If the trademark phrase of My Little Pony is, "Friendship is Magic," then why do members of the community act so /unkind/? It's not just a Chan thing; you've got these traitors on Amino, Instagram, hell maybe even Ponychan (which isn't a real 'Chan'.)

Any guy with real friends could tell you that sometimes friends do shit to each other that wouldn't really be considered "kind" out of context. There is a cultural stereotype that people are more kind/respectful to people who they are closest to, when in reality the opposite is true. People are naturally pretty shitty at heart, which is why we are taught to control our behavior and act politely as we grow up. The "kindness" is just an act that people keep up in order to not be socially ostracized. Consequently, it's only when we are around the people whom we trust the most that we are able to drop the act and behave like we really are. You can call your friend a "fag" not because it's kind, but because you can trust him not to abandon you over such a minor slight.
