White House Press Secretary: Biden Wants Congress to Pass More Gun Control

White House Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Monday that President Biden wants Congress to pass more gun control after an attacker shot and killed three students at the Nashville-area Covenant School.

Breitbart News noted that Nashville police indicated the attacker was a female armed with multiple firearms.

During her Monday press conference, Pierre referenced the gun control Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) worked with Democrats to secure in the summer of 2022, but stressed that Biden wants Congress to act to pass even more gun control.

She said, “He wants Congress to act because enough is enough.”

Jean-Pierre asked, “How many more children have to be murdered before Republicans in Congress will step up and act to pass the ‘assault weapons’ ban, to close loopholes in our background check system, or to the require the safe storage of guns?”

She added, “We need to do something.”

Julian Assange supporters gather in London for exhibition of largest physical showing of classified docs

Supporters of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange gathered in London for an exhibition of artwork presented alongside the physical publication of top-secret government documents.

"States of Violence," which began Friday and lasts until April 8, is an exhibition featuring more than 15 artists and collaborators, including Ai Weiwei, Dread Scott and Vivienne Westwood. The exhibition displays a collaboration between Wikileaks, an arts organization called a/political and the freedom of information organization Wau Holland Foundation.

The artwork is presented alongside the largest-ever physical publication of top-secret government cables, not previously made available in hardcopy in the United Kingdom, according to a press release from a/political. The project comes just ahead of the fourth anniversary of Assange's April 11, 2019, detention.

"The State Department cable set is a unique near history of the world from the perspective of a nation that has overtaken all others," Assange's brother Gabriel Shipton told Fox News Digital. "It should be in every library on the planet for students to study for years to come. On April 11, Julian Assange will have spent 4 years in prison for doing what good journalists and publishers do every day. Durham bombshell: Prosecutor unveils smoking gun FBI text message, 'joint venture' to smear Trump

Special Counsel John Durham is revealingnew smoking gun evidence, a text message that shows a Clinton campaign lawyer lied to the FBI, while putting the courts on notice he is prepared to show the effort to smear Donald Trump with now-disproven Russia collusion allegations was a "conspiracy."

In a bombshell court filing late Monday night, Durham for the first time suggested Hillary Clinton's campaign, her researchers and others formed a "joint venture or conspiracy" for the purpose of weaving the collusion story to harm Trump's election chances and then the start of his presidency.

"These parties acted as 'joint venturer[s]' and therefore should be 'considered as co-conspirator[s],'" he wrote.

Durham also revealed he has unearthed a text message showing Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann falsely told the FBI he was not working on behalf of any client when he delivered now-discredited anti-Trump research in the lead-up to the 2016 election. In fact, he was working for the Clinton campaign and another client, prosecutors say.

The existence of the text message between Sussmann and then-FBI General Counsel James Baker was revealed in a court filing late Monday night by Durham's team. Prosecutors said they intend to show Sussmann gave a false story to the FBI but then told the truth about working on behalf of the Clinton campaign when he later testified to Congress.

"Jim – it's Michael Sussmann. I have something time-sensitive (and sensitive) I need to discuss," Sussmann texted Baker on Sept. 18, 2016, according to the new court filing. "Do you have availability for a short meeting tomorrow? I'm coming on my own – not on behalf of a client or company – want to help the Bureau. Thanks."

Prosecutors said the text message will become essential evidence at trial to show Sussmann lied to the FBI.

"The defendant lied in that meeting, falsely stating to the General Counsel that he was not providing the allegations to the FBI on behalf of any client," Durham's motion said. "In fact, the defendant had assembled and conveyed the allegations to the FBI on behalf of at least two specific clients, including (i) a technology executive ("Tech Executive-1") at a U.S.-based Internet company ("Internet Company-1"), and (ii) the Clinton Campaign."

The prosecutor noted that in House testimony a year later Sussmann admitted he made the FBI approach at the instruction of his client.

"We had a conversation, as lawyers do with their clients, about client 1 needs and objectives and the best course to take for a client," Sussmann testified in a deposition taken by then-House Intelligence Committee Republican investigative counsel Kash Patel. "And so it may have been a decision that we came to together. I mean, I don't want to imply that I was sort of directed to do something against my better judgment, or that we were in any sort of conflict."

Durham also told the court he plans to present evidence that Sussmann worked with the Clinton campaign, tech executive Rodney Joffe, identified as Tech Executive-1, and others in a "joint venture" to promote a now-disproven story that Donald Trump had a secret computer channel at the Moscow-based Alfa Bank with the Kremlin to hijack the election.

