I can usually get through it. It's just that, like I said before, I don't find it fun at all. It just gives me a headache, and when an encounter is over, there's kind of an empty feeling. I almost feel like I missed out on actually seeing the battle and watching it play out. The only thing RTWP might offer over turn-based is a bit more spectacle from having the action play out in real time, but I feel like I can never really afford to sit back and watch the show. I'm worried that while I'm watching the action, something will kill me because I was too distracted to react to it. For example, I'm playing KOTOR right now. I'd love to enjoy watching my character being badass, blasting people with lightning and spinning his lightsaber staff around to hit stuff, but I can't do that, because there's too much other stuff I need to keep track of.
I saw someone say elsewhere that having fun with RTWP means you need to enjoy automating things, setting up some general instructions for your team and then watching them do it, rather than having fine control over the party's actions. I think that's true, and I just don't find that fun. It's too bad for me that most of the big WRPGs aren't turn-based.
