His songwriting's fine, and I actually like his untechnical singing. But naw, the rest is what I meant by "overbearing."

Final Cut was practically a solo album, and then when other members of the band wanted to get back together he was a bitch about it.

I will maintain until my last breath that RHCP is the most overrated band in the history of popular music, and that's primarily because of what a terrible vocalist Anthony Keidis is, not to mention his awful lyrics (DUDE EVERYONE IN THE BAND IS BEST FRIENDS DUDE CALIFORNIA SURE IS GREAT XD) and the stories what an absolute cunt he is backstage (preaching liberal bullshit in his lyrics while it's an open secret he had oceans of groupies in the past, feuding with Mike Patton and having Mr. Bungle thrown off festival gigs in the late 90s, etc).

Imagine having the best band in the world at the same time literally everyone was interested in Michael Jackson. Imagine releasing one of the best albums of 1983, only to immediately follow it up by throwing your band members under the bus and going solo. Imagine your musical style not having evolved at all since the early 90s and instead becoming more pretentious over time. Imagine reuniting after 20 years separated, holding a massively successful series of concerts, and then not releasing a comeback album.

Sting could have been the biggest thing in the world. Instead his ego got to him, and Bono took that place.

Just about every person this guy associated himself with ended up dying or living long enough to become his mortal enemy. Dre sacrificed his career getting him off the ground, and rewarded him for what is now 20 years of mainstream relevance. The only person he ever "helped" in his entire career was 50 Cent, and that was achieved by taking Dre's nearly finished Detox album and have him sing over it, and when his successive albums couldn't match, the dupe was up and he faded into obscurity by the end of the decade.

How he didn't die from an OD in the mid '00s is a complete mystery to me. All these years later and there's a severe karma imbalance that ought to be addressed.
