Hundreds of asylum seekers surrendered to an armed militia of New Mexico citizens last night, after trying to cross the U.S. border.
A group of 300 men, women and children gave themselves up to the 'United Constitutional Patriots', a gang of vigilantes who claim to be made up of veterans and former police officers, who then handed them over to border officials.
Video recorded by one of the militia, Jim Benvie, who has been camping out on the New Mexico-Chihuahua border for two months, shows the asylum seekers walking on a dirt road having crossed through a fence gap in Sundland Park, New Mexico.

The emergence of the vigilante group comes amid a boom in asylum seekers aiming to make their way into the U.S. through New Mexico, and the El Paso sector.
In 2018, Border Patrol stopped 162,000 people in the Rio Grande Valley.
None of the eight other Border Patrol sectors on the Southern border have experienced anywhere near those figures, as the graphic above indicates.
However, El Paso, where the 300 asylum seekers were filmed, has seen a significant spike in the past year, as other corridors in the U.S. are explored.
In October and November of 2018,as the average number of apprehensions grew, El Paso's share doubled.
The video, which was streamed live on Facebook, shows the asylum seekers giving themselves up to the militia, intending to turn themselves over to Border Patrol.
'I literally walked out and I looked, and all I saw was hundreds of people coming at us,' said Benvie.
Benvie and three other men had been scouting the area Monday night before coming across what the U.S. Border Patrol estimated was 300 migrants.
'We held them there until Border Patrol came,' said Benvie.

Coast Guard offloads seized drugs worth $62.5 million

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The U.S. Coast Guard is offloading marijuana and cocaine with an estimated street value of $62.5 million dollars at Florida’s Port Everglades.
The agency said in a news release that the drugs seized in international waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean will arrive in Fort Lauderdale Thursday morning on the Coast Guard Cutter Bear, which is based in Portsmouth, Virginia.
The stash includes some 14,000 pounds (6350 kilograms) of marijuana and 3,660 pounds (1660 kilograms) of cocaine.
Officials say operation involved two Coast Guard cutters and a Navy ship off the coasts of Mexico and Central and South America.

South Africa hit by deadly Easter church collapse
At least 13 people have died and many were injured when a wall collapsed in South Africa at the start of an Easter service at a Pentecostal church.
Emergency services said that 29 people were rushed to hospital after the collapse in the coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal.
A local police spokesperson linked the tragedy to heavy rainfall in the area around eMpangeni on Thursday night.

PHOENIX — A New Mexico county near El Paso, Texas, declared a state of emergency Thursday over migrants arriving at and being released in the region.
The board of commissioners in Otero County voted unanimously on the declaration, which includes a request for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, D-N.M., to deploy National Guard troops to the county, which has seen a surge of migrants starting in January.
Local officials gave the state one week to take emergency action and said they will consider suing the state if nothing happens in that time.

“Otero County will also consider litigation in regards to the State of New Mexico failing to follow its constitutional duties towards the people of Otero County," County Commission Chairman Couy Griffin said in the meeting.
The development comes two days after Yuma, Ariz., a city on the international border, became the first city to declare a state of emergency because it lacks the resources to handle the influx of people.
Commissioners in Otero County have asked that National Guard troops be sent to their region so that agents can return to the field from administrative and other tasks to carry out law enforcement work at the highway checkpoints, which were closed late last month.
"Because of the crisis at the Mexican border, the Border Patrol officers who staff the highway checkpoints on U.S. 70 near the White Sands National Monument and U.S. 54 near Orogrande have been reassigned and the border checkpoints closed. This means that drug traffickers and illegal aliens can enter Otero County freely," the resolution states.
Guardsmen were deployed to the region last April as a result of President Trump's executive action. However, in February, Lujan Grisham pulled the 118 troops working with Customs and Border Protection on the southern border.
Otero County is comprised of around 63,000 residents and includes 6,628 square miles.
The El Paso Border Patrol sector includes all of New Mexico's border and has seen the second-highest number of families arriving at and illegally crossing the southern border since October.
From Oct. 1, 2018, through March 31, agents in the El Paso region apprehended 53,000 people who claimed to be traveling with a family member. Only the Rio Grande Valley sector in Texas saw more members of families arrested: 78,000. The other seven sectors along the southwest border saw anywhere from approximately 500 to 25,000 family members.

