Well here we are, episode 200. Incredible to think that our small horse show has had this longevity. Legit, there are very few animated shows that ever make it this far.
So this episode is meant to be a love letter to the Mane 6 VAs, allowing them to have their characters do what they always wanted to see them do but hadn't up until this point had the chance. The VAs have a "story by" credit with Haber & Dubuc doing the actual writing duties.

Well, on the one hand, the show would be nothing without the fans, and pandering to VAs (who went on strike IIRC) instead of at least the staff as a whole does not feel right, and on the other, the fan panda-ring episode wasn't very good with way too much shit thrown into the mere 20 minutes the show has to work with, and even if this episode will likely be bad and nonsensical, at least we might have some fun with it?

Quite frankly, I just don't understand how it can be so hard to write a good story, even with supposed heavy-handed executive meddling. The new writers should have watched the old series to do their research. Even if they think nothing of the series, they could at least try, since they are writers, and writing is an artform, but I suppose like most artforms, there is no integrity left.

A character has to do something really hateworthy in order for me to hate them. Applejack has always been the most boring and worst pony of the Mane Six. Any episode revolving her so far has been a total fucking waste on this uninteresting character. Spike got on my shitlist after the 4th season hyped up the Equestria Games nonstop, only for it to be wasted on a cringeworthy Spike episode. And Twilight is a fucking mess of a personality. 25% Celestia modesty + 75% Pinkie craziness is basically Twilight in a nutshell. Not doing either stolen shtick as well as Celestia or Pinkie. And then there's her pozzed voice actress (Tara Strong), who is the most lefty-ist retard of the whole cast. Total Trump Derangement Syndrome and hater of all things rightwing.
