RAMALLAH, West Bank — Palestinians offered no gratitude after the reported assassination attempt on U.S. conservative activist Charlie Kirk, dismissing him as a white supremacist and an outspoken supporter of Israel.
“He is not someone we sympathize with. He always stood against us,” said Omar Nasser, a 26-year-old in Ramallah. “Why should we thank him or mourn for him when our own people are killed every day?”
On Palestinian social media, users said global concern over Kirk’s fate highlighted what they view as hypocrisy, noting that far fewer voices speak out when Palestinians die in the ongoing conflict.
Kirk, a polarizing figure in American politics, has been widely criticized for promoting far-right causes and for his close alignment with pro-Israel positions — a stance that has fueled Palestinian anger.