Affidavits filed in the cases suggest that the scope of college cheating went far beyond the 33 parents already charged.

After decades of being joined at the big-screen hip, Harvey Weinstein and his brother and longtime business partner Bob Weinstein split in late 2017 as accusations of sexual assault and harassment piled up against Harvey Weinstein.
However, the brothers were still linked in the courts. But that state of affairs for the Weinsteins, as well as several executives at their now-shuttered company and Disney, changed today.
In a ruing (read it here) on Harvey Weinstein’s unsuccessful attempt to have a nearly year and a half sex-trafficking class action suit dismissed, a federal judge in New York cut Bob Weinstein loose today. The TWC board, ex-The Weinstein Company COO David Glasser and former HR VP Frank Gil, Disney and several others were also released permanently from the sprawling case.
After the sexual misconduct scandal broke, TWC terminated Harvey Weinstein on October 8, 2017, and, still owning 23% of the company, he formally resigned October 17. The assets of TWC have since been sold off after it went into bankruptcy last year.
“We are gratified that Judge [Alvin K] Hellerstein, like other federal judges before him, has dismissed the claims against Bob Weinstein,” attorney Gary Stein told Deadline today, noting previous suits over the past almost two years that have seen his client dropped as a defendant.
“As we’ve maintained, Bob had no knowledge that Harvey was sexually assaulting women prior to the media reports in late 2017 detailing Harvey’s alleged misconduct,” the Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP partner said. “Given that Bob had no knowledge of that misconduct, there is no reasonable basis to hold him liable for the unconscionable conduct of which Harvey has been accused.”
With a hearing in Harvey Weinstein’s criminal case coming next week and a trial that could see him behind bars for life if found guilty, the Pulp Fiction EP did see some of the allegations against him sliced off the class action. Yet, Harvey Weinstein is far from completely slithering away from the suit from 10 women: The Oscar-winning producer is still looking at a violation of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act claim.
An August 2018 first amended complaint arose out of the action initially filed by Melissa Thompson, Larissa Gomes and Caitlin Dulan in late December 2017, which claims RICO Act violations. Last summer, a federal judge put that case together with another civil action against Weinstein from Louisette Geiss, Zoe Brock, Sarah Ann Thomas, Katherine Kendall, Melissa Sagemiller and Nannette Klatt.
Along with being accused by Ashley Judd in a now temporarily halted case, Weinstein is also facing allegations from more than 60 other women that he sexually assaulted or sexually harassed them. In that vein, Weinstein is under investigation by federal prosecutors as well as probes by the Manhattan D.A.’s office and the NYPD.
Additional allegations against Weinstein have been reviewed by the LAPD, which sent an initial trio of cases to the L.A. County D.A. in February last year. Another case was handed over to that same office in in August. As UK police continue their investigation, the Beverly Hills Police in January 2018 passed two cases of sexual assault its says occurred in their jurisdiction to Lacey’s office.

Although that meteor was not believed to be related to the Lyrid meteor shower — it likely was a chunk of rock from an asteroid — the Lyrids are getting active this week and will soon be peaking.
The Lyrid meteor shower occurs every year in April, starting around April 16 and peaking about a week later. This year, the shower is expected to peak on or around Monday, April 22, so if you want to catch a glimpse of some shooting stars, you should do some sky watching late Sunday night, early Monday morning or after midnight Monday.

I then called and informed his son from Gerald's first marriage of his fathers death. The circumstances of Gerald Klatt's death to me are still UNKNOWN. The son who was living with Gerald Klatt, Skip (Troy) Klatt was an attorney. What happened to him is also UNKNOWN to me.

Please issue a Presidential Executive: "National Security Order" effective on all individual local governments of the USA, that said Order becomes mandated as of date of issue.

