Survival mode in New Vegas was fun for a while.
I was also trying to play without "dying once".
First of all it doesn't work all that well, playing with "permadeath" on your first playtrough on this kind of game is begging for some bullshit to one-shot you. So I tend to limit myself to 3 lives instead.
It was going smoothly, played really safe around dangerous shit and could survive fairly well.
It all went to shit when I got my first follower, ED-E in this case. The NPCs are really dumb can't play safe at all, zero awareness when it came to survival, just tried to tank shit clearly much stronger than them and couldn't stealth around them either.
Kept getting me into dangerous situations I would avoid otherwise and eventually got me killed all the 3 times.

Oh if that's the case it might just be some nerve compression in your spine or jaw. It's pretty fun, kinda feels like a run-n'-gun Metroidvania but with a bit of a difficulty curve (not quite Dark Souls, of course).
Level design is done somewhat well, there's a fair bit of backtracking to retrieve powerups/weapons you couldn't previously reach.
My biggest gripe is with the collectibles; there are 50 "Relics" hidden across the game that do exactly nothing, but you need them to get 100% completion (not worth it except for an achievement).
Overall, I would say that if you're interested in trying it, definitely pirate it before (or instead of) spending money.

Money is hitting an all time low because of economic bullshit. I am finally getting more hours after weeks upon weeks of literally RL grinding rep. My pay is handsome per hour but at 10 hours a week it sucks. I turn 29 soon, in two days. My mother said, "you don't sound 29, you don't look 29". My favorite snake is on his second week of medicine, he overheated but I managed to save his life. I am ever thankful I got home when I did that snake is literally my best friend and I would have sunk into a deep depression without him. His scales are a little damaged from the ordeal but vet says with the meds he'll be right as rain.

I've been playing Kingdoms of Amalur but the awful UI and camera are turning me off. It's a fun game, but it also feels rather repetitive; all that world and lore for me to just run around and swing a sword at things. Unfulfilling.

Playing Age of Decadence. It's pretty good.
The graphics and the engine need some polishing but the game is very decent.
You can choose to make a combat oriented build but miss out on most social aspects, make a social build and avoid combat like the plague because a naked geriatric with a rusty knife is more of a profficient fighter than you, or make an hybrid build and live life in hard mode.
