/m/ here, let's discuss mecha videogames.

So far there are many mecha games that are Japan only such as Gundam Breaker, Super Robot Wars and Border Break. Border Break actually looks like an interesting arcade game among others.

However I'm glad that the West finally has Metal Wolf Chaos.

The best kinds of mecha games are ones with full customization of the mechs and a good multiplayer on top of good single player campaigns.

A special metion goes to the SNES RPG called Slapstick (known as Robotrek in the West).

Anywho, post your favorite /m/echa games.

In regards to Robotrek, I wish there is a sequel. JRPGs about mechs are pretty uncommon.

Most of the Gundam Breaker games are translated and SRW games are coming to PC translated pretty frequently now. You can also play Border Break on PS4 (no PS+ needed for F2P games) if you ever owned that console. Gundam Battle Operation 2 is another good F2P game you can play on the PS4 and that's in English. Gundam Extreme VS Maxi Boost ON is also coming to PS4 later this year. Sadly, no PC announcement in sight.

GBO2 and Maxi Boost are the only things that bind me to my PS4 at this point.

Does anyone know how good Daemon x Machina did on switch/PC? Because Fromsoft is gunna be looking at those numbers to see whether or not Armored Core 6 is worth making. I assume it did trash on Switch and did only alright as a PC port. I don't begrudge the public at large for those results though. The game only nailed visuals. The mechanics were a little wonky, but everything else was a trash fire. The game ran like ASS on switch, the game is short, it has the worst fucking dialogue since RE1, a shit story (but that's nothing new for Armored Core. Hello VD) and pretty underwhelming customization for your mech, which is baffling. Like, Armored Core 3 had more customization. Though I suspect this had more to do with the dev's wanting the game to be noob-friendly as opposed to any actual laziness on their part

That's a sin for a mech game. I like Custom Robo and LBX because of the customization options.

If the game played like Border Break with Mech Customizations as flexible as PSO2's character creation/customization then it would be ideal.

All in all, it wasn't marketed well and seemed to just be a space filler for the Switch library. Hopefully the PC version gets good mod support.

Considering how close Daemon x Machina is to being an Armored Core game, and how literally every Steam review mentions Armored vore in some way, and was made by the father of Armored Core, it's safe to say that Fromsoft was looking with interest as to how well the game would do.

Regardless, did anyone see any numbers? The ones I found seemed wrong. Only 20k copies sold opening week in JAPAN. That seems way too low, even for a mediocre pile like Daemon x Machina

If they ever follow up on an Armored Souls idea I really hope they just make a new IP from it instead of tarnishing AC's name.

You know, like they did with Sekiro once they realized that they couldn't make good AI and naming it Tenchu would be a disgrace with how awful the stealth was implemented.

I kinda thing they could make an interesting setting out of that idea, but that's about it, I really don't want to see it gameplay wise, I'm already done to death with "souls-like" combat, it's gotten really monotonous.

DxM is shit though. And that's coming from someone who wanted to like it so fucking much.

Exiting your mech is a gimmick.

Lots of parts variety, little to no difference in play style.

Just equip at least a stun gun of flamethrower (in case you run into other mechs, something that happens every mission from the midgame) and anything else in your otehr slots. Melee weapon likely mandatory, unless you know how to work voodoo ammo magic.

And that's it. You won the game.

Would it hurt to make Metal Warriors in 3d? I don't even need buttloads of meaningless customization. Just give me a roster of mechs, add some optional unlockable parts to each, so I can have fun experimenting, and that's it.

>/m/ here, let's discuss mecha videogames.

<WE ALREADY HAVE A BOARD POST THERE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Sperging aside, it's good to be back. Been playing some LBX / Danball Senki and I'm trying to 100% it before moving to W. I really want to get Ban, Gouda and Sendou to level100 and get their various LBX up to 100.

Yes anon and I can tell you, the best experience you can have with it and the rest of the PS1 Squaresoft games is either with an emulator to speed up things or on the PSP for maximum comfyness.

The robo-fightan minigame in Xenogears is the best thing in it that I wished Square would remake that part alone as PSP game since they had that kind of boner back then.

>Implying Miyazaki isn't jerking off to the thought of that every night ever since he tried to Lore Up AC with the White Glint

Your best bet is DxM and probably its sequels honestly. It's the former AC guys, Kawamori for the designs and its their first outing together ever since they split from FomSoft, so given time, they'll improve.I hope. I liked DxM

Excellent taste anon. Try the A.C.E.2 Vocal edition better and A.C.E. 3 but A.C.E. has its charm in the story mode. A.C.E. is basically what Banpresto and FromSoft(now the Marvelous DxM guy) tried to do when BandaiNamco gave them the order to

>MAKE A ZOE2 REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

to Banpresto and the studio Beck. Banpresto hired FromSoft and A.C.E. was born, Beck did the Gundam Meisters game on PS2.

Later Banpresto and Beck merged into B.B. Studio and made the Gundam Memories game on PSP which is…better than Meisters at least.

Have any of you ever played the J-Phoenix games. They're what got me into AC in the first place, as ludicrous as that sounds.

And yes. They are basically Super Robot AC games.

God, I fucking love how the AC mechs look. They're a bit busy, but they've got a certain military look to them.
