FBI raided Chinese ‘police station’ in NYC: Report
The FBI raided a suspected outpost of Chinese police tucked away in New York City’s Chinatown last fall, seizing materials from one of the secretive operations for the first time known to the public, anonymous sources revealed to the New York Times.
The office was one node in a network of Chinese police outposts around the world that officials are increasingly worried about as a way for China to spy on foreign countries and keep tabs on its people abroad.
The Chinatown outpost was on the third floor of a six-story office building on a busy street, the Times reported. It was raided by FBI counterintelligence agents working on a criminal investigation with the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
At least 102 such outposts have been documented in 53 countries in recent months by the human rights group Safeguard Defenders. FBI Director Christopher Wray said in November that he’s “very concerned” about the outposts, which he called “police stations.”
“It’s a long-arm power to show their own citizens inside China that their government is so strong,” said Safeguard Defenders researcher Chen Yen-ting. “We have the power to reach globally, and even if you go out, you’re still under our control.”
The Chinese Embassy said “there is no need to make people nervous” about the so-called outposts, which it said are staffed by volunteers helping Chinese nationals with routine tasks like renewing their Chinese driver’s licenses, the Times reported.
But in Chinese state media, the Times found them referred to as “overseas police service centers” that are “collecting intelligence” and solving crimes for Chinese nationals without the help of local authorities.
A list of police outposts showed the addresses of Chinese restaurants and associations, the Times reported. Police outposts have been set up in Japan, Italy, France, Britain, Germany, Hungary and the Czech Republic, among other countries, by at least four regions of China, according to the Times.

White House counsel: No visitor logs for Biden Delaware home
The White House says no visitor logs exist for President Biden’s private residence near Wilmington, Delaware, where classified documents were found, after House Republicans called for the release of such records.
“Like every President across decades of modern history, his personal residence is personal,” the White House Counsel’s office said in a statement to numerous news outlets on Monday.
“But upon taking office, President Biden restored the norm and tradition of keeping White House visitors logs, including publishing them regularly, after the previous administration ended them,” it added.
The revelation comes after Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, called on the administration to release the visitor logs from the Delaware home as Republicans heats up their inquiry into Biden’s handling of Obama-era classified documents.
“Given the serious national security implications, the White House must provide the Wilmington residence’s visitor log,” Comer wrote in a letter to Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain.
Biden’s legal team has said it has found classified documents dating back to Biden’s time as vice president at the Delaware home as well as a Washington think tank.
Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Robert Hur last week to be the special counsel that investigates the issue for the Department of Justice (DOJ). Republicans have sounded the alarm that Biden’s handling of classified information could have jeopardized the country’s national security — a concern that Comer communicated to Klain in the letter.
Comer also requested all documents and communications related to the search of Biden’s properties and other locations where classified documents were found. He also wants the identity of the Biden aides who conducted the searches.
Former President Trump, who is also under investigation for his handling of classified information, reacted to the latest development, saying in a social media post on Monday “Maybe they are smarter than we think!”
“The White House just announced that there are no LOGS or information of any kind on visitors to the Wilmington house and flimsy, unlocked, and unsecured, but now very famous, garage,” Trump said in the post.
As the DOJ investigation and congressional inquiries begin, the White House has been adamant that administration officials have cooperated fully with law enforcement.

Politicians and commentators are blocked online in Brazil after censorship order targets Bolsonaro support
The censorship power lies with a single judge, Alexandre de Moraes.
Brazil is facing a wave of censorship, targeted towards politicians and commentators that have shown support for President Jair Bolsonaro.
Several targets have had their social media accounts censored in Brazil following a censorship court order from Alexandre de Moraes, president of the Superior Electoral Court and justice of the Supreme Federal Court. De Moraes is known for a string of such censorship orders and for pressuring social media platforms to block politicians and commentators.
Brazilian commentator and podcaster Monark, whose official name is Bruno Aiub, and Federal Deputy Nikolas Ferreira were among those targeted and their accounts were “withheld,” the term Twitter uses when it suspends an account in response to a court order.
The accounts can still be viewed in other countries, or from within Brazil with the use of a VPN.
Ferreira is a staunch Bolsonaro supporter and Monark has praised but also criticized some aspects of Bolsonaro’s politics and says he refuses to push any agenda.
Ferreira has 2 million followers and Monark had 1.4 million followers on Twitter.
Ferreira’s Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok accounts have also been blocked. He also had his accounts blocked during during the election cycle in 2022, accused of spreading “misinformation” is his support of Bolsonaro.
In November, Monark’s YouTube account was also censored following a decision by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
At the time, Monark said de Moraes was acting “like a dictator.”
Journalist Glenn Greenwald shared translated details of the censorship order on his Rumble show System Update on January 13th, showing that Facebook, Tumble, Telegram, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube all received censorship orders.
Speaking to Greenwald, Monark said that when his channel gets censored by a court order in the country, he isn’t given any information about it, or how to appeal, and has now way of defending himself against such orders.
“My channel was censored months ago and in that process I didn’t have access to any information so I believe in this new process I will not have any information from the government, and no ability to defend myself,” Monark said to Greenwald.
“My lawyers cannot find any information that help me to defend my case. I don’t even know what I’m being accused of. This is very unusual. This is not the correct legal process.”

