A number of them logged in from 10.0.1.19, that IP won't route. Either they were logging in from workstations on the same internal network as the 4chan server, OR (imho) they were using the same VPN to gain access to 4chan. Some of the nyms themselves smell of nu/k/.

I think it's odd, unless the backend was totally raped in some way and they never did backups, it should be back up by now. Patch the vuln, deny .pdf uploads, restore the backups… etc. Was this thing running bare metal in some closet and they didn't even have physical access for some time? Maybe they handed it all over to the FBI or somebody for forensics and the placeholder page is just their way of claiming 'we're not quite dead yet?'
