China faces 245% Trump tariff Anonymous 04/16/25 (Wed) 15:28:11 03d7cd No. 13581950

>The White House said China is facing up to a 245 percent tariff on imports to the U.S. "as a result of its retaliatory actions," as the trade war between the world's two largest economies continues to heat up.
LOL
>China appointed Li Chenggang as its new trade negotiator on Wednesday in the midst of its tariff fight with the U.S, a move that may signal a change in style from Beijing.

Unironically why not 1000% tariffs?

Look up Trump's Treasury Secretary. He's a super genius professor who's taught at the highest Ivy League schools. One of his specialty interests is economic shock testing. Now think back to COVID - all of a sudden supply chains were upset resulting in massive disruption of trade and manufacturing. Toilet paper ran out, etc. China could simply stop all their products from coming to the US or nearby countries, and have us by the balls. At any moment.
Instead, before that could happen at some point in the future, which it probably would for one pretext or another on one or both sides, doesn't matter, Trump is making it happen now, before they're prepared and ready. He took the initiative and it was likely due to the advice of certain people.

Trump Tariffs will be a nice match for his epic failure on Deporting The Wetbacks.
Wetbacks and gutting US Economy are both Jewish programs so don't expect Trump to fix either.
Trump Tariffs is just Trump creating some phony "chaos" in the Markets so his Jewish owners can do some Insider Trading.
From Day One in 2015, Trumps real job is to DISPLACE any even semi-legit America First people, like even meek and mild Libertarian Tard (but "Supports Israel") Ron Paul.
Control the Opposition by leading it (right off a cliff).
Just as Trump's deportation suddenly switched from his promise to deport 10s of millions of Wetbacks to "college students who question Israel", Trump's Tariffs have already switched from "bringing manufacturing jobs back to USA" to "insider deals for Jewish scammers".
IMO we will soon see a match to Trump's new Wetback Amnesty (which will be about 10X greater than Reagan Amnesty due to increased numbers) in the Trade Dept. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/money/agriculture/2025/04/11/route-for-legalizing-undocumented-farmworkers-suggested-by-trump-usda-deportations/83042432007/
It will be "We want Trade, Trade is good, but it has to be done right" which will be code for some Jews being handed a franchise to collect minor tariffs but pocket the money.

Only what the burgers really need to buy will be bought with these tariffs, so it's just a tax on American consumers when they have no alternative.
China have said it's no point in going over 125%, and I think they are correct.

be nice if that were true.
But IMO it would take at least actual Laws passed by slow moving steady Congress before anyone is going to invest in new manufacturing in USA due to increased Tariffs.
Pretty sure even minor products like cheap screwdriver factory takes well over a year to set up, and thats if you can lease pre-built factory/warehouse, and Trump is really only going to have any power until the GOP loses in the Mid-Terms.
I'd have to see Trump Tariffs enshrined like ObamaCare to even think about investing in bringing jobs back to USA.

The tariffs are good from the single reason that they have started the debate on winners and losers from Globalization.
Free trade and open borders made a society where the 10% richest consume 50% and own 88% of the assets and where the USA add one trillion in debt every 100 days.

4 points:
1)due to "invisible hand" and "opportunity costs" of Foreign Producer, Tariffs will be split 50/50 between Consumer/Foreign Producer's Profits.
Having someone legit pay 1/2 of your Tax Burden is best deal you will ever get.
2)Tariffs on the CONSUMER aren't a "tax increase", so much as they are just a "change in the point of the economy where given tax level is collected". If Tariffs go up, Income Tax can go down. That simple Accounting fact is what Ivy League Economics professors all have to play dumb about, to push their dogma of Globalism. They are no diff than their counterparts in USSR in 1950 doing maths that say Communism is best. Ask one and it will be like asking a History Prof some pointed questions about the Holohoax. Suddenly they wont have time.
3)Tariffs are really the best way and place to collect Taxes, for a few reasons. Its unfortunate they somehow become some Jr High School level playground face off. Since one of the major effects is to tax and dissuade stuff like Govt tax funded schemes to "increase exports" (which means general tax going to few select insiders) they are a TAX ON GOVT and actually good for the nation being Tariff-ed, if the products being Tariff are Govt subsidized (which most are). Tariffs are also good because unlike Income or Sales tax, there is smart motivated group singled out for being hurt, so at least you got SOMEBODY willing to at least question The Govt taking more of our hard earned money and for WTF? At least maybe some of those smart people can suggest a cheaper or better way to address WTF The Govt says it needs money for.
4)Taxes can do two things:
a)fund Govt programs.
b)Punish unwanted behavior (sin tax).
IRS punishes Gainful Employment (and by extension Education, Job Training, "trying hard", etc).
Sales Tax punishes….sales and commerce, and the Economy in general.
Property Tax punishes owning and IMPROVING property, and "nice neighborhoods".
Tariffs punish Foreign Entanglements and spending money on something you could do for yourself.

