Remember to play on the hardest difficulty setting. It makes enemy bullets much more deadly to you, but yours too - playing on lower difficulty settings effectively turns most enemies into bullet sponges, and given that ammunition in the game does come with a weight, this can turn into a major annoyance.

Fast travel is kind of silly for Call of Chernobyl imo because going from place A to place B is actually a challenge in that game rather than just an annoyance.

When I play it I like to play it as a survival game basically. I use that mode that causes you to spawn as a random NPC once you die but which prefers your own squad members in case you have any. Pure ironman mode is way too punishing imo so the way I play it is that I kind of treat my squad members as my "lives" and once I lose my whole squad and die it's game over. If I don't play like this I just end up save scumming too much.

In vanilla Stalker every weapon that isn't explosive, the gauss rifle or a shotgun will do reduced damage on every shot after the first if you don't wait for a set number of seconds between firing. time_to_aim is the stat that controls how long you have to wait - a rifle might have a time_to_aim of 3, a pistol 1, etc.

It's set per weapon in the respective w_weapon.ltx file in configs/weapons, just set it to 0 or remove the lines altogether.

Just put it in your CoC directory, run the unpacker bat, then copy (with the full filepath) whatever you want to mod to gamedata in the CoC directory and work there.

If it isn't set already, you'll need to edit fsgame.ltx and set game_data false | true to true | true to ensure your gamedata folder has load priority over the database folder.

None of them do, you'd have to make the tweaks manually with Notepad++, assuming it can open all the weapons files as tabs and mass replace the lines (time_to_aim to ;time_to_aim to comment out the function is the simplest way). If you should do it depends on what mods you're going to run though, like if you're going to use Warfighter or the increased damage mod (depending on the setting you choose) you really don't want to everyone die even faster and make your choice of weapons mostly cosmetic.

All time_to_aim does is making headshot overpowered. It doesn't reduce the damage other bodyparts receive. If you try playing CoC with the health bar, shooting them anywhere but their head only takes away like 3% of their health. It's terrible.

Unpack them in a different folder, it's a totally standalone game, but it can only run when there's a CoP installed in your PC as a DRM method. CoC has it's own gamedata folder.

It's a literal modpack and it's obvious that it cannot run on it's own. They never state that you don't need CoP to run it. There isn't a single STALKER mod in Moddb that doesn't require the base game. Sole exception being Lost Alpha.

First off make your shotrcut properties look like this;

Then you can use "demo_record 1" to noclip outa there, havent tested myself but it should work. Not sure if first part is totally necesary but it doesnt hurt either.
