make it not worth having? I really only know of Powerstone, MVC2, and SA2 in terms of multiplayer games that aren't on PS2, so apologies for my ignorance.

SMT was really the low-hanging fruit. I know that kind of thing kicks around but I don't play much that actually fits the description, so I don't have much in the way of recommendations. If you like old-style RPGs, though, there are a several (mostly untranslated, I think) games in that series. I think the spinoffs were badly-received, though, which is probably why most of them weren't ever translated, and the explicitly religious elements were I think toned down a bit in later games like Strange Journey, Devil Survivor, and Digital Devil Saga. I don't think god even appeared in SJ or DDS like it did in the older mainline Megaten/SMT games, and I dunno about Devil Survivor.

I am in the same boat; I would wait until a better and cheaper ODE appears for the system, since it allows me to play my games how and wherever I want.

I buy my system based on the actual value: is it worth spending $100+ on a system you might not use too much? I did with a Sega Saturn, but with the outlook of a cheap ODE, and I really wanted this system in my "collection". I wanted it for the system, and I did not really look at the games too much.

I'm in need of this as there are some series I would like to start but would not like to get immersed in it only to find out later that it turns to absolute shit. But can't remember the name of it (nor if it's still alive for that matter).

Why do game prices vary so much in price between console and PC? A good example for this is Fable anniversary. On Xbox I have normalfag friends that don't see the merit of PC sue me Fable, a game well over a decade old, has a digital price tag of $39.99. That's for a backwards compatible version that ran on the 360. Saying it runs is also a hyperbole because it fucking chugs along like the little engine that could going perpetually uphill. Compare it with current sales of $8.99 elsewhere. Is it just a matter of ballpark hotdogs? You know, can't go elsewhere so that will be $12 for a hotdog sucker.

Yes, of course it is. The target audience for games like Fable, being full-on retarded, will pay that price happily. Why not continue to charge it?

Pricing is about what the market will bear when there's no supply pressure or motivation to do things like clear off shelves. A Gamestop might sell a used game at a discount because they are, like most retailers, assuming that otherwise it'll just sit on their shelf and take up space. Copies of old but popular games go up in price on sites like eBay because you can't find them so easily any longer. Without those sort of effects at play, it's much easier for the publisher to argue that the game is worth nearly as much now as it was back then. Besides, on PC at least they know that places like Steam will eventually have sales. The people who want to buy it at a lower price will wait for a sale to buy it; the people who tolerate paying the higher price will buy it when they want it. There's no pressure on people to digitally buy older games like there is with physical old releases. You just press an internet button when the combination of price and patience is appropriate for your personality, and you immediately have your game.

I know of two instances in which a localization of a game was re-localized back into where the game originated: Super Mario Bros. 2 and Animal Crossing: Population Growing! Super Mario Bros. 2 was originally Doki Doki Panic, a tie-in to a Japanese tv studio's promotion, but it got edited for North American release into a Mario game. That edit was brought to Japan years later as Super Mario USA (which is why you see many Mario products including Smash continuing to acknowledge the US localization of Doki Doki Panic). As for Animal Crossing, the original N64 DD and the slightly improved Gamecube porst originally lacked the American holidays and events that the Gamecube release had and had some additional Japanese events that got removed in localization. Nintendo of Japan was so impressed with Nintendo of America's localization efforts that they re-translated them and included them in an improved release that featured some additional exclusive content.

What I want to know is are there any other occasions in video games where a localized game was re-localized back to its original region?

SE did it all the time back in the day. The re-releases were called "international" or "international edition". https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/International_Version

Konami has a few. Metal Gear Solid: Integral had some gameplay extras from the English version and the English VA. Among the Yu-Gi-Oh games, Stairway to the Destined Duel is Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 but better and has a Nipponese release.

Super Mario 64 and Wave Race 64 have "Shindou" versions that add some tweaks from the English release (some more Mario voice clips, some various sound tweaks, )

There's also too many games to count that were reprinted with some bug fixes that originated in the foreign release.

Zone of the Enders 2 has a "Special Edition" with some extra stuff from the English version. The inclusion of "European Extreme" in future re-releases of MGS games is also worth a mention.

