It's important to note that they said no games that aren't coming out 2018 will be at E3 this year so we can likely not expect Prime 4.

I'm expecting one really big game they might try to blitzkrieg sell (announce relatively close to release and try to build insane hype for it) but I don't know what it is. I know HAL has been experimenting with 3d Kirby but they confirmed they're focusing the rest of this year on training new employees for their big project. Plus they just released Star Allies and will be offering post launch support for it. Maybe a new F-Zero? Or more likely some Fire Emblem game

Holding pattern for this year, with some new info on established franchises. That's Nintendo's standard game development procedure, make playable prototype, if development grinds to a halt because they don't know how to proceed further than that, apply existing Nintendo IP to it. (Eg: Pokemon Snap, Super Mario Kart and probably many more).

If the opposite happens and development proceeds smoothly, the new game world and the new characters "just work" with your new gameplay then it becomes a new IP (Eg: Splatoon, ARMS).

I seriously doubt they're going to release a brand new line of Smash Amiibo after they only got done releasing all 40 or 50 some odd Smash Amiibos last summer. I don't see them turning around and cranking another 40 or 50 out of the same characters but with different designs.

From a business standpoint, I don't see how it would make much sense because 1. You already have several dozen Amiibos released of the characters featured in the game, and 2. What would be the point of making new Amiibo if they already exist? And what would be the point of consumers buying them if they already have them?

Perhaps we'll see Amiibos of the newer characters, like the Inklings, but that will be the extent of things, I feel.

One advantage they have with Smash amiibo's this time around is that amiibo/character design would be at the same time instead of having to base amiibo off of the character selection screen portraits, which resulted in most of them requiring ugly stands.

A MMO Pokemon would be fine if they take the Xenoverse route and made multiplayer more of an attachment to the existing game than the core focus. The game needs to be fun in single player mode, otherwise making it multiplayer is pointless. If the next game was an MMO, I'd like to see something that looks and plays like Pokemon Colosseum with fully customizable characters, vehicles, POHs/secret bases, holiday events, seasonal tournaments, exc. I think for Pokémon Go implementation they mean Pokémon models spawn on map now so you can dodge zubats in caves or snipe pokémon you want in Nuzlockes. The battle system will most likely be fine if not rebalanced. The UI will have to be simplified for single screen but with a 1080p screen pretty sure you can have a menu slide in from one side. I do agree you need to change the way you explore Pokémon with the camera following you. Still can have an overhead view if you het lost and a first person view to look around.

I still want Pokémon to be turn-based. As for the MMO aspect I expect it would be treated like Xenoblade X where trainers spawn in the world as instanced NPCs you can battle or wonder trade with. The game will also balance which online trainers that spawn around you to your party's level. Without subscription you can battle trainers online and offline mode as NPCs for XP, money, and a consumeable item. They'll actually be harder than gym leaders so the reward will be more. You can also swap trainer cards if you want to be friends later. Though mail and direct online battles/trade will be restricted by online app and subscriptions.

not sure about that, but Nintendo said they would continue to support it, and based on GF's past philosophy on making the generational jump* it is extremely unlikely anything will be out on switch before late 2019. *Gamefreak is technically third party so they don't have to grovel before Nintendo the way the first party devs do. Nintendo's business model is circular. Gamefreak's job isn't to sell consoles, only games, so they usually try to ride on older consoles for while longer, since those consoles will have a much bigger user base than the new console. Mario Tennis Open not having the previous MT games amiibo support (trainable AI tennis partners) is because it has new characters which would require new amiibo such as the playable Chain Chomp with a tennis racket sticking out of it's mouth.
