I had a nicely cultivated set of threads to browse on 4chan that, while not always busy, were still active. Coming here I either cannot find the equivalent threads or when I do they're slow to the point of not being active in 5-10 years. Then I check sharty for 5 seconds and don't bother looking past /pol/. This place is probably going to be the most active, usable, chan for the time being.

Non-paid accounts are basically shadowbanned. In fact you can often get replies to something which won't show up even if you click on the 'show hidden posts' button and then click AGAIN on the 'show potentially offensive posts' button. Either it's mods doing annotations on your account, which remain hidden for whatever reason or… there are a good 20-30% of accounts whose posts won't show up at all under any circumstances except as a count in some database's black hole.

The only advantage is that staff of various boards generally disliked each other, you didn't have a troonarchy like on 4chan where all the staff will collaborate in taking down people they don't like and cover for each other's wrongdoings.
