The United Nations has declared war on conspiracy theories, describing the rise of conspiracy thinking as “worrying and dangerous”, and providing the public with a toolkit to “prebunk” and “debunk” anybody who dares to suggest that world governments are anything but completely honest, upstanding and transparent.

According to the UN agency, you must not under any circumstances be lured into an argument with the conspiracy theorist. “Any argument may be taken as proof that you are part of the conspiracy and reinforce that belief” and the conspiracy theorist will probably “argue hard to defend their beliefs.“

An outright frightening dossier released by a former senior United Nations official reveals that United Nations employees have carried out over 60,000 rapes in just the last decade. What’s more, the dossier estimates that the organization currently employs at least 3,300 pedophiles.

In just ten years, under the guise of rendering aid, the United Nations has literally been raping and pillaging countries across the world. The problem has gotten so out of hand that it prompted the former UN insider, Andrew Macleod, to blow the whistle and hand over the evidence to Britain’s Department for International Development (DFID) Secretary Priti Patel.

According to the exclusive report by the Sun, the dossier reveals that on top of the 3,300 pedophiles working for the organization, thousands more “predatory” sex abusers specifically target aid charity jobs to get close to vulnerable women and children.

According to Macleod, anyone who’s attempted to blow the whistle on the horrifyingly rampant abuse is silence and fired.

Sharing his dossier with The Sun, Prof MacLeod last night warned that the spiralling abuse scandal was on the same scale as the Catholic Church’s.

While the report reveals that there are 3,300 current employees who are active pedophiles on the UN’s payroll, Macleod estimates the real number to be far higher.

“There are tens of thousands of aid workers around the world with paedophile tendencies, but if you wear a UNICEF T-shirt nobody will ask what you’re up to.

“You have the impunity to do whatever you want.

“It is endemic across the aid industry across the world”.

“The system is at fault, and should have stopped this years ago.”

Professor MacLeod worked as an aid boss for the UN all over the world, including high profile jobs in the Balkans, Rwanda and Pakistan – where he was chief of operations of the UN’s Emergency Coordination Centre.

He is campaigning for far tougher checks on aid workers in the field as well as the abusers among them to be brought to justice, and wants the UK to lead the fight.

The professor’s grim 60,000 figure is based on UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’s admission last year that UN peacekeepers and civilian staff abused 311 victims in just one 12 month period over 2016.

The UN also admits that the likely true number of cases reported against its staff is double that, as figures outside of war zones are not centrally collated.

Prof MacLeod also estimates that only one in 10 of all rapes and assaults by UN staff are reported, as even in the UK the reporting rate is just 14 per cent.

In September last year, PM Theresa May also threatened to withhold cash from the UN and demanded it “win back trust”.

No10 today insisted there will be “zero tolerance” towards any acts of sexual abuse.

This week the news has been dominated by allegations of sexual misconduct by Oxfam aid workers. It has been reported that workers representing the charity in war-torn Haiti hired prostitutes who may have been underage, and downloaded illegal material. Since this information came into the public sphere, the Department of International Development has called for answers and the Charity Commission has launched a statutory inquiry into the organisation. However, as I reveal below, the sexual misconduct perpetrated by Oxfam workers is only the tip of the iceberg.

When we look to the scandal that has engulfed the UN for decades, which was first explored in March 2017, things become a lot more sinister. The UK’s National Criminal Intelligence Service, which registers and monitors the activities of paedophiles, has warned as far back as 1999 that the scale of paedophiles in the international aid world is on a level with sex tourism. This at first may seem shocking. But when one realises the good work of police forces to detect, prevent and prosecute paedophiles in our own communities is gaining in effectiveness, it is perhaps a predictable consequence that predatory paedophiles target the developing world. The sad truth then is the easiest way for a paedophile to gain access to children in the developing world is to work for a children’s charity.