Weird ones:

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon has some extra multiplayer maps in the English versions. These extra maps are included in the Nippon only sequel New Mystery of the Emblem.

The translation patch for Rockman EXE 4.5 has some bug fixes and extras (allow unlocking some event only BS by pressing a button combo, and restoring a handful of unimportant NPCs that were accidentally commented out). The team made a patch to add all this to the Nipponese version for the sake of completion and the distant hope Capcom would use the patch for a future rerelease (the license for the patch explicitly allows them to).

Rock Band added some European songs for the European release. These were then released as paid DLC for the US version.

What's the closest equivalent to a singleplayer runescape, without an assload of grind? Particularly the part where the game has somewhat useful non-combat skills like crafting your own weapons and agility training(Honestly the agility part is what I'm interested in, far too many RPGs seem to skimp entirely on having a decent movement system. definitive editions (International Editions) of Final Fantasy 7, 7DoC, 10, 10-2, and 13 as well as FF4 easy type. 12Zodiac is considered an International Edition but just stands so far above any other version of the game that I can hardly consider a backport of content

Kingdom Hearts series Final Mixes

Bravely Default: For the Sequel is an interesting case because it came out a few months before the international release; it has all the bonuses of the international release as well as uncensored costumes. Additionally it has english text as an option so you can read it if you can't into moonrunes

Dragon Quest 8 (3DS) has voice acting options (originally added for the PS2 english release) and the PS2 international version's orchestral score where the japanese original had midi (and then the 3DS international release got said midi). The 3DS version also has the super saiyan hair for when the hero reaches maximum tension, a visual originally added in the international release because, well, Dragonball

90% of the way there on that. It started life as SMB2 game to begin with, then Nintendo took a contract to make a game for a convention's mascots and they reskinned it. They just skinned it back for the international release and then backported that.

Agreed. With the case of the RE3make, though, idk if they still have the post-game modes from the original like they did in the RE2make. What was cool about the latter was, they actually added even more content to the post-game than the original RE2 had, and that's saying something.

Its that way for me too, whomever made that list is obviously a simple minded mouthbreather with a double digit IQ who struggles to understand or appreciate anime with deeper meanings and more intricate plots, the context is lost on them.

Anime such as Ghost In The Shell, Mobile Suit Gundam and Berserk would have been insulted by being included on that list.

Bumpan. Speaking of Darksiders I've been reading through the tie-in novel, The Abomination Vault. Outside of one part I really wish Darksiders 2 was taken to its full potential. It pains me how rushed the game is and how it will never be complete. And honestly after Darksiders 3 it's hard to want the current developers to "complete" darksiders 2 since they'll most likely shit it up.

Haven't played any myself. Or watched any of the series for that matter. Friend keeps prodding me to go through the original three at least, but at 140 episodes between them, that's a pretty sizable time investment (especially being that I like to binge watch stuff), it's got me wondering what the pacing's like.

>>16905104

Customers rarely seem to know what they mean, and neither does most of the media, some publishers, or hell, even some developers. For the most part, if you ask me:

>Remake

Can be either a gameplay-oriented remake like Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, or the usual full ones that leave the plot and characterization/development more or less the same (IE: NOT what Square-Enix is doing with nuFFVII).

>Reboot

Takes the basic premise a game/series had and discards the canon/chronology (if there is one), sometimes to focus on an entirely different audience. Doesn't necessarily have to be bad, but is tough to pull off without pissing off the prior fans (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time being a positive example, DmC being a negative).

>Remaster

Takes an older game and upscales the visuals for more modern resolutions. Sometimes features bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, but the further one goes beyond just resolution enhancements, the more iffy prior fans are apt to be (see .hack//G.U. Last Recode). And even then, a lot of remasters suffer graphical glitches or loss of effects to some degree, perhaps because it's often not the same team making them that originally developed the game(s).

I'd also argue that "reimagining" could be it's own thing. Like Super Castlevania IV or Sword of Mana, which go quite a bit beyond being standard remakes in the amount of added content (and which at the same time don't exactly trump the originals, as one could debate a remake ought to from a design standpoint), but aren't reboots either as they hit the same overall notes and were still aimed at previous fans as well as new ones. But that's just me.

