Notice no mention of reformers, Hus, Tyndale, etc. . just mentions of counter reformers as those causing the Reformation they were in response to the Reformation --- which advanced rapidly due to people being able to read the bible in their own language. Buddhists and Daoists, might also have some objections with this timeline.

Why did the catholic church fight so hard to keep people from having the Bible in their own language?

Why do they still tell their parishioners that they shouldn't read their Bible, but just let the priest explain it to them?
