But yeah, I'm absolutely shocked at how this board could go so wrong. If we could shut down the wordfilter from 8chan's /mlp/, we'd have a better chance at making a fun and free pony board there than dealing with this ever shrinking circlejerk of angst and hopelessness.
The only problem with mlpol is that I, and presumably many other people too would like to enjoy ponies without politics. Using a board like /sp/ for ponies would work well, but it's hard to get the sheeple to move in the first place and even harder to get them to a sub-board of another board.

As 4chan is shit for reasons that don't need repeating, mlpol has too much politics, /pone/ is divided between people who want to kill it and people who don't have a better place to go, I started a new board at http://poni.fun . I know the chances of it taking off are slim, but since most of the people on current boards grudgingly stay on them because all other alternatives have something wrong with them, it's worth a shot. It is more welcoming to newcomers than /pone/ so hopefully it will draw more people away from /mlp/ too, although again, the chances are slim. Come check it out if you want to get away from the grumpy miserabilists hastening the death of their own board and want to actually enjoy ponies and have fun!

Look at halfchan as a good example of this theory. /b/ and /pol/ are notorious for being unusable cesspits of low functioning autism, while relatively slow boards like /mlp/ and /r9k/ are at the very least useable, good by no means, but useable. The same applies to just about everything, on the internet and IRL. The higher the user base the lower the quality of poster by capita.
Don’t get me wrong even I think this place is too slow sometimes, but it’s a fair price to pay for engaging posts, rather than (you)s. This place is within a sweet spot of having enough activate users to be functional, but not a user more.