"As an initial matter, the Government expects that the evidence at trial will show that beginning in late July/early August 2016, the defendant, Tech Executive-1, and agents of the Clinton Campaign were 'acting in concert toward a common goal,' … namely, the goal of assembling and disseminating the Russian Bank-1 allegations and other derogatory information about Trump and his associates to the media and the U.S. government," Durham's team said.

"The evidence of a joint venture or conspiracy will establish," according to the prosecutors, "that in November 2016, soon after the Presidential election, Tech Executive-1 emailed a colleague, stating, "I was tentatively offered the top [cybersecurity] job by the Democrats when it looked like they'd win.'"

"In sum," the special counsel concludes, "the above evidence, public information, and expected testimony clearly establishes by a preponderance of the evidence that the defendant and Tech Executive-1 worked in concert with each other and with agents of the Clinton Campaign to research and disseminate the Russian Bank-1 allegations."

Biden uses Nashville school shooting to push for gun control

"So I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban. It's about time that we began to make some more progress."

On Monday, Joe Biden addressed the school shooting in Nashville at The Covenant School that left three children and three adults dead and said "we have to do more to stop gun violence."

During a speech Biden said, "gun violence is ripping our communities apart, ripping the soul of this nation, ripping at the very soul of the nation. And we have to do more to protect our schools so they aren't turned into prisons. You know, the shooter in this situation reportedly had two assault weapons and a pistol. Two AK-47s."

"So I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban. It's about time that we began to make some more progress," he added.

Biden previously described the shooting as "sick" and "It's heartbreaking, a family's worst nightmare."

He later added that families dealing with school shootings was "just like when in the military, my son was in Iraq for a year."

"There's so many members of the military coming back with post traumatic stress after witnessing the violence and participating in these children. These teachers should be focusing on their mental health as well," he added.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has revealed that the deceased suspect was a 28-year-old former student, not a teenager as earlier reports had suggested.

The 28-year-old was shot and killed in an encounter with police and once officer of the force received injuries from cut glass. Two officers out of a police squad of five engaged the suspect.

Nashville Police Public Affairs Director Don Aaron said during a press briefing that they are working to identify the suspect and emphasized there were no Metro Police personnel assigned to the private school operated by the church.

Aaron said during a press briefing, 'We do not know who she is at this juncture, we are trying to identify her."

"This is a church that operates a private school. There were no Metro Police personnel assigned to that school of any kind," he added.

Patel, who helped unravel the false Russia collusion narrative with former Rep. Devin Nunes, said the newfiling by Durham is one of the most significant in the entire investigation to date.

- Marcus Wright scored a sweetheart plea bargain after he was accused of stealing nearly $1,400 worth of merchandise from Frame, a Soho boutique, on April 24. Less than a month later, Wright was busted again for allegedly punching a woman in the face during a random, May 13 attack while she was looking at her cellphone in Chelsea.

O’Donnell traced “the root” of Simon’s fatal stabbing to “the complete collapse of the rule of law” in the Big Apple. “When you disempower — cripple — the police, it falls on the shoulders of everyday New Yorkers,” he said. “These disputes are rampant, and they’re ugly, and they’re potentially lethal. People walking onto buses saying ‘I’m not paying my fare.’ People walking into stores taking out whatever they want, using cards that are invalid, asking for goods.” O’Donnell added: “This is on the shoulders of the people — in particular, prosecutors — and those who have argued that we’re better off without the police.” Bragg’s office didn’t immediately return a request for comment. Gotion Inc.’s $2.3 billion “Project Elephant” electric vehicle battery materials processing plant proposed for construction in Mecosta County, Michigan is facing increasing backlash.

The latest setback for Gotion comes after this week’s revelations the company’sbylawsinclude articles requiring the company “perform its duties in accordance with theConstitution of the Communist Party of Chinaand other Party Regulations….”

Gotion received state and local commitments of $1.14 billion when Project Elephant was announced last fall. Gotion says the taxpayer investment will yield 2,350 jobs in Big Rapids. Company Vice President of North American Manufacturing Chuck Thelen told the Michigan Senate Appropriations Committee this week that construction of the Big Rapids facility is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of this year, and production is anticipated to begin on the second quarter of 2025.

The committee met earlier this week to discuss whether to approve a$175 million taxpayer fundedStrategic Outreach and Attraction Reserve appropriation.