>MSG: Original Trilogy Movies

<There are some shows and movies between the OG Gundam and Zeta gundam but I personally watched and enjoyed 8th MS team and both Thunderbolt movies.

>MSG: Zeta Gundam Trilogy Movies

You can skip ZZ Gundam because I keep hearing its shit

>MSG: Chars Counter Attack

>And later this year MSG: Hathaway

And some of the better spinoff seires out there are

>Gundam 00

The best non-mainline series hands down. I VERY HIGHLY recommend you give this show a try its fucking 10/10.

>Mobile Fighter G Gundam

And incredibly cheesey and goofy but stupid fun and ridiculous series that focuses on stereotypes of certain races and nations with kung fu/boxing/horse gundams, it took me a while to finish though and it couldnt hold my attention for long periods of time.

>MSG: Iron Blooded Orphans

Tbh I only watched the first episode and stopped watching because I didnt like a specicfic characters haircut and I had a feeling that I wasnt going to like the show later on down the line, it may be different for you though.

>079 movies when the second one cuts so much shit and character development, killing any impact that Ramba Ral has on the series

>Zeta movies when it's an absolute mangling of the series that changes everything that was good about it and retcons the ending making it less tragic and thus invalidating the message and thematics

>skip ZZ because you can't form your opinion and skip the much needed closure for Kamille and Haman, while the series plants the seed for the plot and themes of Char's Counterattack

>Actually suggesting him to watch the retconfest that is Unicorn with its retarded plot and whose sole existance invalidates the message of the original triology just to wank muh zeon did nothing wrong fags

>watching Narrative with its ugly as fuck visuals and retarded plot

STOP HERE NIGGER

That's not how you fucking do it with Gundam holy shit.

Time for autism.

>079 (series,43 episodes)

<Something that must be experienced at least once in your lifetime. Perfectly able to stand on its feet alone. Was cut short from 50 episodes to 43 after flopping with the children, had 3 movies that try to simplify the plot. The 2nd one in particular is a travesty that ruins Ramba Ral's arc,one of the highest points in the series by rushing throught 25+ episodes in a single movie. The 3rd is actually pretty fucking good and improves on the original ending thanks to better animation, you may want to watch it after finishing the series. Still, the movies don't do justice to the series and can't be considered a substitute.

>Zeta Gundam

<Not the fucking movies for the love of God,what are you doing nigger. The series has the darkest tone of the original triology and is a journey trough despair and autism. They made the movies to have a "lighter" tone and an happier ending, while as always rushing all the content. Stay away from them.

>ZZ Gundam

<You don't skip ZZ,at least try it. Has a much lighter tone to the point that the first half is outright a comedy, but gets amazing in the second half. Closes every plot line that Zeta left open, gives a conclusion to Kamille and Haman and has a beautiful ending that will be the basis for Char's Counterattack

>Char's Counterattack

<The conclusion of the saga, the plot is quite rushed (it was supposed to be a series) but has an exceptional ending that is the perfect way to close the plot, themes and especially the characters.

These were all directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the father of Gundam and plenty of other great series (Ideon,Xabungle,Dunbine just to name a few).

Now,what about the UC side content?

>0080 War in the Pocket

<Short 6 episode OVA,you really ought to see this. It's one of the most beloved titles of the franchise for its powerful and heartwrenching story. You won't see hamburgers in the same way ever again.

>0083 Stardust Memory

<Fills the gap between 079 and Zeta. High budget OVA,it's one of the best looking series of its time (and even today),sadly the writing gets pretty messy after the director change. Watch it ONLY for the visuals, and get ready to hate the characters.

>Gundam F91

<A movie that was supposed to be a 50 episode series. Because of this the plot is ripped right out of Star Wars 1:1. But the animation is outstanding,as is the mech design and the general visuals. Just don't expect much if you decide to watch it.

>Victory Gundam

<Late UC,so not connected to the originals. Batshit insane plot, depressing as hell and a poor boy as protagonist makes this one hell of a ride. Some love it,some outright hate it.

>08th MS Team

<Focuses on some random unit in buttfuck nowhere during 079. Cool series, great animation and a breath of fresh air. The love stories get out of hand and make it a Romeo and Juliet type of thing towards the end. Still, pretty good.