Let’s say there was a memo that would show, without a shadow of a doubt, that the investigation into the Trump presidential campaign’s ties with elements of the Russian government was a sham. A sham perpetrated by the highest elements of the FBI and the Obama administration, all to prevent Donald Trump from reaching the White House.
And all that had to happen for the entire plot to be revealed was for President Trump himself — the innocent victim of the whole sordid episode — to declassify the report.
Or, in internet parlance, #ReleaseTheMemo.
#ReleaseTheMemo has become a rallying cry for the right and Trump supporters (especially on Twitter), who want to be released to the public a memo written by Republican Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) that they believe would permanently damage special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump’s 2016 campaign.
But Trump didn’t declassify it or the materials it’s based on, though he has the power to do so. On Monday night, Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee voted to do so, giving Trump five days to review it and decide whether or not to release it to the public.
The person who wrote the memo in the first place
— Nunes, the controversial chair of the House Intelligence Committee
— wouldn’t give the memo to the FBI or the Justice Department or allow Democrats to describe it in public. In a letter to Nunes, assistant attorney general Stephen Boyd wrote last week, “We do not understand why the committee would possibly seek to disclose classified and law enforcement sensitive information without first consulting with the relevant members of the intelligence community.” But according to Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee, that was because neither the FBI nor the DOJ could be trusted with the information because, as Rep. Mike Conaway (R-TX) told Politico, “they’re the ones that have the problem.”
But Republicans who have seen the memo described it as “alarming,” with Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) taking to the House floor on January 19 to say, “I thought [the contents of the memo] could never happen in a country that loves freedom and democracy like this country.”
Which raises a new question: If this memo is so great for Republicans, why didn’t they vote to release it sooner?
And why do Trump’s allies seem so sure of what it contains?

The green energy group behind a study cited in Consumer Product Safety commissioner Richard Trumka Jr.'s call to ban gas stoves has partnered with the Chinese government to implement an "economy-wide transformation" away from oil and gas.
Colorado-based nonprofit Rocky Mountain Institute, which published the December study that attributes 13 percent of U.S. childhood asthma cases to gas-stove use, is hardly staffed by an objective group of scientists.
The organization is demanding "systemic change and economy-wide transformation" to address a climate crisis it says we must go to great lengths to avoid. In 2013, for example, the Rocky Mountain Institute joined forces with China's National Development and Reform Commission—the government agency tasked with planning the communist nation's economy—to produce a report that advised China to replace existing appliances and generators with "clean energy technologies." The commission went on to set climate goals that included energy reduction targets. When local provinces in 2021 failed to meet those targets, the commission pushed them to implement electricity rations, prompting "dimmed traffic lights that cause chaos" and "half-cooked rice in rice cookers."
The Rocky Mountain Institute is far from the first green energy group to advocate for the banning of gas stoves, which nearly 40 percent of U.S. homes use. But the nonprofit's newfound influence reflects the Biden administration's alignment with the left's loudest climate activists. President Joe Biden has already proposed a natural gas phaseout in federal buildings, which would ban fossil-fuel equipment in new buildings by 2030. Leading green energy groups applauded the move, which will cost taxpayers millions of dollars annually, the Washington Free Beacon reported in December.
Beyond its public mission statement and work with the Chinese government, the Rocky Mountain Institute's biases are reflected in its gas-stove study, academic leaders told the Free Beacon. The study—which spans just nine paragraphs—was based on a hodgepodge of different data and methodologies spanning various years and countries, ranging from 2019 U.S. Census data to conclusions from a 2018 analysis in Australia.
Structuring a study that way is questionable, according to Yale University professor of medicine Dr. Harvey Risch. Moreover, the conclusions of the institute's study differs from what the organization is saying publicly.
"This paper does not do any research on possible association between residential natural gas use and risk of childhood asthma," Risch told the Free Beacon. "It only calculates a percent of childhood asthma that could be attributable to residential natural gas use and risk of childhood asthma."
That distinction is important, Risch said, particularly when calling for such a dramatic public policy proposal that would change how tens of millions of Americans prepare their food. The study was also ethically dubious, according to Risch, as its authors stated they held no conflicts of interest despite working for climate change activist groups. The Rocky Mountain Institute's board, for example, is filled with executives at green energy corporations with a financial interest in banning the use of fossil fuels.

