I honestly have to wonder if there is any oversight at all from Hasbro over how these VAs and other show staff behave on social media. A shitty minimum wage job I had at a drugstore a few years ago had a "social media policy" written into the employment agreement that basically gave them the right to fire me if I posted something to social media that they found offensive and felt was misrepresenting them as a company. I tend to think policies like that are bullshit, but if they're valid anywhere I'd think they'd be a lot more valid for a famous person who is literally out there in the public eye representing the brand than it would be for just some jerkoff working a cash register.
Like seriously, what happened to the world? It wasn't that long ago that parents used to get mad as fuck about this kind of thing. There's an entire thread on this board full of screencaps of writers and VAs saying "fuck" and "shit" and ranting about politics and rape and all sorts of nonsense that isn't particularly TV-Y7. The voice of Rainbow Dash is posting porn of herself on Instagram, is that the kind of shit a company that manufactures a children's cartoon wants its name attached to? 15 years ago this was the kind of shit that made the news and became a huge scandal.

I'm not a legal expert, but I'd imagine behavior policing gets a bit more complicated when it comes to big entertainment companies and celebrities. The VAs probably had to sign something at some point that limited what they could do in association with the brand; i.e. Tara Strong probably can't make an anti-Trump political ad using Twilight's voice. But in reality, the companies hiring these people really only care about the money, so they only really care about shit that they think could probably impact their profits. Parents these days are so fucking apathetic about what their kids are exposed to that they don't even complain about objectionable stuff that's in the content itself. Getting a group of parents large enough to get Hasbro's attention angry about something one of the VAs did on social media would be a monumental task, which Hasbro probably realizes. They're willing to take the risk of hiring some crazy Z-list actresses cause they know that the chance it could come back to bite them is one in a million.