What then are the aid agencies, particularly the United Nations, doing for training, prevention, detection and prosecution of paedophiles in order to send the signal that the aid world is no easy target? The truth is sadly, not enough, and it is time for the UK Government, that funds the UN and NGOs, to make our view heard. Sadly, the 311 victims are only those who were brave enough to come forward to report the rapes and sex abuse. Many of the victims were children. The UN Secretary General confessed that this was only the tip of the iceberg. But how big is the iceberg? In September 2017 in New York, the Secretary General made a startling admission at a high-level meeting on the wings of the UN General Assembly meeting. Antonio Guterres said “sexual exploitation and abuse is not a problem of peacekeeping, it is a problem of the entire United Nations. Contrary to the information spreading that this is a question related to our peacekeeping operations, it is necessary to say that the majority of the cases of sexual exploitation and abuse are done by the civilian organisations of the United Nations, and not in peacekeeping operations.”

If the majority of cases are outside of peace operations, the admitted 311 cases in peace operations are less half the reported victims in a single year. The total may well be over 600 of known victims. In the United Kingdom about 14 per cent of rapes are reported. If we assume slightly less rapes are reported against the United Nations, a safe assumption given the environments in which the United Nations works, and assume 10 per cent, then that 600 victims could represent 6,000 real victims, in only one year – many of whom are children. That could mean 60,000 in a decade.

What is the United Nations doing in training, prevention, detection and prosecution of these crimes? When one looks at the United Nations’ own website and filters the data to see accusations for child sex crimes that have been investigated by the United Nations, found to be upheld, how many of these people have been reported back to police forces for prosecution? Not a single one – by the UN’s own data on their own data base. Thousands of victims and not one person in jail. So what should we demand of the UK Government?

Google and Amazon are letting the police access data from smart home cameras without a warrant, if they are told this footage is needed because of an “emergency.”

Meanwhile others who sell similar devices and services, like Arlo, Apple, Wyze, Eufy, claim their policy is the opposite, CNET writes.

It was first reported that Amazon was cooperating with law enforcement in this way, and it has now emerged that Google is treating its customers’ privacy the same way.

In the US, Amazon and Google say that “in most cases” the police have to provide some kind of legal justification to access video from their devices installed in people’s homes, be it a warrant or subpoena. Any other policy, such as making exceptions like the “emergencies” one, is not something a company can be forced to do, reports say, suggesting that Amazon and Google have chosen to adopt such an approach to users’ privacy.

Nevertheless, the two tech giants are proceeding with this policy; Amazon has revealed that it turned over data 11 times when the police submitted “emergency requests,” while Google does not provide any details in its transparency report.

The company has an information request policy that addresses this scenario, to say that if it “reasonably believes” giving footage to the authorities who have no warrant to obtain it will prevent death or serious physical harm, it “may” do so.

Some examples given of when “reasonable belief” comes into play while making these decisions are bomb threats, school shootings, kidnappings, suicides, etc.

“We still consider these requests in light of applicable laws and our policies,” Google promises.

And when Google decides to give law enforcement their data because the company believes there is an emergency, users may never learn that this happened. According to a Nest spokesman quoted by CNET, they do “try” to notify users, though.

Amazon, on the other hand, didn’t even bother to disclose, when asked by both CNET and The Verge, whether or not, and in what circumstances, it lets users know that footage from smart cameras has been shared.

This is just the latest controversy plaguing the “smart home surveillance” market, with others mostly related to security issues.

If we are to continue to support the good works of the UN in other areas we must demand the best in class training, prevention, detection and prosecution of sexual abusers, particularly when it involves children. The United Kingdom should demand that the UN demonstrate that the organisation we fund has the best in class systems for training, prevention, detection and prosecution of child abusers. In September 2017 the UK did, through ex-Department for International Development head Priti Patel, deliver letters to UN agencies saying that funding will be contingent on cracking down on child abuse. The UK Government should be congratulated for this. But what about prosecution? Admittedly prosecution of peacekeeping soldiers can be problematic with responsibility falling to “troop-providing countries” but no such escape exists from prosecution of United Nations’ core staff.

