I've been going through these for some time now, e.g. the Blue Whale

Some of these groups are still up, even nowadays (been kinda inactive though): https://vk.com/nkrs8

Just interested to know what's behind this. Might be just some 'damned' Russian teens feeling down, suicidal, looking for some sort of a cope (?) in this. There are several suicide cases that were reported to be connected to these groups (Rina Palenkova, attached pic).

I haven't really seen this anywhere properly outside of Russia, don't know why

What's your take on this?
