Hungary PM Warns on Long-term Migrant Crisis: ‘Millions Will Arrive, Our Task Is to Defend Our People’

Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán has warned that the migrant crisis is a long-term phenomenon, and that Europe’s nation-states must be prepared to correct the EU’s mistakes.

Speaking on the Good Morning Hungary show on Kossuth Rádió, the Hungarian leader noted that “There were many mistakes in the past five years, which Brussels let slip” — and that his own Fidesz party would not be resting on its laurels after a crushing victory in the recent European Parliament elections.

“We will only be able to celebrate our success once the problem of terrorism, public security and migration have been resolved,” he explained, reiterating his belief that Europe could not be strong without strong nation-states — an implicit repudiation of the centralising tendencies of the Brussels establishment, which favours further centralisation towards a more federal polity, along similar lines to the United States of America.

Prime Minister Orbán stressed that the migrant crisis, which anti-populist politicians often claim came to an end in 2016 when massive sea crossings to Greece were brought under relative control, or in 2017-18 when similar crossings to Italy were reduced from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of thousands, is far from over, and that, in fact, “The pressure of migration will only grow further in coming decades.”

“The European population has been on the decline, while the opposite is the case in places like Asia or Africa,” the Hungarian observed.

“This situation will necessitate a much stronger border control system. Millions will arrive, and one of our most important tasks will be to defend our people.”

Not for the first time, the Fidesz leader stated his resolute opposition to the approach of centrists and left-liberals to increasing migration pressures in a time of declining demographics in the West.

“European politicians want to legalize immigration, thinking that’s the right solution. We see it otherwise” he said, insisting that fostering a more family-friendly society was the more appropriate course of action.

“[T]his puts us in the minority, as we took the chance to listen to the voice of our people,” he added ruefully.

“The question remains: how will we implement the allocated budgets? When will European parties realise that pro-migration has more disadvantages than benefits?”

U.S. Virgin Islands Democratic Gov. John de Jongh’s wife works for convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire financier and recipient of significant economic-development tax breaks in the U.S. territory, The Daily Caller has confirmed.

Cecile de Jongh is employed by Epstein’s Financial Trust Company as its “Office Manager,” the governor’s spokesman Jean Greaux admitted in an email to TheDC. Mrs. de Jongh also appears on Economic Development Corporation records as a contact for Epstein’s company.

Epstein, who owns a private 72-acre island, spent 13 months in prison after he admitted to committing sex crimes. According to The New York Times, authorities said Epstein “paid women, some of them under age, to give him massages that ended with a sexual favor.”

In March 2011 the Daily Mail reported that Epstein had settled out of court with at least 17 alleged sex-crimes victims, that several other cases were ongoing, and that the FBI continued to monitor him.

Epstein, Mrs. de Jongh’s employer, has also received tax breaks from the Virgin Islands Economic Development Corporation. Those benefits permit recipients to avoid some — and in some cases, all — of their tax burden if they live in the U.S. territory for the majority of a year and fulfill certain financial and development obligations to the local economy.

Greaux said he was unsure whether Cecile de Jongh helped Epstein apply for and receive his special tax benefits. He deflected questions to the Economic Development Corporation itself, which has not responded to TheDC’s requests for comment.

Gov. John de Jongh and the tax-break program have come under increased scrutiny in recent months.

According to a knowledgeable source inside the U.S. Department of Justice, de Jongh accepted part of a $20 million cash-bribe payout from alleged financial criminals who are under sealed federal indictments, in exchange for favors from his administration.

The Virgin Islands Economic Development Corporation program has also become a national political football since TheDC revealed the involvement of Marjorie Rawls Roberts, a major campaign-donation “bundler” for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign

African Migrants Turned Church Into Base to Deal Heroin

Five African migrants have been arrested in Rome this week after turning a local church into a headquarters for trafficking and stockpiling large amounts of heroin.

The five young migrant men, four of whom were from Gambia and the other from Mali, used the church in Rome’s Torre Angela area on the Via delle Amazzoni as a place to store and sell drugs after seeing a large number of mostly Nigerian worshippers visited the church on weekends, Il Giornale reports.

Italian police officers raided the church this week and as they did so, the members of the drug gang attempted to hide around two pounds of heroin while other members kicked and punched the officers trying to get into the building.

Following a brief scuffle with the migrants, the officers were able to subdue them and found two of the gang members in the toilet of the church where they were attempting to hide some of the heroin they had been selling.

A judge is holding all of the young men in custody, and they will also face charges of resisting arrest and assaulting police.

Migrant drug traffickers have been involved in several high profile cases in Italy in the last few years, including the brutal murders of Italian teens Pamela Mastropietro and Desirée Mariottini.

Italian populist deputy prime minister and minister of the interior Matteo Salvini has been vocal in his stance against migrant drug dealers, often advocating for their swift deportation from the country.

Death Threat: Salvini Blames Left After Receiving Bullet in Envelope