Unfortunately, there is a Convention on United Nations Privileges and Immunities which gives legal protection from prosecution for a UN staff member performing his or her duties. Amazingly, some think that child abuse falls within the definition of “performing duties” and therefore legal immunity from prosecution should apply. If this turns out to be true and we put protection of child rapists before the protection of children, something is severely wrong. The UK Government should demand from the United Nations that it clearly states the organisation’s position on child abuse. Does the UN think perpetrating, aiding or assisting in child abuse is really “performing duties”? Will the UN insist on legal immunity for its staff? If by some moral abhorrence some person in the United Nations could even consider that child abuse is part of their duties, the convention allows the Secretary General to waive immunity “in the interests of justice”. What more justice can there be than protecting children from rape?

The United Kingdom must demand from the United Nations a permanent waiver of legal immunity for child sex crimes. What better action by the UK Government could there be than to ask for the UN to have the best in class training, prevention, detection and prosecution mechanisms to stamp out child abuse by UN staff?

During the Covid hysteria, the press, including National Public Radio, pushed mask and vaccine mandates and contributed to the liberal dehumanization and banning from public spaces of the unvaccinated via vaccine passports, while pushing for school closures that deprived public-school children of education and milestone events.

But when it comes to the gay community, the emphasis is on reserving judgment and preserving personal freedom: No shaming, no lectures about even temporarily reining in promiscuous behavior, or else you risk “stigmatizing people” with homophobia.

Rachel Treisman, an NPR writer for Morning Edition, warned on Tuesday: “As monkeypox spreads, so do concerns about stigma.”

The lead, relying on the unreliable World Health Organization, was just as anti-science.

When the World Health Organization declared monkeypox a public health emergency over the weekend, it also warned of another threat to society:

"Stigma and discrimination can be as dangerous as any virus," said WHO Director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

In fact, the WHO emergency committee that had previously considered whether to issue such a declaration was unable to reach a consensus in part because of concerns about the risk of stigma, marginalization and discrimination against the communities hit hardest by the virus.

The global monkeypox outbreak appears to mostly affect men who have sex with other men. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that 98% of people diagnosed with the virus between April and June in more than a dozen countries identify as gay or bisexual men, and the WHO says that 99% of U.S. cases are related to male-to-male sexual contact.

That means that the public health systems can target their messaging and interventions to the specific communities most at risk. But it also carries the risk of stigmatizing those populations, while sowing complacency in others that could still be vulnerable.

As “NYC Angry Mom” argued on Twitter: "Did @NPR care about stigmatizing people for expecting basic human companionship, education, showing faces, and keeping their basic medical information private during COVID?"

After relaying the facts that monkeypox almost exclusively affects gay men, Treisman threw out basic math to suggest otherwise.

Public health experts stress that monkeypox is relevant to everyone, since it can spread through skin-to-skin contact and potentially contaminated objects like clothing or towels. And viruses can infect anyone. The U.S. has already documented two cases of monkeypox in children, for example.

NPR kept at the monkeypox misinformation:

At a Tuesday briefing, White House adviser Dr. Ashish Jha urged people not to "use this moment to propagate homophobic or transphobic messaging," instead encouraging them to stick to evidence and facts, and to do so respectfully.

NPR couldn’t ignore the politically inconvenient truth that “about 95% of infections are transmitted by sexual contact,” mostly among gay men, but discouraged public health from admitting it, in order to avoid “stigma."

Titanji, the clinical researcher, says it's dangerous for public health messaging to falsely suggest that monkeypox is not an issue of concern to anyone other than men who have sex with men.

Treisman quoted a spokesman for Gay Men's Health Crisis, who ironically noted the importance of not shaming people over disease, and how the gay community should be given the chance to approach decisions about sex “with self-love and acceptance,” whatever that means.

A shame the left and its media allies didn’t follow that advice before shrieking about “killing grandma” at people who dared show their faces in public or engage in human companionship during the height of Covid hysteria.

Mysterious Red Glow Over the Pacific Ocean Is Straight Out of “Stranger Things”

A now-viral Reddit thread shows photos of three red, glowing lights peaking through clouds directly above the Pacific Ocean.

The eerie images were taken by pilot Dustin Maggard at a distance of nearly 31,000 ft in the air. “We had no idea what we were looking at. We were making jokes about being in the middle of some sort of military exercise or some sort of alien invasion,” Maggard later told CNN.

As soon as the photos were posted, Reddit commenters had a field day proposing their own theories; some guessed it was UFOs, while others likened the glow to the portal to the Upside Down in “Stranger Things.”

