No, the theory is the factional infighting that occurred between the jews got to the point where killing other jews was of no consequence (see burning of the grain supplies during Siege of Jerusalem). Its a historical fact. If that much is true, why not use jewish positions of power, like josephus being lead advisor to Vespasian and Titus, to "fulfill" the prophecies?
