It's estimated about 200 gangs operate in Haiti. This is what we know about the leader known as 'Barbecue'
Jimmy Chérizier, known as "Barbecue" leads the G9 Family and Allies coalition.
"The G9 … is notorious because of the diversity of its membership," the report stated.
Mr Chérizier is a former officer with Haiti's National Police who worked with the Departmental Crowd Control Unit.
This unit is deployed when there are riots or protests and has been accused of excessive force.
He has since become what many consider Haiti's most powerful gang leader.
Mr Chérizier told Associated Press in a 2019 interview that he was born in the Port-au-Prince community of Delmas, next to La Saline slum.
He said he was one of eight children and his father died when he was five.
Mr Chérizier said he was inspired by the late dictator Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier, who ruled Haiti with a bloody brutality from 1957 to 1971 and had himself declared "president for life."
He said his mother was a street vendor who sold fried chicken, and that's how he was nicknamed "Barbecue."
He has denied he earned the moniker due to accusations he set people on fire.

Anons explain to me why an American that is blond or missing a leg you someone that is totally disabled on SSI income only gets $943.00 a month to cover all expenses and if the that person get a gifted and money that money will be subtracted from the $943.00 monthly payment plus if anyone on SSI gets over $2,000.00 in the bank that disabled person be thrown off of SSI while dirt bag illegal aliens getting treated like Kings just they'll illegally vote democrat.
Plus if you are white it's highly unlikely you will even get SSI is disabled the democrats are some very fucked up people.