Niel Jacobs, a weather modeling expert, might ultimately have the right answer. He told CNN that the glowing spots were caused by commercial fishing vessels that had been using bright-red LED lights to capture saury, a type of mackerel fish, and even had geographic data from GlobalFishingWatch.org to prove it.

Oxfam failed to report child abuse claims in Haiti, inquiry finds

Damning Charity Commission report warns incidents in country were not isolated events

There were “serious problems with the culture, morale and behaviour” of Oxfam staff in Haiti according to a damning report which has found that the charity failed to disclose allegations of child abuse.

The Charity Commission report surveyed 7,000 pieces of evidence related to allegations that Oxfam had covered up its investigation into staff paying for sex while working on the response to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

It is the most detailed report produced by the commission.

The Haiti scandal prompted resignations from Oxfam GB’s chief executive, Mark Goldring, and its deputy chief executive, Penny Lawrence, and caused the charity to lose UK aid. In the immediate aftermath of the allegations, the charity lost thousands of donors.

The allegations also placed the aid sector under intense scrutiny, and prompted the UK government to host a safeguarding summit to improve accountability.

“What went wrong in Haiti did not happen in isolation. Our inquiry demonstrates that, over a period of years, Oxfam’s internal culture tolerated poor behaviour, and at times lost sight of the values it stands for,” said Helen Stephenson, chief executive of the Charity Commission, which set up an inquiry into the allegations last year.

The commission expressed concern over Oxfam’s internal investigation into the claims that staff in Haiti had paid for sex, and over its response to separate accusations relating to abuse of children in Haiti.

Two emails, dated July and August 2011 and said to be from a 13-year-old girl about herself and a 12-year-old girl, made allegations of physical and sexual abuse involving Oxfam staff. The email stated that the two minors had been paid for sex and had been “… beaten and used by two men who I know work for you …”

It was suspected by Oxfam at the time – but not then proven – that the allegations were not genuine, according to the report. However, the Charity Commission said the charity “should have tried harder to identify the source of the concerns and followed up the allegations”. Last year, the emails were referred to the National Crime Agency by Oxfam and the commission.

Speaking on behalf of former Oxfam GB trustees and senior executives, Alison Talbot, partner and head of national charities at law firm Winckworth Sherwood, said the emails were investigated by Oxfam’s investigations team but “were proven to originate from outside Haiti”.

The commission issued Oxfam with an official warning, which will appear on the commission’s register, and issued the charity with directions to improve.

Caroline Thomson, Oxfam GB’s chair of trustees, said the commission’s

findings into the organisation’s behaviour “are very uncomfortable”, adding:

“What happened in Haiti was shameful.”

The watchdog stopped short of accusing Oxfam of a coverup over the allegations, but said the charity should have been “fuller and franker” in its reports to donors and regulators. Its handling of the allegations “was influenced by a desire to protect Oxfam GB’s reputation, and to protect donor and stakeholder relationships”, the inquiry said.

An internal investigation into allegations that staff members paid for sex was launched by Oxfam in 2011. However, the commission expressed serious concerns about the experience of the investigators and the resources they were given.

During the charity’s internal investigation, information was leaked, compromising the safety and confidentiality of a witness, and leading to witness intimidation, the commission found.

In its reports to the regulator, Oxfam said categorically that misconduct did not involve beneficiaries. However, the commission concluded otherwise. It added that the charity should have done more to investigate whether children were among those involved.

Pelosi could pull Taiwan trick – Chinese state media

The US House speaker could use “emergency excuses” to touch down on the island, according to the Global Times paper

The plane carrying US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi could try to land in Taiwan despite the self-governed island not being among the officially announced destinations of her Asian tour, Chinese state-run paper the Global Times has warned.

“It is still possible that Pelosi wants to make a risky and dangerous move by trying to land at a Taiwan airport with emergency excuses like an aircraft fault or refueling,” the English-language outlet wrote on Sunday, citing Chinese analysts.

Due to such a risk, “the Chinese military patrols, radar detections and relevant drills should still keep at high alert in coming days,”the paper added.

