Season 3 gave us Alicorn Twilight, and the season 4 finale turned off a lot of people, but ultimately, season 6 was, by my observation, the final nail in the coffin, for the vast majority of the fandom. It never really recovered from there.

Exactly my progression. Show started bleeding badly S4 but it took until S6 for me to just shut it off (which I did pretty early in the season). Last episodes I truly enjoyed were somewhere around mid-S5. I may have watched all of two episodes in their entirety between mid-S6 and now, I don't even remember for sure. Mostly it's just been rolling my eyes at clips from the show posted here. (I still lurk /pone/ from time to time, maybe once a week for a hot minute, haven't posted in over a year though. Don't know what's compelling me to do so now tbh, but have a new UID for a few days.)

I tried giving Season 7 a chance but couldn't handle it. Since then I pretty much only watched the season openers/finales, but I watched a handful of Season 8 and most of Season 9 so far.
