If you like fightans, there's always hisoutensoku. It's pretty good.

It's a subplot from the fairy manga, there was nothing like that in the games. If pretty heavily hinted that it's Clownpiece doing this, but we won't know until the next issue if she "killed" Luna or kidnapped her to save her from that. And it's happening all over Gensokyo, including the kappa river and Yuuka's garden (where Eternity lives), so it looks like a setup for the next fighting game.

They chose quite possibly the worst character for that style of game without basically ignoring her powers or treating them more like they are represented in Touhou games. If you use time powers minimally, it is pretty good, but it is not as good as Pharaoh Rebirth. That is also trying to improve a game by ignoring mechanics, which means the mechanic is not good, or broken. It is absolutely broken in this case. The other part of the issue is that the vast majority of your attacks are ranged and most enemies are melee. They tried to include a bunch of different ways to balance the difficulty, but none of it quite works well because most of them are blatant enough that you don't need to worry about it.
I still had fun with it, but it has a lot of flaws.

Let me lay out what I've found from playing for a short time in melty.
>Airdash mechanics
They both have airdash mechanics, like any other anime fighter. Meltyblood's airdash mechanics can only be accomplished by double-tapping.
Hisoutensoku's airdash mechanics are slightly different, there's two forms of it. There's the double-tap dash, which causes a character to rapidly move forward while keeping momentum, and then there's a fucking button to fucking fly. Flight behaves in an entirely different fashion than airdash, it always cancels out momentum– the only direction you will go while flying will be the direction that is held down. This is unique to hisoutensoku. It is, in fact, the core gameplay element that dictates how well one can play the game. If you are not dashing or flying, you are losing by eating several bullets, that's how this game works.
>Card system
It's bullshit, but it's unique. You may customize your character to the point of irrelevance by swapping out skills and specials for every single character. Patchouli having the greatest amount of unique skillcards, Marisa having the greatest unique spellcards. These cards are randomly drawn from a deck of 20 that you've built as you do your fighting game thing, and may be swapped out to any card in your hand of up to 5 different cards.
>Guarding and orbs
Like any fighting game, you need to learn how to guard. In Hisoutensoku, you can fuck yourself over royally by not guarding properly. Where in most fighting games, if you don't block an overhead with a high-block, you eat it– in Hisoutensoku, you lose orbs. Orbs are another essential gameplay element that represents the fucking momentum of either player visually, and are again unique to the fucking game. They represent how often you can spam your bullshit projectiles, how often you can use specials, how many wrongblocks until you get guardcrushed, how long you can fly for– it's another essential gameplay element that only faggots on high level play care about.

I can see people calling it the easiest game to complete or 1cc, given the number of lives and the massive deathbomb window, but as far as actual difficulty of the patterns and the odds that you'll actually need those things IN feels much harder. I find myself getting cornered to a degree that never happened in EoSD, in cases where even though I have an idea of the patterns in just gets out of control and I die. I also find the patterns tend to be tighter and require more precision. There's also much more visual obfuscation in IN than EoSD, and multiple times I've died to bullets that were hidden behind some other visual effect, which wasn't a noticeable problem in EoSD.

Meiling is MUCH easier than Keine, and Marisa is about on par with Patchouli (which is fitting, seeing as she took influence from her) and both Stages 4 feel like a real slog. Reisen is far easier than Sakuya, but fuckups also tend to be dangerous and leave me chaining right into another bomb/death once the grace period ends; it's most noticeable on her second card. The first two stages of course aren't really worth mention, and I can't comment on the sixth stages yet
