Special Executive Order Concerning Dissemination of Scientific Information
Certain scientific information, although public and financed through a combination of public and private programs and not otherwise subject to classification, has been found to be fodder for certain independent scientists that may be inclined to share novel discoveries freely, without concern for disruptions to the overall balance of power. As independent scientists cannot be controlled or convinced to use discretion in the dissemination of novel scientific concepts, as in the case of [redacted], the individual responsible for recent advances in temporal mechanics and fusion technology, I, as Chief Executive, find that it is imperative to slow the dissemination of novel scientific concepts. While this order does not classify all novel scientific concepts, it does regulate news aggregators that aggregate scientific information.
By my order, any news aggregator dealing in scientific information must first submit that aggregated story to the Defense Intelligence Agency for review before it may be published. It is believed that independent scientists are getting the majority of their scientific information from aggregators and not from primary sources. These sites include, but are not limited to, sciencedaily.com, scitechdaily.com, sciencenews.com, and sci-news.com.
As novel scientific concepts are frequently based upon the amalgamation of multiple concepts spanning different scientific disciplines, science news aggregators pose a potential threat to national security. Furthermore, any entity affected by this order may be subject to action under the Sedition Act if receipt of a Special Executive Gag Order is publicly discussed.
