Frankly I think you're a little bit off base getting upset about that kind of ip range banning. Mods can pick out assholes that are outside the rules and delete threads or even deliver bans but the admins look at the bigger picture and when you've got a really stubborn prick that is instantly evading bans by switching IP's or getting new proxies or if you've got some assholes employing industrial level ddos attacks to try to bring the entire website to a halt you have to employ other strategies. That's not an attack on freedom of speech; on the contrary it's the only way to maintain freedom of speech on the internet. There's plenty of people that want to see 4chan and this board destroyed, crushed. They have to be defended. It's unfortunate ranges of IPs have to be blocked but sometimes it's a necessity. Try to think of it not from your own pov but from the admin's point of view.
