He's probably not the same Counterpunch-reading progressive cyber-anarchist (ehh you know what I mean) he presented as 7-8 years ago. "Omg guys war is bad, it hurts people!"
It's almost like a thinking person's worldview evolves over time. I hope he lives to be 150, it should be interesting.

I think he still is pretty much an anarchist, but it's hard to say what his real views are since he depends a lot on other people's support to keep him safe. He can't go around rocking the boat too much and shouting about his own opinions. He has to keep it vague. I think he's probably an ancap and that might be as close to /pol/ as he'll ever get. His tweet about names in parentheses was hilarious for the amount of buttblast it caused but I don't think he meant it as how we know it or did he?
Maybe we'd get a better understanding of his views if we read his books. His "When Google met Wikileaks" book is in the first general thread, I still haven't read it but I read an extract which was pretty good.. According to wikipedia the last book he wrote was "The Wikileaks Files: The World According to the US Empire". Sounds almost red-pill. It's only a small step from that to the belief that all peoples have a right to self determination, including Europeans, and I can't believe he's ignorant to how the AIPAC world government in Washington is detrimental to Europeans.
I may try and find his other books and make this thread an Assange thread.

OK so if anyone is interested in his books I'm going to post them ITT. I hope he doesn't mind. I'd pay for them if I could Julian but I'm just too poorfag, I'm sorry.
He didn't write this book but he did a lot of the research for it.

Amazon review
>Detailed analysis of Google's deeply intertwined relationship with the US government, backed up by Wikileaks documents. Google's do-goody image superficially masks the ambitions of a global mega-corp. it's not just ad revenue and free email that fuel Google. As one example, Assange analyzes the emails between Google co-founder Brin and CEO Schmidt with NSA chief Keth Alexander. (Emails obtained via FOIA). While these chatty emails got some media attention, Assange goes much deeper. Assange's research into the State Dept background and activities of Jared Cohen, director of Google's Ideas, likely reveals where Google's tentacles are grasping next. It's disheartening to read how Google has become a top lobbyist and co-dependent with the government. Would Bill Gates or Steve Jobs have compromised their companies like Eric Schmidt has? This ill-conceived partnership may rot Google from within … even if Google ends up sustained like a military contractor. This book is the kind of outstanding reporting that activists and everyday gmail and Google searchers should read for insights into the how techology companies are evolving with the national security state. Great work, Assange!
I read an extract of this book and thought it was good stuff but I never got round to reading it fully. I remember that (((Jared Cohen))) guy was the one who came out with an app to help Syrian rebels map defections and encourage more people to defect. He was also a Hilary Clinton advisor for a while.

Really? I thought it was only the second time.
I wonder what he himself reads. He must have a lot of reading time couped up in his cell. He's going to be pretty busy soon though if what with all the new documents he's about to release and the Ecuadorian election.

>I think he's probably an ancap and that might be as close to /pol/ as he'll ever get.
This intriguing sentence got me thinking. Has any author ever written about or even recognized the transition from ancap thinking to more hardcore right wing thinking? I know this is rather specific, but I can't help but feel that a realignment in views such as this may characterize the continuously evolving mindset of the hivemind on, mostly, pol. I have heard other anons mention this.

Not to my knowledge, I don't recall any articles he's written or interviews he's done that touched on that. My guess that he's an Ancap appears to be wrong if this interview is anything to go by
h ttps://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2010/11/29/an-interview-with-wikileaks-julian-assange/#f0779a02c27c
He pretty much calls himself a Libertarian who interestingly believes regulations are sometimes necessary from the state. The interview was from 2010 though so that's more than enough time for political beliefs to change. I should know, I used to be Ancap myself.
Your post opened up a can of worms in my brain because I don't actually know how I arrived at my own current beliefs (Fascist, even though I haven't settled on a particular version). Is there even a clear line of thought between Ancap and political theories like Fascism? Ancap is like the far end of the spectrum of individual freedom where as Fascism is not its opposite (communism) but certainly far away. Or is it simply a rejection of one world view in favour of another? My guess would be the latter. There's nothing particularly wrong with Ancap theory but I guess I favour Fascism because it would be a disaster for Europeans/Whites to suddenly dissolve all public property. We'd end up with jewish oligarchy like we already have only it would be on steroids and impossible to ever remove, reigning over broken people that has no sense of self.