The memo now isn’t just a memo but part of a growing drumbeat of rhetoric aimed at discrediting the FBI and, more specifically, the Mueller investigation. From a scandal involving text messages between two FBI agents to alleged demands for the firing of the executive director of the FBI, members of the GOP are at war
— with the nation’s main law enforcement agency.
#ReleaseTheMemo is all about the Steele dossier
The four-page memo in question was written by Nunes and alleges that the Mueller investigation into Trump’s 2016 campaign was based entirely on the controversial Steele dossier, a largely unconfirmed opposition research document asserting corrupt collusion between Trump and Russia.
The story that leads to the memo begins in the fall of 2016, when the FBI applied for a warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to wiretap Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser for President Trump’s presidential campaign, under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
According to the FBI, that warrant was based on information from a variety of sources that showed they had probable cause Page may have been acting as an agent of the Russian government. But the Nunes memo, according to Republican members of Congress who have seen it, makes a very different case. It argues that much of the information that led to the warrant came from the controversial dossier on Trump created by Fusion GPS and ultimately compiled by Christopher Steele, a former MI-6 officer.
According to those who have seen the memo or been briefed on its contents, the document alleges that some of the very law enforcement agents who were investigating Page, former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and others in Trump’s campaign orbit were doing so with the intention of getting Hillary Clinton elected. The Steele dossier was funded in part by Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee, through an attorney, Mark Elias, and his law firm, Perkins Coie.
It’s difficult to know what, if any, impact the dossier itself had on the Russia investigation. Though its more salacious claims (involving Trump’s sexual activities) became widely known after BuzzFeed published the dossier in full in January, there’s currently no indication that information in the dossier influenced Mueller’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties with Russia, or, more importantly, led to the entire investigation in the first place.
In fact, according to the New York Times, the memo also contains evidence that Trump-appointed Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein approved an application to extend surveillance of Page in the spring of 2017, indicating that Page was considered a potential security risk, not just the Obama Justice Department, but the Trump Justice Department as well.
But for many on the right, especially those who want to end Mueller’s investigation into Trump’s 2016 campaign (or, better yet, get him fired), the memo is just further proof that the FBI is hopelessly compromised, full of anti-Trump agents and rampant malpractice.
They argue that the memo, and the details of the FBI’s efforts to obtain a warrant to monitor the Trump campaign allegedly contained within it, are indicative of rampant misuse of FISA by the Obama-era Department of Justice and FBI.

#ReleaseTheMemo supporters in Congress still voted to expand FISA surveillance powers
Technically, the Nunes memo could be declassified by the Trump administration or by the House or Senate Intelligence Committee, or a member of Congress could read or describe it on the House or Senate floor.
“It’s just so bizarre to watch Republicans calling for releasing the memo as though the power to release it is within the hands of anyone other than themselves,” Glenn Greenwald, co-founder of the Intercept and a longtime critic of American surveillance operations, told me in a phone call last Tuesday. “I mean, they’re holding a document that only they can release while pretending to be advocating for its release. It’s a bizarre spectacle.”
There’s also a larger issue beyond the text of the memo itself. Many conservatives who are calling for the release of the memo are also calling for the disclosure of the FISA documents it’s allegedly based on. Those files would show just what was included in the warrant application presented to the FISC court judge who approved the surveillance of Carter Page.
But they haven’t moved in other cases to restrict FISA’s powers. Nunes and many of his #ReleaseTheMemo Republican allies
— including Reps. Trey Gowdy and King
— had a chance to limit the sweeping powers of FISA, but they still voted to maintain Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
— the same wiretapping legislation Republicans and Trump supporters believe was used to monitor the Trump campaign.
Its reauthorization even includes additional powers, such as the ability to monitor communications that merely reference a surveillance target, even if the communication isn’t directed toward that target. Neither Gowdy nor King responded to a request for comment.

