Electronic voting isn't only vulnerable to direct hacking but is vulnerable to a method similar to what's known as Van Eck phreaking.

The real problem here is that this vulnerability to our voting system was enabled by the FCC.
This is the beginning of the regulation:
The FCC regulates radio frequency (RF) devices contained in electronic-electrical products that are capable of emitting radio frequency energy by radiation, conduction, or other means. These products have the potential to cause interference to radio services operating in the radio frequency range of 9 kHz to 3000 GHz.
This regulation continues to explain that they need an immediate and open ability to intercept and be able to shut down electronic equipment. It's this exact ability that allows a sensitive radar or satilite to re-write information in a computer.
In this sense the FCC has given regulatory permission for foreign and local government to intercept and modify radiation and electronic signals coming to and from a computer.
