I must have been to at least 20 random islands by now, but I never come across any of these special islands people seem to find. The best I found was an island where most of the water was elevated, so I could more easily catch stringfish and golden trout.

Despite the abstraction and the pun of naming it the "Stalk Market", it actually does have some parallels to real world stock trading. For an amateur, "buy low, sell high" is usually what people say, but more recently, I've learned it's more about evaluating risk vs reward and making an appropriate choice based on your entry point.

It's going to go up or down every day (and I'll assume it will never stay the same), but the further you are from the midpoint, the more unlikely it will go past the value you chose. So if your buy price was 125, the sell price is 100, and you only have more dice roll on the price? I'd take the 100.

I updated my softmodded Switch to FW 9.1.0 AMS 0.10.5 with latest ES Patches (for Hekate) and I installed Animal Crossing New Horizons + v1.1.1 Update, but it won't launch. I used to get a black screen and an error message when attempting to launch the game, but after trying many things and reinstalling it again I get an indefinite black screen with no error message. I tried a "Repack" before with the same result. The "Repacks" I have gotten before are patched to work on firmware as low as 7, but the Animal Crossing "Repack" + the Update "Repack" didn't work on FW 8.1.0. So then I updated my firmware from 8.1.0 to 9.1.0 and after updating the FW I tried the normal releases which also didn't work.
I can't seem to get the earlier v1.1.0 update to launch. With 1.1.0 I get an update nag message. Resetting the launch version in Goldleaf does absolutely nothing and I still get the update nag. I tried the Update 1.1.1 Patched 9.0 NSP that you've linked, but the result is the same. Indefinite black screen on launch. The game won't start.
I could update to FW 9.2.0. The 9.1.0 firmware update was painless last time although I had avoided it for a long time.

Alright, I updated to FW 9.2.0 and did a fresh install of Animal Crossing + Update 1.1.1 yet it still launches to an indefinite black screen. I dunno what the fuck is going on with this shit. My other games are still launching just fine. I have FW 9.20 AMS 0.10.5 and I have all the ES patches as well.
At this point I can only assume that the NSP file I downloaded for the game is broken. I normally get NSPs from Darkumbra Forums, but that shit is down. So I looked around the internet and found TurboSnail (the user that I normally got NSPs from on Darkumbra) is distributing NSPs on plebbit. So I got Animal Crossing links there. I'm gonna try another link and see if the MD5 hash is any different from the file I already have, but I doubt it.

I downloaded Animal Crossing New Horizons [01006F8002326000][v0][Repack].nsp again that I had previously tried on FW 8.1.0, installed that, installed the 1.1.1 update (the 9.0 patched update, I think) then I launched the game again and it went to the same indefinite black screen as always, but this time at the start of the indefinite black screen it made a sound so after waiting a bit I closed it and tried launching it again.
Finally, the game fucking loaded. I have DLC I could install but after all that shit I don't want to risk screwing it up. I got through the walls of text tutorial and created save data before exiting and the game actually can be launched again so it's finally working It even shows some logos on launch which is wasn't doing before. I wanted to backup save data for it, but even though save data exists I can't see the game in EdiZon or Checkpoint. If I run the game, then run EdiZon, then attempt to access the running game's memory for cheats, EdiZon crashes Atmosphere and it has to be rebooted. I guess it saves the game in a different way since it uses the internal clock.

Not with the glitch that stops sending balloons after 300. I mean, if it requires breaking 100 slingshots, and it takes 20 shots to break one slingshot, that doesn't add up. Even if it just requires shooting down 300 balloons (which I'm pretty sure it doesn't) you now have a useless golden slingshot. A lot of people think the game is missing content, but I think it's not necessarily that, I think it's missing specific content. The game has had a huge amount of small details and things added to it that weren't present before. I think it came at the cost of a lot of things everyone wanted to see. Seeing how they handled updating new leaf, I hope they continue to patch it with what people are looking for. I don't really like sitting on hopes and petitions, but at this point its all we can really do

You can get more than one if you camp the balloons. I spent a few hours fishing along the beach and popping balloons yesterday and I got like 4 or 5 new recipes.
Remember that normal balloons have a chance of spawning from the left or right side of the map (depending on wind direction, check which way chimney smoke is blowing) every five minutes.

Yeah that's congruent with what I've learned about weeds, probably true for all things, so if you've got too much wood from trying to get miles (and believe me I've got wood for miles) it's probably better to craft something (maybe tools since crafting a shit ton of them also gets you miles). Speaking of tools, did you know that customizing customizable tools resets durability? So now your net, rod, can, and slingshot will never break. Flimsy axes can't be customized, I think you can customize the real ass axe but I wouldn't bother since you use it so rarely that it breaking on you shouldn't be a problem, and golden tools can't be customized so they're straight up worse, although making them does get you some miles.

I'm having a weird issue I'm not sure if its a glitch with the game or maybe a problem with my switch. Once in a while maybe once per at most i get a weird distortion while I'm just running around doing shit. The game hiccups for about a 1/3rd to half a second and their is a very weird distortion the screen shifts red kinda like it was a needing those red and blue 3D glasses then goes back to normal now its not the whole screen tuning red more that the difference between where my character and everything was at the beginning of the shift and where everything ended up at the end of those frames would be Its almost like a dragging effect.
Its very hard to describe it further than this. Its a very brief thing but searching for any combination of this results in nothing related popping up and I'm really curious if any of you have had the same issue. I have never had this issue with other games but I also haven't played any other games with my switch this past year so i couldn't say if it is an issue with other games. I don't think i even hit 100 hours played. I've probably played more AC this past few weeks than i played my switch all of last year.

I thought you got rid of Reneigh and just had some foreign version of the game but it's a different character. Reneigh's a fun horse, her personality's not one I'm fond of but she's been one of the nicest villagers to me so far. Same with Tabby.
I got lucky and got Marina as my third, and my friend got Filbert as one of this early ones too. Both of them lived in my New Leaf town. Also got a message in a bottle from Camofrog, he was cool in New Leaf as well.

Can confirm that, On the xx:10 for normal balloons. xx:x5 for Easter balloons.
Semi-idle strat in case anyone is interested: Hang out just off the beach to avoid wave sounds, in the middle Y axis of the map, with a music player at the lowest volume 1-2 squares from where you're standing. Makes hearing the balloon wooshes every 10 mins pretty easy to spot while doing other things.

What are some cool islands that you've encountered on the Nook Miles tours? In search of Apples, the only fruit I don't have, I went on five tours yesterday and one of the islands I found was shekel island. It has a super wide river that you can't jump across. You have to break the rock in the first image and jump from that little protrusion. The five rocks in the middle are all money rocks (and so is the one you have to break but you can only get 100 bells from that one), totaling over 80k bells from just this island visit.

I just figured I'd give it a try. There's an island in the middle, I'd think there has to be a way to get there and that protrusion was the only point where the main land gets any closer to the middle section. I thought I got screwed too when I hit the first rock and could only get 100 bells from it, as I had never seen a money rock on an island before.

I don't have any spares, I don't know if balloons drop any spares after you get all of them. I had the worst luck while actually grinding it and ended up getting them while doing landscaping and other stuff and shooting the balloons then. I think I got 7 initially and tried to grind for the other 7, but only ended up getting three from grinding, while stumbling across the other four.
The drop rates are ridiculously low for such a short event. I dunno how you're supposed to get them all if you only play an hour of 30 minutes a day like most normal people probably do.

Also you can get more than 100 bells from that first rock, you need to very quickly catch the 100 bells then hit it again, then catch that again, then hit it again, etc. Can get up to 1000 bells actually if you're fast enough.