>Gundam Unicorn

<Hope you like Zeon. Terrible writing based on a plot point that invalidates everything that happened before, full of retcons and retarded twists, brings back a dead character for no reason in particular other than nostalgiabaiting and has a retarded as fuck ending. The visuals are great again though, but full of CG. Also Sawano made the soundtrack,if that's your thing.

>Gundam Narrative

<Just don't. It was made literally just to sell again the Unicorn model kit with minimal changes. Has a korean artist for the chara desing, and it's the most hideous of the series (except maybe IGLOO?).

>Gundam Thunderbolt

<Pretty good OVA,usual war stuff. Free Jazz OST is a love it or hate it matter.

>Gundam Origins

<Sunrise just can't get enough of retconning the original series just for nostalgiabaiting and Zeon wanking. Is about stuff we mostly knew and that wasn't necesarry to make a series about while doing the usual retcons that prequels seem to love. Nice use of CG for once.

That's it for the UC. Cutting in half the post..

For the Spin-Offs,the good ones are

>G Gundam

<Imagawa's take on tournament anime,is stupid, cheesy and crazy as you'd expect. Just look at the Nether Gundam, the Tequila Gundam or the Mermaid Gundam. Has surprisingly good writing towards the end.

>X Gundam

<An unique take on the newtype concept,it's a series that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. It was cut from 50 to 39 episodes because it was not popular enough, but still manages to be wrapped up nicely.

>Turn A Gundam

<Many will tell you that this is the best Gundam. Tomino delivers something truly unique, with some stellar mechanical design by Syd Mead. It's very character-driven,so it may seem slow to some. Absolutely worth it,holy shit.

>00 Gundam

<Good modern take on Gundam,in the 1st season it's a cool series that takes inspiration from the middle-eastern wars tackling on themes of religion and such. Sadly loses a lot of its steam in the 2nd season, were it becomes a pretty generic Gundam series as they go to space. Still, one of the better AU series.

>00 Awakening of the Trailblazer

<Ayylmao

>Gundam Build Fighters

<Another series for younger fans,it's a love letter to the whole franchise and one of the biggest advertising ever made. You will want to buy some Gunpla while watching it. Still, the writing is actually pretty good and the battles/animation is amazing. Also one of the best soundtrack in Gundam.

Don't watch all of them together,do it one step at time with plenty of space in between or you will end up hating them.

Nice and slow, watch what you find interesting (the only "necessary" stuff would be the original triology anyway).

>Origin

>Zeon wank

Did we watch the same series? Origin takes a fat shit on almost all the characters. It turns Char into even more of a sociopath than he was in the original series, it ruins Amuro by making him way more competent than he should be, ruining the vibe of “Normal kid falls into the job of piloting a super weapon.”, It ruins what little character Garma has by taking him from want to succeed based on his own merits to being a cry baby who whines to Degwin because Char is a higher rank than he is.

Deikun goes from being Space Jesus to Space Charles Manson, Jimba Ral goes from being a kind old man I was also kind of confused, in Origin, Jimba and Teabolo Mass are two separate characters, but iirc, in the original Teabolo Mass was just a cover that Jimba made for himself. I might be wrong to being a zealot that basically turns Char into his pre-programmed assassin against the Zabis. If anything, Origin makes it more clear that Zeon are supposed to be the bad guys by taking away a lot of their redeeming qualities. The only one who comes out mostly unscathed is Ramba Ral,

Dashing is hard, not just because what it's slower, but I can hardly find directly forward or back without slipping and jumping my accident. In addition, the travel time on the stick causes me to hit button before an input is finished.

Any tips? I want to stick with it, but it's demotivating not being able to control my character as fluently as I did before.

I solved it, I'm so happy. It started working after I installed DX9 + DXVK. I'm not sure why both are needed but it works flawlessly now and I ain't gonna question it. Also had installed the 2012 and 2015-2019 C++ redistributables, although the game tries to install the 2012 one only.

Now to the more pressing questions, like WHO WAS PHONE.

>Orcs Must Die: Third Person Shooter+Tower Defense and a really good game that's greatly overlooked. Gets fairly easy if you start abusing clockwork mace+tar pits but don't do that and you'll be golden. The first one is singleplayer onry, the second is co-op(There's singleplayer but I felt it was too lame since the maps are designed for two players) and lets you play the sexy villainess of the previous game from the start.