Justin Amash (R-MI), who put forth an amendment to reform FISA, tweeted that the new legislation was “much WORSE than the FISA law allegedly abused during the election.” Trump signed the reauthorization into law on January 19. A spokesperson for Amash told me that the Congress member was unable to comment further.
Now that Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee have voted to release the memo, the White House will have five days to either release it or object (which would result in a full House vote on making the memo public).

Democrat lawmakers have acknowledged that the discovery of US President Joe Biden's classified documents was an "embarrassment." However, it's not the first time a high-ranking Democratic official has jeopardized national security, Wall Street analyst and investigative journalist Charles Ortel told Sputnik.
Joe Biden's aides have discovered three batches of classified documents from his days as vice president, all stored at unsecured locations for quite a while. The unfolding scandal resembles nothing so much as the Hillary Clinton emailgate, according to Charles Ortel, a Wall Street analyst and investigative journalist.
On July 5, 2016, then-FBI Director James Comey revealed that from the group of 30,000 emails returned by Hillary Clinton to the State Department, 110 in 52 email chains had been determined to contain "classified" information at the time they were sent or received. Moreover, eight of those chains contained information that was "top secret" at the time they were sent, according to Comey.
Thirty-six chains contained "secret" information at the time when they were sent and eight contained "confidential" information. In addition, the FBI also discovered several thousand work-related emails that were not in the group of 30,000 returned by the former secretary of state in 2014. At least three of them were "classified" at the time they were sent or received: one at the "secret level" and two at the "confidential level," as per the then-FBI director.
"Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information," Comey stated, adding, however, that "no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."
Meanwhile, an FBI Vault of documents concerning the bureau's investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server shows, in particular, that the former secretary of state and her aide on one occasion left Clinton's classified briefing book in a Russian hotel suit.
Another set of FBI files shed light on a mysterious whistleblower's complaint to FBI Director Comey in January 2016 about the mishandling of classified diplomatic materials by Hillary Clinton, her aides, and her staff working for the Clinton Foundation.
To cap it off, Hillary admitted publicly in 2015 that she deleted tens of thousands of emails from her private email server under the pretext that they were not work-related.
According to Ortel, these missing documents could potentially contain information about Hillary's "pay-to-play" schemes involving the Clintons' charity and foreign players. The analyst has been conducting a private investigation into the Clinton Foundation's alleged fraud for several years.
'Nobody Knows How Many Obama-Era Docs Were Lost'
In light of Hillary Clinton's carelessness one should not be surprised by the fact that one batch of classified memos was found in Joe Biden's Delaware garage near his Corvette, according to the analyst.
Moreover, former President Barack Obama was also criticized for using a pseudonymous email account to communicate with Secretary Clinton over her unsecured email server.
Ortel referred to an op-ed by former Chief Assistant Attorney in the Southern District of New York Andrew McCarthy, who suggested that these private emails "must have involved some classified information."
Given that, it is probable that the FBI opted not to charge Hillary Clinton because in that case they would have to charge Obama: classified information was mishandled on "both ends," according to the former prosecutor. Obama was well aware that they were using unsecured systems, and the prosecution could have seen it as "willful" or "grossly negligent" mishandling of sensitive government information.
According to Ortel, "these precedents only erode respect for rule of law and expectation that laws will be administered fairly and impartially."
In fact, nobody knows how many Obama-era presidential records are missing, Ortel highlighted. In 2018, the Wall Street analyst argued in his op-ed that the Obama administration's endemic negligence in handling government materials could have resulted in myriads of vital documents lost. "How many senior people in the Obama White House used personal or alias email accounts or private servers, as did former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her inner circle?" he asked rhetorically.