Not the case with 245% tariffs.
Probably mostly true for a 10% tariff.

Debt is hidden tax of Inflation when Money Printer go burrrr…..
but as far as Ways To Tax, is Inflation really that bad?
1)its somewhat, like Tariffs, "low friction" since its just one big electronic money printer, not 200 million Mom and Pop's confused with bookkeeping. Sure, I guess clerks need to raise prices, but prices change regardless.
2)It keeps people from hoarding value in unless fictional "cash" VS investing in real value.
3)Its at least "big pic" transparent and an issue that can be debated on national level on MSM talk shows. Not like 1,000,001 little hidden taxes that show up in increased prices a dozen points in the Economy removed.
Only real downside is unlike Tariffs or even Income Tax, there is even less of "pain point" for anyone to object to defacto Tax Increase and Govt bloat, which is I guess why Fed Govt has become defacto Funded By Inflation.
We keep getting all these non-emergency "Emergencies" that are "off budget" and "we have to just spend WTF and worry later" such as Gulf Wars, Covid, Globo-Warming, "Migrants", "Refugees" etc.

Maybe, maybe not.
KKK website hosts claims that there is a "transshipment scam" where sneakers that cost $5 to make in China or similar are hoax-shipped (paperwork only, no or little docking/unloading) through a nation with no taxes on profits and prices are hoax-increased to $50, then when brought into USA (with low if any tariffs) then sold to FootLocker for $52 wholesale, the "profit" is only $2.
Claim is if this was corrected it could more than fund entire Fed Budget.
They didn't mention it but if true would also mean maybe its not so impossible for USA to domestically produce stuff like sneakers.
IIRC the top end New Balance were made in Scotland and they weren't THAT much more than high end China, etc, and "you get WTF you pay for".
Pretty sure most Electronics is 98% setup costs, and minimal "next unit" cost.

>Nah. Steven Miller is a real believer.
Miller is a Jew and his main push during first Trump Admin was keeping all non-Jewish immigration hawks the fuck out of Trump Admin.
In other words, anyone who not be all talk, no action.
Unless you see 100+ long trains of cattle-cars loaded with 200 Wetbacks apiece and US military rounding up Wetbacks at bayonet point in our suburbs (like Ike did to ruin our schools before others ruined them with Wetbacks) then its defacto not just Amnesty but an open invitation for more to come.
Only thing any Wetbacks are thinking after watching Trump and rest of his Border Bozos is "there is an outside chance they might make it legit a bit harder to enter and 'establish' in USA in near future, so we'd better go while the going is good".
I'm not buying that Trump has even slowed down the Border Bum Rush. One of the valid arguments against the Great Trump Wall was "most illegals come into USA on airlines"…. and those that don't fly come through the massive LEGAL border crossings that IIRC over a million "commuters" use daily. They just wont return if the overland routes in wilderness are sealed.
IMO all that has happened is Mexico is temporary short of would be Wetbacks, after the Biden years. Like this, but different. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predator_satiation

Orange man is going to destroy the economic lives of tens of millions of Americans. No maybe about it, it's assured at this point. America is alone, isolated, just like orange man wanted. We have Russia, El Salvador & North Korea on our side & the rest of the world hates us. Fact. If you voted for this conman, felon, rape ape moron then my advice would be to keep it to yourself because, IMO, it won’t be long until MAGATURDZ begin getting processed by wood chippers into pig food all across the USA. i never believed tarriffs is the end goal, it's just a weapon used to temporarily restrain other countries and single out china
you cant outright "force" companies back to US and we're aware china has stockpile of cheaply produced goods waiting in their warehouses ready to flood the world
we have to take the initiative and go on offense before china does
only EU was retarded enough to throw fits when the rest of the world saw the tea leafs and all folded, of course now EU is telling china to not up their export because gee wouldn't it be bad for their markets…
the whole "tariff panic" is retarded and yes we voted for this

A factory where I live in Norway make fiber boards, and they have hundreds people doing office work like sales, marketing , accounting, and 30-40 employees making the boards in the factory.
If some burger import shoes from China and sell them in the USA, then doing that is work as well.
The point is anyway that the production cost is not really related to the sales cost after automation, since the big expense is selling the product.
