with time. another poster in the other refugee thread put it well. totse community by and large found themselves home again with the chans because we want the most unfiltered open forum possible. yeah, half of the board is shills and glowies, but that’s how you know you’re hanging out in a happening place, and that’s where we all want to be. but this takes time, I only came to that conclusion about five years ago despite lurking and occasionally posting on 4chan since 2009 lol
I think I want it to stay down, it’ll shake things up a bit and change the landscape of current internet. the absence of the quarantine and pressure valve, intended or otherwise, that 4chan served as will be interesting to watch.

They have a big problem.
They will have to restore everything from backup.
Are the backups even good? Do they even do backups?
All the passwords have to be locked.
The code release shows lots of vulnerabilities. They can be taken down again immediately. It'll take weeks to patch them if not longer.
It looks like they haven't touched the code for years. Old OS, old php, old code.
Realistically … they have to go from a known safe system -> wipe and deploy the servers
Build and deploy the the service code from source on top.
Restore the data backups.
They could probably do it in a couple of days if they had an well managed automated system, but nothing about this looks automated or well managed and that's not even accounting for all the exploits in the now released code.
There's a pretty good chance they're permanently dead, or at least down for weeks to months.