If you don't want hybrids, Defense Grid and Gemcraft are safe bets. I haven't played anything else so I can't really recommend anything else. Have fun.

>Who are some 'let's players' who aren't complete insufferable turbofaggots?

I really tried finding ones that fit such a criteria, and the closest that come to that are a handful of LPs from SA, which should tell you everything you need to know about why it's a shit idea, jsut stick to gameplay videos.

To add to the SA bit, they're still humongous faggots that are really far up their own ass (seriously the Braid LP has that in full fucking force in the last episode complete the guy being flustered at the co-commentator not really agreeing with him on his interpretation of the star ending, and obviously the Fez LP is littered with this shit) and can't help but insert liberal retardation everywhere they go (granted not all but usually only absent on older LPs from a very select few people, best example being the Trespasser LP), but at-least they're usually technically competent (unless you go for old ones potato video with shit mic are rarer), can speak english, can actually fucking play the videogame they're trying to showcase and can make a LP mostly entertaining to watch if you can discount shit opinions from time to time.

There's also a handful of LPs on there with post episode documentary style stuff where you will actually learn some decent stuff like say the L.A Noire one with a section on some older movie / series being shown that can be related to some degree to the mission that was shown before but one of is a Bioshit LP, granted still nice learning about murrican history even with that

There's also one or two oddballs with military grade autism that really just care about the game they're showcasing like that one guy which did the PS1 Beyblade game LP

I dunno why I keep doing this to myself but I'm actually trying to watch as many of those LPs as I can, and keeping mental notes of retarded shit I hear throughout them

If you want a good LP in terms of the LP itself, try John Learned's annotated SoTN series. Basically it's an LP that also discusses the design philosophy, trivia and historical influences of the game.

If you want to look up indie games, just look at any piracy website(the sharethread's skidrow for example), look through the covers, if anything looks remotely interesting look at the screenshots, if it doesn't look like ass look up gameplay and then pirate it.

I assume you mean Bioware's NWN, not SSI's goldbox NWN, Obsidian's NWN2 or the Neverwinter MMO?

Whenever there's an NWN or D&D game thread this exact question comes up. Here's an answer:

The basic campaign is a tech demo. It was always intended to be a tech demo. The game was marketed as a toolkit and server/client, and it's quite good as such.

Shadows of Undrentide and Horde of the Underdark are the real game. Play SoU first and import your character.

I've heard some of the premium modules are good but haven't played them.

In fanmade single player campaigns there's little on par with A Dance With Rogues. Ecchi content aside, it has a sweeping plot with a princess (your character) trying to survive and eventually overturn an enemy occupation by making connections with the underground.

You also get the occasional recreation of tabletop modules and other ambitious campaigns

Yeah, the Bioware one. I'll check out ADwR, but in the meantime I just downloaded the most recommended one I could find like a retard - Aielund Saga or something. Probably overrated, but I'm enjoying it so far because it let me play as an adorable little Brownie girl. Game says she's most suited for magic, but most of her racial boosts seem slanted towards rogues so that's what I'm building. It's fun being able to hide in a tree stump and pelt enemies with a sling while I send my companions into the meatgrinder, or sneak up in the tall grass (knee high to everyone else) and cut their hamstrings. But since it's a custom race, there's a ton of bugs in the clothing and animations. At the very least it's interesting exploring the game world at that size.

Is Obsidian's NWN2 worth my time? Did it get the same (or at least a decent) level of module support as the original?

Even the least annoying people are insufferable after you've listened to them ramble over/about a videogame for hours and hours. Case in point, this other anon is talking about ResearchIndicates:

>and can't help but insert liberal retardation everywhere they go (granted not all but usually only absent on older LPs from a very select few people, best example being the Trespasser LP)

And that particular LP was awesome partly because it's designedly brief. You don't have time to get sick of him. He's done some Civil War game more recently, though I haven't watched it.

CannibalK9 did an LP of The Void back in the day that was also a favorite, being informative, arttful, and pausing to ask questions about the subject matter we're being presented with. Something you never get from your average joe lettuce player.