In summary for this Executive Order, it would state: To implement additional security to our southern border with Mexico, due to well known and pervasive illegal immigration; drug trafficking; money laundering; human trafficking, all of which have severe negative impact and consequences to every state and local government operation in this country to varying degrees, and is an issue of National Security; a 1/20th of 1% assessment will be made on and from every local government in this country as determined from their standing liquid worth of cash on hand and liquid investment assets held.
The 1/20th of 1% assessment is for payment into the "National Security Southern Border Fund" per this Executive Order being imperative to deal with the immediate security risk our country is exposed to, and will be exclusively determined for each local government by audit of the Federal Comptroller General's Office, on a case by case basis, in cooperation with the US Treasury.
It is clearly brought forward here that the audit to determine each local government's assessment for transfer into the fund will not be determined by that local government's annual budget, but in the alternative, will be determined by the gross standing balances of that local government's wealth held. Specifically noted, not net balances but gross balances, as determined to be held by that local government, its sub-division operations, and affiliated component unit divisions, in determining that local government's complete assessment for immediate transfer into the "National Security Southern Border Fund" upon the assessment being submitted by the Comptroller General's Office to that local government.
The revenue assessed for transfer to the "National Security Southern Border Fund" will be utilized for the following good cause purposes:
1. To build or complete a secure and more effective wall across the southern border of the United States to enhance security of the United States against illegal immigration; drug trafficking; money laundering; human trafficking;
2. additional revenue allocated to Southern border security operations;
3. additional revenue allocated to Southern border immigration agencies to assist in legal immigration issues, and to deal with in a fair and effective manner any conflicts that may exist in determining legal immigration compliance therewith.

The above executive order will get your wall built with additional revenue for the other agencies as noted, and do so faster than you could imagine if implemented, and I note even if "proposed" for implementation.
Now 1/20th of 1% assessed may not sound like a significant figure to accomplish the job at hand, but in reality it is a very significant amount when the now approximate 200,000 local governments and their owned operations are assessed. And in fact an amount that not only could build a wall on our southern border, but generate the revenue necessary to complete a wall on our Northern border of which is not at all necessary.
I add emphasis to my prior comment above of: "I note even if "proposed" for implementation." the cooperation to complete the wall through "other" means would happen at a blink of an eye for obvious reasons being that the locals in Government would not wish to see a modification of accounting transparency as is now structured within those local governments due to a Federal audit as outlined above being made public. The data from every local government's overall operations and previous year accounting, that is already available can be used to easily and efficiently tabulate each local government's assessment.
In the true interests of our country, I believe the Executive Order referenced here should be required and not just proposed to immediately effect the completion of the Southern wall and generate additional revenue for the noted agencies. The transparency aspect should not be just a threat of federal audit under the terms as specified, but in the alternative a standard requirement for open transparency in the event of a local government's delinquency towards paying their assessment into the "National Security Southern Border Fund".

What Governor Florio said to my amazement was: "I know, I have been trying to do something about that."
Well, every recorder and network film camera caught my statement and his reply. The reporters almost fell over when they heard the Governor's reply. Now if this was truly a free country "in any respect" you would expect to see that statement and reply on every front page and on every network news broadcast that night and picked up by the National Broadcasts.
** What happened in reality was: Not a peep from any. Not a word in print nor a network News film shot second. This was the first stop of a scheadualed two-week tour for Governor Florio to stop throughout the state promoting the largest tax increase in the state of NJ to date. He was supposed to make three or four stops a day over that two-weeks. They cancelled the tour and the first stop was his last.

“Nissan’s production plan for the current fiscal year will be disclosed on May 14, when the company announces its financial results for the previous fiscal year,” said the maker of the Rogue sport-utility vehicle and Altima sedan.
The Nikkei, which also owns Britain’s Financial Times newspaper, confirmed it had received the complaint from Nissan. It said it would continue to cover the issue and promptly report all the facts once they become clear.
The newspaper had earlier reported that Nissan aimed to produce about 4.6 million units in fiscal 2019, citing plans being communicated to the automaker’s suppliers. The move was likely to impact earnings and could cast a pall over Nissan’s alliance with French automaker Renault SA, the Nikkei said without elaborating.
That would be the steepest production cut in more than a decade by the Japanese automaker, as it battles weak sales in overseas markets including the United States where it plans to scale back sales operations, according to the Nikkei.
Earlier this year, Nissan, which has been battling falling sales, lowered its operating profit forecast for the current fiscal year to 450 billion yen ($4 billion), 22 percent lower than a year earlier. It would be Nissan’s lowest profit since 2013.

