I'll give an example here how this works: how are you going to tell someone like me who has to drive 50 minutes to a nearest COSTCO to do a monthly re-stock of needed goods to drive an electrical vehicle instead of a truck, having to find a (currently non-existent) charging station to charge along the way? How much time would that take to charge? And what would be the energy source to charge EVs? Nuclear? Solar? Wind? That's A LOT more infrastructure to build, and that means A LOT more land grabbing just to build it! Would that really reduce costs when you have to buy 12V lithium-ion batteries that cost an average of $1,000 each for standard 110Ah to replace the old worn ones? There is a whole lot of factors other than this too, that no one is explaining to us. For example: old junction roads are still commonly used out in small town and rural America. Can you factor those costs to adopt such infrastructure changes? Tens of thousands of junction roads all vastly spread out? How long will that take? How much taxpayer money? How much would taxes be increased for average workers to pay for all that? I don't see one iota of evidence coming out that this would even be plausible, but I see tons of rhetoric of how good it will be for us.