A guy calling himself Scribe did an LP of God Hand that I watched recently. He was very competent at the game and at talking about the game.

Everything else: obnoxious dorks, wannabe e-celebs, and the occasional ignorant slut.

>NWN

This game was made with multiplayer in mind. SP campaigns are tech-demos, as you've correctly pointed out, and actively discourage plenty of people like me back in the day who have made a mistake not to try out MP. Most servers employ custom packs that actually make the game look pleasant to look at, compared to vanilla stuff, and heavily modify the rules and content on top of that. There are pvp servers, hardcore roleplay servers, even erp servers if that's your cup of tea. I've had a time of my life playing it so I recommend it to everybody I can. All that having been said, ADWR is great, simply by the merit of probably the best simulation of a city I have seen in gaming. In all other games, cities are little more than villages with a couple of houses and a tavern. Here it has several, completely urbanized districts with various NPC's and guards who will remember you if you piss them off. Too bad that the sex stuff often seems retarded and people were repelled by it.

About NWN2 - I didn't like it. It runs like ass even on semi-modern machines, looks trash (like everything was made of smooth plastic, character models included), has really stupid user interface: NWN1 had an efficient user bar on the bottom on the screen, intuitive circular menu under right click and inventory that actually recognized the size of the stuff you carry, and the sequel throws it all out the window. Even mods couldn't fix it to my satisfaction. Everyone and their mother is praising MOTB as a peak story, but personally I couldn't stand it, and I've given it a try twice. Purely subjective opinion, but the story wasn't captivating at all. The companion NPC's were repulsive to say the least. I don't see what people see in this, and I have no desire to try to find out again.

tl;dr - Try out multiplayer, you will not regret it. Can safely say that the experience is unique and no other game will give it to you.

So I gave in to my poorer judgement and decided to give it a shot. It looks like an entirely different game and even with the tutorial it's kind of overwhelming compared to the pure simplicity of tutorial island.

>Why am I in Burthrope? Isn't it members only? where is lumbridge or tutorial island?

>Why does everything look so overdesigned? Got to admit the bronze stuff looked nice but I stole a glance at the black armor and it looks edgy with horns and trims all over the place

>Why is chainmail/platebody, square shield/kiteshield and plate leg/skirt stats identical? I vaguely remember leg/shirt being identical but not kite/square and chain/plate

<I like the idea of filling up a bar for mining, and the heat/forge bank mechanic for smithing. That's a pretty nice QoL

<So is the toolbox.

>What's with letting me clean herbs and do slayer tasks and whatnot

~The fuck is up with the combat abilities? This is WoW tier stuff and I'm not sure what to feel about it since I haven't had the chance to fully use it

Overall it looks nice and I like the quality of life changes but it's still undecided if I'll continue playing by the end of the week, let alone in three days. However in the 10-ish minutes I played I got the notification that someone reached all 99 at least 6 times, so I'm hoping the pace of leveling isn't insane enough to the point that by the time I earn a first bond(if I get that far) I'd be overleveled.

But even a dog wouldn't sneeze on the rest of the Vinesauce streamers. I don't blame Vin for not using 4chan anymore. First of all, he's not the goofy 22-year-old he was when he founded Vinesauce, he's like 35 now. Secondly, 4chan is total dogshit these days. It's easy for anons on here to say that, but having used the site on occasion I can say it's a complete shitshow all the time. Everything's a fucking argument, everybody is baiting all the time, every other post is a forced meme. It's obvious the new userbase are between 15-24, which is fine, that's what the age demographic used to be when I was posting there as well, but as a consequence it means all the people who made the site fun to begin with aren't there anymore.

I’m thinking of making an AA2 playthrough thread like the days of late preexodus halfchan /v/ or early 8chan, done in the style of screenshots and asking thread for guidance. AA2Unlimited seem to be full of F U N new personality quirks including gang wars, ebola, mind control, ghost possession, skinwalkers, player controlled murder, and stripping people you win fights against. I’m currently familiarizing myself with it all again, but have ideas for a fun thread and wondering what sounds good.

