Was doing Music Copyright Research when approached by 4 Police Officers here in Copley BPL. They asked me to stand up and move back, and if I knew why they were here. Said I didn't. Lead Officer stated that a "lead" from a chatroom/user indicated I was armed and dangerous in the Library. He asked if I had any weapons, I said no. In belongings? No. Asked if I was suicidal. No. I volunteered them to search my things. They searched. Nothing found, as there wasn't anything to find. Female Officer explained while they were searching that someone from a chatroom, (I didn't ask which one) led them to come check on me. She asked if I was participating in any chats, which I am not. "Nope". I explained that I have no phone of laptop working and need to use the library to access the internet. She was very nice and sought to make sure I understood why they were here. When they were done searching, the lead Officer asked some of the same questions about chatrooms, also where I was staying, if local shelters, and both officers asked if I had any reason to believe someone would say these things about me. I had told them both there were rumors about my mother's family, but nothing firm. They didn't ask further. I also answered that my address was with Pine Street Inn, but I did not stay there, provided my twitter, and that I was registered with the DTA and using St. Francis House for meals. He asked if I was able to be contacted and how, I said he can find me there for meals because I have no phone/laptop working. Forgot to add, in the beginning they asked how long I had been at the library. I provided that it was about 1 hour, and offered to check my journal to see if I had timestamped it, but was not necessary. It was a little embarrassing and caught me off guard, but I remained honest and composed, cooperative, genuine. We thanked eachother and they left after about 10-15 minutes total. I timestamped a blank page for this entry, then went outside for a smoke + food. Returned inside, gathered 10 books on legal subjects as I had previously intended, then sat down to read and compose this journal entry.