Sheriff's deputies removed 11 disabled children from a home where some of the youngsters were made to sleep in cages less than 3 feet high, authorities said.
The children's adoptive parents, Mike and Sharen Gravelle (search), denied during a custody hearing Monday that they'd abused or neglected the children. No charges had been filed as of Monday night, and telephones at the county prosecutor's office repeatedly rang busy Tuesday morning.
One official agreed that there was no sign of abuse.
"The impression that we got was that [the parents] felt it was OK," Lt. Randy Sommers of the Huron County Sheriff's Office told The (Lorain) Morning Journal.
He said a baby slept in a small bed and two girls used mattresses, and the remaining children slept in the cages.
The Gravelles said a psychiatrist recommended they make the children sleep in the cages at night, County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said. The cages, averaging about 30 inches high, 40 inches wide and 40 inches deep, were stacked in bedrooms on the second floor of the house, officials said.
The children, ages 1 to 14, were described as having conditions that included autism (search) and fetal alcohol syndrome (search).
Deputies were called Friday by a children's services investigator who visited the home and spotted a face peering out of one of the cages, Sommers said. The investigator was sent after the county received a complaint, said Erich Dumbeck, director of the Huron County Department of Job and Family Services. He would not say who complained.
Some of the cages were rigged with alarms, Sommers said, and one had a dresser in front of it. One boy said he'd slept in the cage for three years, he said.
The children were placed with four foster families Monday and were doing well, Dumbeck said. He said he saw them hugging their new foster parents and they seemed relieved.
"We're still trying to figure out what happened in that home," Dumbeck said Tuesday. "We don't have any indication at this point that there was any abuse."
The family has lived in Huron County for 10 years but most of the children were adopted through other Ohio counties, and two through other states, Dumbeck said. He said his agency was trying to determine how the adoptions originated.
"I don't believe there were any caseworkers checking in with this family," he said. "These kids were home schooled and they lived in the country where neighbors were spread out."
Dumbeck said it was unclear whether the Gravelles received adoption subsidies, which can range from $100 to $1,000 a month.

In this article, we will investigate Guido Goldman’s German Marshall Fund and discover how one group of Establishment men, almost all of them high ranking members of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), created leadership programs, funded political propaganda for broadcast on various forms of mainstream media, and infiltrated positions within government.
High ranking members of the CFR had previously established a Harvard based program for training potential international young global leaders through Kissinger’s International Seminar. But when the Harvard seminar was exposed in 1967 as being CIA-funded, the influential CFR members involved began creating a new and improved iteration of the scheme, carefully crafted to meet very similar ends. Just as Kissinger’s seminar had originally been the brainchild of CFR bigwig William Yandell Elliot, the new and improved program was also the work of another top man at the CFR, Guido Goldman.
However, Guido Goldman wasn’t only a Harvard grandee, a high-ranking CFR member and the head of one of the most well-connected intellectual think tanks in the US, he and the GMF also had well concealed but incontrovertible links to the US Central Intelligence Agency.

BERLIN, Jan 15 (Reuters) - German armsmaker Rheinmetall (RHMG.DE) could deliver repaired Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine in 2024 at the earliest and would need a confirmed order to begin repairs, its chief executive was quoted as saying by Bild newspaper on Sunday.
Germany announced earlier this month that it would provide Ukraine with 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles to help repel Russian forces.
But Kyiv has also requested heavier vehicles such as the Leopards, which would represent a significant step-up in Western support to Ukraine. Still, Economy Minister Robert Habeck said earlier this month delivering the Leopard tanks could not be "ruled out". The German army has only around 350 Leopard 2 tanks today, compared to some 4,000 battle main tanks at the height of the Cold War.
For Rheinmetall, repairing the tanks it has in stock - at least 22 Leopard 2 tanks and 88 Leopard 1 tanks - would cost several hundred million euros, Papperger told Bild.
"The vehicles must be completely dismantled and rebuilt," he added.
The firm also has 100 Marder vehicles, Papperger said, but these would also need repairs taking seven to eight months before they could be used.
Rheinmetall did not respond to an emailed request for comment on Sunday.