>Gang War

We control a club and some villain controls a rival club. We can recruit members and use them to fight/rape/kill their gang till only their leader is left. Class is filled with a variety of good allies and wild cards

>Keep em pure

We get a waifu and a class full of degenerates to fight off

>Yandere class

Class with multiple random yanderes (two types, one kills rivals, other kills lover)

>Pure Random

What it says

>Theme scenario

I know I ran on full of metal gear characters once

IN ANY SCENARIO, Coronachan will be an NPC trying to gift everyone she can with the STD module.

Any suggestions for scenarios or characters to make? Aa2s maker is limited compared to the shit i could do in koitatsu but the gameplays way better and i can still do some crazy shit. I plan on doing a thread during an evening where I actually have time when I am more prepared.

Even though no one cares, I figured I'd update my progress.

I made 3 clubs into Bancho gangs, one for DIO, one for Jotaro, and one for me, James. I made Coronachan as a horny STD carrier, /x/tan as a person possessed by a ghost, Cell as a strong rapist forcer, Teagan to test Not For Lewdan, Kreia as maximum negative rumour spreader and vengefulness, and a smattering of random white knights, lewd people, and whatever the Random button filled out with.

Dio and jojo have each recruited one person, I haven't recruited SHIT yet despite become friends and love interests with multiple people like Teagan, Hat Kid, Anna, and Fujiwara. Trying to befriend a few dudes, but no luck, James needs to get his shit together, maybe work on his stats. Jessie (who I made to test the last name recognizing "incest" thing) is with polite orc instead, maybe I should become his enemy. My main goal is to get at least SOMEONE into my club, may need to start deploying more team rocket style tactics. Only girl I've been able to fully lewd once was Korra, but only cause she's impulsive as hell.

Jojo and Dio have fought, but for some reason only DIO hates jojo while jojo is no interest. Coronachan has given her gift to DIO in a consensual relationship and /x/tan in a not so consensual relationship. She is currently in a relationship with DIO but wanting to breakup while his feelings to her are TOGETHER FOREVER so we'll see where that goes. Hoping she spreads the gift a little more before she gets warudo'd. DIO also hates /x/tan with a burning passion enough to possibly kill her as well.

Other things of note, /v/ is a rainbow card so he is best friends with every other male and in good relationship with shantae. Everyone loves the teacher. The only characters that have had sex are people who have done it with Coronachan.

Anyway, if shit stay only somewhat interesting, I'll start adding some yanderes. Either way, gonna make a thread after some more practice where I'll make a class from suggestions.

also, i didnt have time to screencap it but the highlight was when Teagan came up to me to say "You should steer clear of Coronachan."

In the home versions of Golden Axe 1, you can find these green enemy statues in the final level, two of which come to life. The other two do not as they don't seem to have an equivalent enemy in the game data. Indeed, watching full playthroughs of every version on youtube, such enemies don't appear in the Arcade, Genesis, or MS-DOS versions.

What are the other two, and why do I have memories of fighting the pig orcs as regular enemies on my uncle's DOS copy in the early '90s?

The moveset is as minimal as they could make it for a 3D Mario, so yes, it's more straightforward and standard. In return, Galaxy's levels are based more on platforming, and there is a decent difficulty curve unlike Sunshine and Odyssey.

It depends on what you loved about Odyssey. If it was the freedom to explore, then you are going to be disappointed by Galaxy. People say Galaxy is better because a lot of people prefer increasingly challenging platforming over exploration. Although the spin does correct a lot of jumps you'll make, it doesn't fix nearly every mistake you can make like Sunshine and Odyssey, another reason why a lot of people prefer it over sandbox 3D Mario.

I have not tested UDG, but the main Danganronpa series should run on that PC. I can effectively guarantee 1 and 2 will run perfectly, but V3 may have some minor issues, but they shouldn't affect any of the actual gameplay. As for the other games, I haven't played them, but for things like FF7, a PC port of an older game, it should work fine.

After playing and beating them both. 1 hasn’t aged super well. A lot of the levels feel more tedious than challenging, they lack atmosphere, and the later portion of the game feels like it was barely play tested.

2 feels like peak 3D Mario though and made me see why these games are so fondly remembered. It gets challenging as it goes, the trials can be actually difficult, the bosses are interesting and fun, and the levels feel like their own little worlds.

some things are, some things aren't. Like everything else in the series, play on critical and you'll have a good time with the gameplay. The story successfully ends several storylines that have been floating around for years, but Xehanort's motivation for everything was pretty weak.

