there is actually a "compass" portion too, check out the "horns" on the sides of the triangle in which we see the idol.
one thing to understand is that the square and compass and the star of israel are the same thing. the star is 2 triangles overlaid, one pointing up, one down. it symbolizes the great architect of the universe, usually known as God. it is alluding to the creator in the gnostic sense, because they call the creator the demiurge, which is greek for crafstman, architecht, builder, tradesman, or mason etc.
they follow a gnostic worldview, where the creator is at best a stuffed shirt, full of pride and arrogance, and at worst a bloodthirsty demon. in this conception, jesus was sent to free mankind from his oppressive rule. every movie you have ever seen is based on this. if you watch movies with this in mind, you will begin to have a very intuitive understanding of their aims and thought processes.
for instance here is the joker, based off the gnostic "saklas", which is aramaic for "fool". this is where the killer clown archetype comes from. pennywise, jigsaw, and the frightener one even wears a kippah and has a jew nose. there are several gnostic works with this name, like apocryphon of john and hypostasis of the archons, and on the origin of the world. in the apocryphon of john, they say that the demiurge has 3 names; saklas, the fool, yaldabaoth, child of chaos, and samael, the blind god. think of all the movies where the bad guy was out of control nuts (like simon pheonix), blind (tyrell in blade runner), and we already covered clowns.
even seinfeld has this, with the three main men being these 3 figures. kramer is chaotic, george wears glasses and is blind to his faults, and jerry is a comedian/clown. elaine is the shekinah, and newman is the "new man", or "perfect man" of gnosticism, basically a saviour figure. this is why jerry hates him. newman even gives him a blood sacrifice/transfusion in one episode.
