I really dislike this snarky, cynical tone that the writing in many of these later episodes is taking.
Like at the end, when Glimmer suggests having set office hours, Silverstream implies that it might not help that much, and then states that Glimmer actually WASN'T that helpful as a guidance counselor. So Starlight's entire job as a "reformed character" was thrown into question, but no one remarks on this and the episode just ends.
Why the fuck would they even have her say that? Little moments like that keep happening in every other episode, lines that imply that characters' roles or lessons learned are irrelevant or unimportant, and it all feels so cynical and mean. I want my genuine characters and story lessons back.

I'm always conflicted about Glimmer/Trixie episodes, because while I like their chemistry, Glimmer was better as a villain, both in looks and character, for now she is but a Mary Sue, or rather, Mare Sue :^).
Anyway, was alright even if I had to see that faggot Not-Sheldon pony until the brother (which I feel like hasn't ever been brought up before) barged into the party. After that the episode was absolute dogshit, so 5/10, fuck you for ruining cockatrices.

I remember watching some episodes a season or two ago, and then watching the Season 2 opener around the same time, and the Mane Six were acting remarkably close to the Discorded Mane Six.