The only genuinely terrible thing in there is probably the Frozen world due to a ton of Disney interference. Everything about that world is awful and the minigame you have to play there to eventually get Ultima is just miserable.

2 is definitely still king, but 3 is fun if you can get into the new mechanics.

What games have Diablo's loot/build system without Diablo's combat? I really enjoyed Nioh and Darksiders 2

Are either Vermintide games worth getting now that they are on sale? I really enjoyed games like L4D and Alien Swarm.

Victor Vran is a similar style hack and slash game with full ARPG controls like free movement and jumping as well as a neat van hellsing-esque aesthetic. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Another game with a similar loot system is Transformers: Devastation. It's a Platinum game with everything you'd expect to go with that.

Yes, Vermintide 2 has more flexibility since you can make builds with the characters unlike L4D which plays more linear, the only thing that gets repetitive are the levels since the main game has like 13 levels, Bögenhafen DLC comes with 2 moderately long levels, Back To Ubersreik comes with 3 recicled levels from the first ggame and Winds of Magic comes with just 1 plus a weaves game mod that are kind of scambled areas from the vanilla levels with a theme of one of the WH winds of magic (like a celestial themed one players are struck with area lighting from the sky that they evade) try to get the Winds of Magic DLC if it's with a 50% discount or more.

Is GOG the least cucked video game digital distribution platform out there, legally? Or should I take my business somewhere else?

Too late, the sale's gone and I decided not to because all the DLCs keep saying it got ruined in updates and then abandoned. Thank you though.

>Devastation

Already played it, it was great but I'd say the diablo-loot part was the weakest, just like Darksiders 2.

I'm looking into victor vran though.

Define cucked. Games on GOG are DRM free and I don't think they have censored games.

Unless there's a DRM free digital copy or a way to buy directly from devs, GOG is the least cucked way to buy games. They're not without issue, but certainly better then any alternative.

What game would you recommend I play (PC/PS4)?

I just got done playing Knights of the Old Republic and Metal Gear Solid 4, so now I want an experience that is kind of different to those two. I want a game that's not open world (in the sense that the game is not a huge map full of repetitive side missions), but not too linear either, with engaging mechanics but not overly complicated and bloated. And PLEASE, a game that's not a movie like the latter.

I've tried playing Darksiders but I can't get into GoW type gameplay, and I've also tried Spiderman PS4… But as I said, I prefer a game not too open worldy. I've been thinking about getting Dark Souls 3 since it's only 10€ on the PS Store, only Souls game I've played is Bloodborne, which I enjoyed thoroughly.

Any recommendations?

There are a lot of games that could fit that bill. Maybe Okami or Nier Automata. One of the good Deus Ex games? Metroid Prime on dolphin?

Why did everyone shit on Bloodrayne back in the day again? I missed out on this franchise because I believed the bullshit reviews at the time, and now that I've had a chance to start playing through it - I think it's really fun. Yeah it's kind of janky on the controls, but a lot of games at the time were - and there's not as much depth to the combat as I'd like. But it's fast, it's intense, it's atmospheric… I can imagine a remake done with at least the moveset depth and pacing of a Platinum game would be fucking fantastic.

The voice acting isn't too bad either.

I don't recall anybody saying anything bad about 1, but 2 got shit on a lot.

And I agree, the game was pretty fun, haven't tried 2 yet.

Try to find scans of old gaming magazines, maybe you'll get your answer from horses mouth.

Is there strategy/tactical game(s), that allows you to create a (preferably fully customizable) squad/group/army/whatever?

No, quick-select macros don't count.

I started playing the game and don't want to eventually find out by myself that my wife used to fuck a random violent guy from the city.

Are there any fighting games that excel at presentation, gameplay, and atmosphere? I want a game that makes want to keep coming back to it and improve rather than feel like I'm forcing myself. For instance something that gives you a really good feeling if that makes any sense. SFV, Tekken 7, SC6, Smash, etc all feel really bland and boring I want something fresh and exciting but not overbearing and trying to be cool like a lot of anime fighters and Skullgirls.
