I think see your problem with my request. It’s the proximity between the viewer and the flayer right? My suggestion is to be a bit liberal with tentacle length as they may be able to stretch, allowing you put some more distance between the viewer and the flayer. Ideally I’d like to see some cleavage, but if it looks too weird don’t do it.

I don't know about the others, but all memes aside, avoid Tumblr or at the very least make it a mirror and not your main. The back end is a disaster. It can completely fuck up image formatting, the UI is so fucked it's de rigueur to use 3rd party software to make it even basically functional, and their archiving/tagging system is a dog's breakfast. That's not even counting the political stuff like the insane community and tyrannical staff. At best you'll likely be put in "safe mode" so only people with Tumblr accounts can view your content. If you wander off the reservation even slightly you'll be shadow banned and ultimately deleted.

You'd honestly be better off just buying some server space and rolling your own webpage.

To give an honest critique:

Cons

-Starting with the eyes, I'm not sure where they're supposed to be looking. Her eyes appear to be aimed in different directions. This could be the heavier shading on the nose side portion of her "left" eye, or it could be the lack of a feature to help show the line of sight she'd be using. It seems like she is staring straight down with her "right" eye, but the shading on her "left" makes it look more like its facing at an angle away.

-You said you wanted to make her more monstrous, so I don't have any complaints about her nose or upper lip design. Rather, I'd like to point out that this is rather close to the line of acceptable/not acceptable with board interests (based on feedback I've seen of other works on this site, so this point is seemingly objective.). Just something to keep in mind for future works.

-I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be looking at a collarbone or cleavage coming out of the neckline of her shirt. If it's cleavage, then she must be wearing one hell of a push up bra. Breasts typically start somewhere around the part where the arm meets the chest (not exactly the armpit, but rather the muscle that connects the two). Based on where the slope of your shoulder are going, her chest should be significantly lower than it is on normal anatomy. They also appear to be squished together, creating a flat crease line between them, and an odd curvature on top. If it's supposed to be a collar bone, then the shadow you have tracing downwards from it doesn't make much sense from this image. Does she have really developed pecs?

-Lastly, her neck seems to balloon into her head on both sides. I can understand the right side, since it follows the curvature of the skull (which might could use more hair there. I don't know what sort of hairstyle she has, so I don't know if she shaved it all off in the back or what.), but the left side should be hidden by the perspective. Of course, that could just be a stray paint line, but as a viewer I cannot know that.

Pros

-Very good handling on light and shadows. It's very easy to tell where features begin and end. I know this can be a challenging aspect to colors without lines, and you did it very well.

-I adore the details on the horns. The little cracks, ridges, and chips stand out without looking messy or confusing.

-Her hair seems well shaded to me, and seems mostly natural in it how it flows. There is a little stiffness in the tuft behind her right ear, and could use a little more touch to it. Overall though, very nice.

-The brush(es) you used is very nice. It allowed for clean detail, but still retains a softness through the whole piece, which makes it easy on the eyes to look at. There will always be a place for this lovely style, especially now with "sharp" vector graphics everywhere in our daily lives. Softer works like this help relax the eye, and are very soothing (for me, anyway). Good job!

Overall, there are issues that need to be touched on, but it's obvious you have worked hard to grow some amazing skills. I'm just not sure this art shows it as much as we would all like.

Based on the previous feedback I will most likely tone done the nose and lips. Maybe keep the nose and lip size and shape, but make them more human as opposed to monstrous?

The neck down was the least thought out part of the sketch as you could imagine. While that's cleavage I tried to take into account of a bra as they would be supporting; however I didn't think through enough where the breasts would lay in relation to the musculature. I certainly didn't plan out the worlds most developed pecs.

Yeah that ballooning is an anatomical error carried over from the sketch I never noticed. The hair style I was aiming for was a more exaggerated short hair style (by fanning out the sides a bit to create a stronger shape). I did have a little bit of the leftside's hair peaking out before, but it didn't seem to read well so I removed it; might not have been a good decision.

I know what you mean; something is off about it. Maybe I should let that lock of hair part so it flows over the ear? How do you guys think it would effect the ear?
