Hey! So I was about to install window vinyl on my kitchen door over the weekend — super sunny day, perfect light, or so I thought. But the vinyl just didn’t stick right and got a bit bubbly. Is it actually bad to apply film in direct sunlight? Shouldn’t warmth help?

I used to think the same! But turns out direct sunlight can heat up the glass too much during install, which makes it harder to handle and can cause uneven adhesion. I remember reading this tip on https://applyityourself.com when I installed windowfilm on our patio doors. They recommend applying at around 15–18°C and avoiding hot surfaces — the film sets better and smoother that way.

Oh wow, I was literally about to do mine this afternoon — it’s blazing outside. I’ll probably wait till the evening now. Didn’t think heat could make it worse, thanks for sharing!