President Emmanuel Macron has said he wants Notre Dame to be restored in five years, in time for the 2024 Summer Olympics, which Paris is hosting. North Korea said on Thursday it no longer wanted to deal with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and that he should be replaced in talks by someone more mature, hours after it announced its first weapons test since nuclear talks broke down.
The North's official KCNA news agency quoted senior foreign ministry official Kwon Jong Gun as warning that no one could predict the situation on the Korean peninsula if the United States did not abandon the "root cause" that compelled North Korea to develop nuclear weapons.
The statement came shortly after North Korea said leader Kim Jong Un had overseen the testing of a new tactical guided weapon, which KCNA said had a "peculiar mode of guiding flight" and "a powerful warhead."

Hot on the heels of Instagram users being warned about hackers stealing passwords, more password insecurity issues have been disclosed. This time involving Instagram itself. Here's what has happened, and why every Instagram user should change their password now.
What happened?
Last month, Facebook admitted that "some user passwords" were being stored in plain text and went on to state that this included "tens of thousands" of Instagram users. In an update to that original statement posted yesterday, Facebook has confirmed that actually that estimate was a little low. "We now estimate that this issue impacted millions of Instagram users" according to Pedro Canahuati, vice-president of engineering, security and privacy of Facebook, who continued "our investigation has determined that these stored passwords were not internally abused or improperly accessed."
Worrying delay
The fact that it took a month to discover, or at least to disclose, that millions of Instagram user passwords were exposed this way is worrying. As is the fact that the disclosure, when it finally came, arrived quietly as an update to the month old statement rather than as a new notification. Karissa Bell, writing for Mashable, points out that "It's equally troubling that the company would wait for one of the most momentous political events in recent memory to disclose the information" referring to the Mueller report.
What now?
At this point there is no indication of how long those unencrypted passwords have been stored like this, nor how many employees had access to them. For this reason alone, I recommend that every Instagram user doesn't hang around and wait to see if you get an official notification informing you that your password was one of them. Instead, there are two things that you should do right now:
1. Change your Instagram password immediately. To do this go to your Instagram profile and click on the hamburger top right of screen. Select Settings>Privacy and Security>Password. Enter your current password and then enter your new password. Ensure your new password is random and complex, including upper and lower cases, numbers and special characters. Using password manager software makes generating, storing and using such passwords both easy and secure.
2. Enable two-factor authentication for your Instagram account. This is best done using codes from an application such as Google Authenticator. Go to your profile and that hamburger menu again. From the Privacy and Security settings option, select Two-Factor Authentication. Click on the Get Started option and follow the instructions there.

Here's how I see it: Trump wrote the Mueller report.
Reason 1: The "I'm fucked, my presidency is over" part.
That's exactly the kind of story about stupid buffoonery that Trump leaks about himself knowing that his opponents will eat it up and underestimate him.
His public persona is part of his negotiating philosophy built up over years.
Other examples of Trump doing this are the "Gorilla Channel" story where Trump put out a hilarious story that he sat in front of the television shouting at gorillas to fight each other, and that his aides had to stitch together documentaries for him because there is no gorilla channel.
The other one was "John Miller", where Trump pretended to be his own agent and bragged about women who wanted to sleep with Trump. Trump was the only person with a copy of the tape that was leaked because the other person on the phone had no copy of it.
This part of the report is salacious gossip and has no relation to law enforcement or criminal investigation. It was inserted to feed the delusions of idiots in the media and the opposition.
Reason 2: "He tried to obstruct justice, but his subordinates disobeyed him."
That's a reprise of the part of Bob Woodwards book where he claims that Mattis disobeyed a direct order from the POTUS because, allegedly, Trump was making unwise decisions and Mattis had to be the adult and overrule him.
That's an absurd claim. US Marines don't overrule their commanding officers. It was something that was fed to Woodward from inside the White House. Guess who tells stories that make Trump look like an unstable buffoon?
Also, "tried but failed to obstruct justice" is not a valid reason to decline to indict somebody for obstructing justice. It is not required that the attempt to obstruct justice actually succeed. The attempt itself is the crime. Every person who is prosecuted for obstruction of justice failed to obstruct it.
So that makes no sense at all. It's fiction.