"1988 Ivan the Terrible"
JERUSALEM — An Israeli court Monday sentenced John Demjanjuk, 68, a retired Ohio auto worker, to be hanged for war crimes he committed as Ivan the Terrible, a sadistic guard at a Nazi death camp in World War II.
"I'm innocent, innocent, innocent and God is my witness," loudly declared Demjanjuk, speaking in Ukrainian in a last-minute appeal to the three-judge court that had heard his case for the last 14 months.
"How was it possible for such an injustice to be done?" asked the Ukrainian-born Demjanjuk, who repeatedly shook his head and made the sign of the cross while an Israeli prosecutor listed the crimes committed by Ivan the Terrible at the Nazis' Treblinka death camp in Poland.
As he was brought into court to hear the judges' decision, the tall, bald- headed factory worker, who sat in a wheelchair because of a back problem, suddenly shouted in Hebrew, "I'm innocent."
The judges, saying there was "no shadow of a doubt" about Demjanjuk's guilt, rejected his pleas and an appeal from his lawyers against the death sentence. Nor was there any doubt, the judges said, in their decision to impose death.
"What punishment can be imposed on Ivan the Terrible, a person who killed hundreds of thousands? A thousand deaths will not exonerate him," said Judge Zvi Tal. "He served as a henchman . . . who humiliated, degraded and brutally persecuted innocent human beings zealously."
Wild applause and cheers rocked the crowded room, a former theater converted into a courtroom for the trial, as the judges concluded their sentencing. Holocaust survivors shouted curses and shook their fists at Demjanjuk. Many in the audience broke into singing "The People of Israel Live."
"Death, Death, Death, Bravo!" shouted others. A few teen-agers in the milling, excited crowd hollered curses at Yoram Sheftel, Demjanjuk's Israeli lawyer, as they tore his picture from a magazine and ripped it into shreds.
Under Israeli law, Demjanjuk's death sentence is automatically appealed to the High Court of Justice. Its decision may not come for several months as it reviews the lower court's verdict and sentence, court observers say.
After the sentencing, Demjanjuk's son, John Jr., 22, told reporters the court's verdict "is going to shame the Israeli government, the Israeli judicial system, the U.S. judicial system and most importantly the 6 million who were murdered in the Holocaust."
"I'd characterize these three judges to be the criminals," he said outside the courtroom. "Murdering one innocent victim is the same as murdering thousands."
Only one other person, Adolf Eichmann, has been convicted under the 1950 Israeli law covering the actions of Nazis and Nazi collaborators. Eichmann, the architect of the Nazis' "Final Solution" of the Jews during World War II, was hanged and his ashes were scattered at sea downwind from Tel Aviv 26 years ago.
Throughout the trial, Demjanjuk claimed he was drafted into the Soviet army at the start of the war, captured by the Germans, held in a prisoner-of- war camp, then forced to serve in a Nazi-led anti-Soviet army unit.
Two years ago, Demjanjuk, who had lived a quiet life in Parma, Ohio, was extradited to Israel after he was stripped of his U.S. citizenship for lying about his Nazi past when he moved to the United States in 1952.
Israeli prosecutors said he was Ivan the Terrible, one of two black-robed Ukrainian guards who operated the machinery that filled the death chambers of the Treblinka camp with lethal gas.
In 1942 and 1943, 870,000 Jews and several hundred Gypsies were killed at the camp, which was closed after an unsuccessful inmate uprising on Aug. 2, 1943, according to court testimony. Only 50 people survived the camp, where as many as 12,000 people were killed daily.
Last week the judges found Demjanjuk guilty of crimes against Jews, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
In his request for the death penalty, Israeli prosecutor Yona Blatman reminded the court of witnesses' testimony about what took place at Treblinka. Claiming that the verdict was based mostly on witnesses' accounts, John Gill, one of Demjanjuk's lawyers, had tried to point out the number of cases around the world in which witnesses recanted their testimony just before or after the death sentence was carried out.
In the audience was Frances Jason, 65, a survivor of the Nazis' Auschwitz camp, who said she had come from Los Angeles to witness the sentencing. She wept loudly as the prosecutor listed Demjanjuk's offenses.
"So what, he's an old man. He's going to die. So what," Jason said after the sentencing.
Turning away from the jubilant crowd, however, Tzippi Hoffman, 25, called the audience's reaction "shameful."
"The fact that kids could cheer so blatantly, I'm upset," she said as much of the crowd hurried outside to watch Demjanjuk being taken back to prison.

I've got about ten gallons of vinegar 5% I think, and have sprayed maybe one gallon on the rafters where most of the mold is. Had two seizures about an hour later probably because the mold is going into "oh shit" mode and releasing mycotoxins (defends itself this way). I'm going to remove and replace my leaky washer and shitty dryer, but any input anons have would be HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
Hoping this helps to stop my simple focal seizures as well. Probiotics also seem to help.