However, the Global Times pointed out that if Pelosi “really has emergency problems… the People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft can provide protectionto her plane and let her land at airports in China's Sansha city, Hainan Province in the South China Sea, or other airports in the Chinese mainland, which could provide professional services and assistance.

But this will only happen “as long as the speaker’s plane stays away from China's Taiwan,” it added.

Taiwan has been self-governed since 1949, but never officially declared independence from China, with Beijing considering it a part of its territory under the One-China policy.

Despite agreeing with the One-China policy on paper, the US maintains strong unofficial ties with the island of 23.5 million, selling weapons to Taipei and backing its push for sovereignty.

Beijing, which has been increasingly concerned by those contacts, has reacted angrily to media reports that Pelosi, who is third in line to the US presidency, could make an unannounced trip to Taiwan.

China has threatened the US with “unbearable consequences” in case the speaker’s visit goes ahead, with some analysts going so far as advocating the use of force against the island in response to the “provocation.”

Failure to agree gas deal exposes how EU will make united 'Stand with Ukraine' until sacrifices have to be made

Brussels makes a lot of noise about the bloc’s ‘unity’ against Russia, but energy request has taken things too far for many member states

Last week, the European Union's Commission proposed a bloc-wide reduction of gas use by 15%, starting from August 1 and extending to at least March of next year. Officials from all 27 member states convened this week to discuss and finalize the proposal, after which Commission President Ursula von der Leyen cheered on Twitter: “I strongly welcome the endorsement by Council of the regulation to reduce gas demand and prepare for the winter…

Von der Leyen’s public proclamation risks misleading the public into believing that the entire bloc is on-board with the vision set forth by EU leadership, but the only real unity on this issue is that EU countries that refuse to cut their gas use effectively agree that those who have no choice and no alternatives may need to ration their supply. So there’s really no solidarity among all 27 member states to reduce consumption by 15% voluntarily. And now the EU is forced to accept that reality, even as they try to spin it into a show of unity.

This is really all about the entire EU coming to the rescue of Germany – the bloc’s top economic engine – which lacked the courage to stand up to American pressure to sanction its pipeline projects with Russia. It then stood idly by while the EU did the same – all apparently without any viable backup plan for their own national economy.Berlin made a bad strategic mistakeby depending so heavily on renewables when green energy is clearly not ready for prime time. Egged on by Brussels, officials talked a tough game about being strong and independent and not needing any Russian energy.

Berlin is still so reliant on Russian gas that it freaked out over a 10-day maintenance shutdown of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, and is now panicking again over pipeline operator Gazprom’s reduction of delivery volume by 80% starting this week_, citing continued maintenance issues.

It’s one thing to cry “gas blackmail,” asBrussels and Berlin are doing, but both brought this on themselves by sanctioning their own vital energy supplies. Of course, it's not exactly blackmail when you have a fight with your neighbor, cut all ties, brag about doing so to the entire world, and then get angry that they won’t just leave their shed wide open for you to continue using their lawnmower.

So to give Berlin a hand, the bloc’s member states have all now agreed that if Brussels ever imposes the 15% cut as a binding measure – well, they’ll just demand to opt out. That’s the kind of “unity” over which EU officials are patting each other on the back.

Malta, Cyprus, Ireland and Portugal either aren’t significantly connected to the EU internal energy supply network or aren’t reliant on gas, and want to maintain their independence. Meanwhile, France almost made the same foolish choices that Germany did by launching headlong into “green” energy, but then dodged a bullet when it successfully lobbied Brussels to reclassify nuclear power (on which it heavily relies) as “green” earlier this year.

So, as theFrench ecology ministry has said, Paris is not at all on board with committing economic and political seppuku in abiding by these new EU constraints.

Greece and Spain also said no to the proposal, insisting on maintaining sovereign control over their own supply. And Hungary is already heading full-speed in precisely the opposite direction, inking new Russian gas deals even as other EU members wring their hands over how they can continue to keep Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky happy without completely bleeding out their own economies…,

As much as Eurocrats are paying lip service to the idea of solidarity, the reality is that the increased pressure – brought about by their own misguided decisions –is already causing cracks in the facade.