The Center Square reported last month that Big RapidsTownship voted for a federal reviewof Gotion’s bid to build on 115 acres in the township, citing concerns over the company’s Chinese ownership. Rather than respond to the township’s questions, Gotion refocused its siting plans to 408 acres in Mecosta County’s Green Township.

The inclusion ofCCP fealty requirementswere first reported by The Midwesterner News.

The specific requirements listed in Chapter VI Party Committee of Gotion’s Articles of Association include, “Ensure and supervise theimplementation of the Party’sguidelines, principles and policies in the Company, and implementmajor strategic decisions of the CPC Central Committeeeand the State Council as well as relevant important work arrangements of the Party organization at the higher level.”

The fourth requirement states, “Assume primary responsibility for comprehensively and strictly governing the Party; lead the ideological and political work, united front work, spiritual civilization construction, enterprise culture construction, labor union, Communist Youth League and other mass work of the Company; lead the construction of Party conduct and clean government, and support the Commission for Discipline Inspection in earnestly fulfilling its supervisory responsibilities.” (Are you fucking kidding me?)

Thelen acknowledged Gotion Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gotion High-Tech, although Gotion Inc. has been headquartered in Fremont, Calif., since 2015. Majority voting rights on the company's board of directors are controlled by the founding shareholders in China.

Is there anything worse these days than being a progressive prosecutor? Last June, San Francisco voted overwhelmingly to recall progressive prosecutor Chesa Boudin. Boudin sought to reform the city’s criminal justice system. Boudin had promised to hold police accountable and end harsh sentencing that fueled mass incarceration. Instead, when street crime, drugs and hate crimes against Asians. Americans spiked, liberal San Francisco voted Boudin out of office.

Then there is Alvin Bragg, the newly elected district attorney in Manhattan. New York has no recall procedure, as exists in California, but Bragg has been taking it on the chin.

No sooner had he taken office than he issued a “day one” memorandum. In the memo, he instructed his prosecutors to stop prosecuting low-level crimes and ask judges for jail or prison time only for the most serious offenses – including murder, sexual assault and economic crimes involving vast sums of money – unless the law required them to do otherwise. The Bragg memo, until it was quickly withdrawn, evoked a firestorm of criticism from the already demoralized New York City Police Department (NYPD), the mayor and the governor seeking reelection. It appeared that the document had lacked internal vetting and had disregarded the political realities of rising crime in New York.

In his recent statewide gubernatorial campaign, Republican Lee Zeldin had his own day one memorandum. He vowed, if elected, to remove Bragg for refusing to enforce the law. Zeldin attracted attention in the state but didn’t win.

The potential new criminal charges against Trump in New York County are straightforward. Remember porn actress Stormy Daniels? Trump’s fixer lawyer Michael Cohen went to jail for a secret $130,000 hush money payment he made to Daniels in 2016. The payment was papered up as a legal fee and not reported on filed federal election forms as a campaign contribution. The payment, Daniels said, was to buy her silence about an alleged affair she graphically described with Trump. She claimed the affair had taken place in 2006. Is an under-the-table payment to a candidate’s mistress in 2016 over an alleged sexual liaison in 2006 too much of a stale and ancient claim to be barred by the five-year statute of limitations in New York? Not a problem. Periods not included are any period following the commission of an offense during which the defendant was continuously outside the state of New York. Last I checked, Trump was largely in Washington and elsewhere for the period 2017 to 2021, and at Mar-a-Lago most of the time from 2021 on, and no one is above the law.

Fulton County District Attorney Fami Ellis may be slow to charge Trump with election crimes in Georgia. Attorney General Merrick Garland may be too tentative to charge Trump with a seditious conspiracy arising from the events of Jan. 6 or a violation of the Espionage Act for mishandling the Mar-a-Lago documents — at least not without the fig leaf of a special counsel. Last month, Bloomberg reported that Justice Department prosecutors believed they had amassed sufficient evidence to charge the former president with obstruction of justice arising from the Mar-a-Lago documents. However, they had yet to recommend as much to Garland. The New York Times reported that a security camera caught a long-serving Trump staffer moving boxes after the subpoena demanding the return of all classified documents. The Washington Post piled on with the statement that a Trump employee told investigators that documents were moved at Trump’s explicit direction post-subpoena. But with the goal line in sight, Garland appointed a special counsel anyway.

Alvin Bragg can redeem himself and go down in history as a prosecutor for the ages, leaving Garland and Ellis trailing in the dust. He may be the first to charge Donald Trump, a former President of the United States, with a criminal violation, the falsely characterized payment of $130,000 to a porn actress named Stormy Daniels.
