Apparently according to my parents I have a few repressed memories from my childhood, and I think their effects could still be lingering. It's weird to have everyone around me remember something where I was very much present but I have absolutely no recollection of it. How can I revive these memories? Or should I even do so? If anyone has experience with this sort of thing I would love to hear about it, if you're willing.

You should get a screwball headshrinker to dope you up, stuff you on his couch, and have his way with your unconscious meatus. I'll bet you'll get some real, honest, American repressed memories after that, bucko.

it's very common and not weird at all . your brain still not in full active stage at that age .

>How can I revive these memories? Or should I even do so?

You should not and you can't do it anyway . what you remember is just the little fact mix with your own bias and fantasy . and so dose everybody . except you think there are drama that make you sick or you have childhood disturb . in that case you need help from professor .

my advice is Taoism advice . do not mess with human mind . it's too powerful and hard to expect

Your past memories are filled with unresolved arguments. If they are suppressed that is a good thing; if you value peace and quiet in your life. The past is gone and can never be resolved, how could you possibly benefit from digging up unresolved anxiety (fights). You don't need more stress, anxiety and emotion, and especially a meddling talking Doctor or prescriptions. You need peace and quiet, tell the people stirring up the past to butt out and leave you alone. If they won't dismiss them from your life and move on. This is the only way to become a fully grown/developed adult.

If you decide to open that door to the past, meditation will do it faster, healthier and cheaper than any Doctor.
