I have a Zoom call, and with my current autistic setup I'm using a wall-mounted TV screen as my monitor and all of my light is behind me. My webcam is angled downwards and facing towards the left side of my face. How should I light up my face anons? Does it really have to be coming from a similar angle as the webcam or can i have a sideways desk clamp light?
Btw the wall facing me is unfinished, I can still see some studs so I might be able to fit a light behind my desk, provided it's tall enough to each over my minimum height clearance of 25-30 inches, reaching over the TV.

Samefag, also should say that all sources of light are behind me, including my window. I just need to find a lighting setup that makes me brighter than my background

I use a desk lamp from the side. Might be a solution for you. My face looks kind of grainy from the dark. Try covering the window maybe.

Hm yeah that's what I thought. I have blackout curtains so I can easily do that. Hopefully there won't be any ugly looking shadows. Ordered a gooseneck desk clamp light, hopefully that works.

I don't hunch forward like in pic, but I do lean back really far almost and my TV isn't as high in the pic so it's almost head-level, if I sat straight up. I need a recliner chair with a footrest tbh. No joke, I'll probably get some pillows for me feet so I can lean back comfortably like I'm hooked up to an IV feeding tube

Get a bunch of old clothes and coats or buy a bunch of cheap textile rugs and make a pile of them, and throw sheets on top. That way, you can mold it into the shape you want and be able to sleep and browse on the same surface.
