It was a mediocre episode played after a really shitty episode, so I guess it was by default going to be elevated in terms of fan response. We got a little more apple family lore, namely that Applebloom was alive before their parents died, but it all feels really inappropriate for season 9. Applebloom acting like a foal believing in silly things made sense back when the CMC were younger and trying to earn cutie marks, but when the crew are all but a mare body model away from being shown as the young mares they are? It's interesting how S9 seems to have reverted the CMC back to the early seasons' models plus CM whereas pics 2 and 3 show they had given them more of an enlarged filly body when they got older.

Applejack's expression from 2:07 to 2:08 is very sexy for some reason. In fact, her expressions throughout this episode in general are pretty attractive (excluding the occasional needlessly hyperbolic expressions), though Applejack is quite an attractive pony~
These stupid exaggerated faces the ponies make every few minutes every fucking new episode is really starting to get on my nerves. Does the animation staff have any idea how utterly obnoxious that is? This isn't Ren and Stimpy, it's My Little Pony. Shit like that should be once in a blue moon.
Anyway, kind of a retarded and pointless episode that put Applejack out of character (Feeling Pinkie Keen for reference; Applejack likely would have still believed the old foal's tale, especially not simply because she decided not to look for it anymore; maybe someone would like to prove me wrong with proper argumentation and evidence/sources?). 5/10.

They might have distant relations with the Pears like the Oranges (which that shitty, overrated fucking episode didn't acknowledge, let alone the fact that about all the fucking pear trees suddenly what, "disappearing"? It's almost like the writers wanted to shoe-horn in a Romeo and Juliet-style story at the cost of established facts, which is made worse by the fact that that sort of story is so overdone, and so fucking cliched, that the original play itself is my least-liked of Shakespeare's works, through no fault of his own), but the siblings are Apples through and through. (It also doesn't help that we've never seen them in flashbacks before that shitty fucking episode.)
At least I have some sense of taste. The Pear-Apple relationship breaks pre-established canon and therefore I can pretend it doesn't exist. Which is a lot harder to do, unlike, say, SW. It's a really bad sign that I want Gen 5 to happen already so the staff stops raping Gen 4.
