Probably Zone of the Enders 2, the first game wasn't that good but the second one was amazing.

The third game got canned for some reason, I can't remember why.

I'd like it if Konami made more mecha games, but they went off the deep end a while ago so they probably won't.

Gundam Assault Survive

I know a lot of /m/ will probably swear by Gundam Battle Universe, and I admit that I do miss Elle Vianno and South Burning, but its worth it for FLAGS and FREEDOM.

For me the Vs series is a little too arcade and not "flight sim" enough, though I am jealous of the wider variety of series it gets (Master Gundam, Sinanju, Legend, AGE-2 SP, and so on) but GAS has still kept me happy for a few years now (and i STILL haven't saved up enough for the fucking Black Hole Engine or NJC).

The way i see it.

Jehuty, Anubis, Isis (Dolores), Hathor are Supers.

Boss and other "Massproduced" OFs are borderline (IE 00 S1 Gundam, huge techgap makes seem godlike, but not actually reality warping dimension rippers, despite the Metatron), Idolo was way too flawed to really be considered a "Super" for the same reason.

LEVs (Includic Vic Viper) are Reals.

But since the main mechs are Supers, i'd say the franchise is flat out Super, even if ZoE1 was basically the start of Gundam 0079, very drawn out.

You really think so? ACV was a huge flop; AC4 while decently sold had mixed reviews that split the fanbase and Chromehounds was a failure that lost online play almost immediately after launch. Seems silly to throw money at another AC sequel that would inevitably sell badly (in comparison) and only confuse newcomers with the latest in a daunting list of ~20 games when they could instead throw cash at another Souls game that's exactly the same as the last one and yet rack up 10x the money from it.

I guess i should start off by saying you cant actually pilot a robot but you do fight robots. Anyway you could say its a single player mmo but if you are fine with that kind of commands and cooldown combat the game is really good. I could go into every aspect of it talking about how good it is but i don't want to hype you up to much if you decide to play it.

If you do want to pilot robots then you would have to play the wii u one. I havent beaten it because my hard drive broke but if youre worried about shit NoA translation from what ive played its not that bad. The dialog for the most part is alright but and the only voice actor i hated was emmas because how annoyingly breathy she speaks. And lyn is kind of annoying but I think its actually impossible to do the kawaii thing in english and not sound cringy so maybe its not their fault.

Anyway both are good games but i would say the first one is better but since i havent beaten the second i'll reserve total judgement but still give a recomendation.

Frame Gride. It's basically From Software's Virtual-ON with a medieval theme and a bit more simpler customization than Armored Core.

The game didn't age very well, but is pretty cool and fun to play imo.

They made a second game even after the fiasco that was the first one? from what i know after the first few months the community started dying until there was only a small group still playing it. It does look a little better than the first one though, the mechs having an AI is kind of endearing.

At E3 they said the mechs are outright sentient.

I don't know if they have emotions, or why they even need pilots, but it's a neat idea I guess.

The player character's mech is totally gonna die at the end of the game in a hammed-up way. Probably sacrificing itself to save the player.

Making them simply short-circuit by pushing them onto their backs, and power-bombing their helpless selves off the roofs of skyscrapers is just so cathartic, that it's something that really needs to happen more often, in vidya involving mecha of any kind.

Ok /m/, I'm trying to remember the name of a game I played a long time ago

>Late 2000s (circa 2008-2009) MMO

>advertised as having destructible terrain/buildings in higher-level areas

>3rd person, movement was WoW-like, might of had vertical movement via jumping and jetpacking

>Mostly PvE, mech vs mechs and drones, I think it had an open world and travel between planets

>Had hub areas (fortresses et.al.), where the player character (which I believe could be customized) could walk around in outside of his/her mech, shop, barter, ect

>3D, had semi-realistic anime-CGI-style graphics (think Robotech or Destroy Gunners)

>Beginner's region was arid canyonland similar to the middle pic in >>14570 with the fortress visible and a few (industrial? bunker?) buildings scattered throughout

>I think the first questlines had the player fighting some sort of rebellion?

>Is not Mechwarrior Online, and came out long before Hawken and Perpetuum

>Small chance it was Exteel, but from what I can find it doesn't quite line up and wouldn't have made sense to play as I hated NCSOFT even back then

Anyone have any clue what this might be?

Well the reason I ask is because I use Chrome, and while the Google Translate option mostly spits out nonsense, you can piece together a functioning idea what individual suit stats and such are with the Japanese Wiki:

http://gow.swiki.jp/index.php

Technically both are already linked in that old forum guide, but their also specifically for the Japanese version of the game, where as the Taiwan release has some notable differences.

For instance, while Taiwan has the obvious ability to both Factions Suits, they also have a MUCH smaller selection, with only the basic grunt options for each Faction in the shop.

That said, I think all the current Gashacon are technically free-to-play, with the basic GP version in the first tab able to do a Single Prize spin (Left bottom button) for one Ticket (The grey ones with the pictograph of "list"?) at 3,000 GP, but also a Prize Pack Spin (Right Button) for ten Tickets, which only cost 30,000 GP.

These packs are always the option you should choose to use, as they always contain at least one Grey MS Blueprint, but also a bunch of Booster Items.

And speaking of Booster Items, how you actually EQUIP them is by clicking that smaller blue button above the one you hit to choose your Spawn Point on the Spawn Screen.

This brings up a window where you can click on the various Boosters you want to use, which will be locked in for the rest of the match.

An important thing to remember is that, while a single boost item will be consumed for that match once locked in, you can add a boost item from your inventory ANY time you are on the Deployment Screen.

This lets you save your rarer boost, such as the ones that give you extra GP or an extra draw from the prize screen at the end of a match, for when you are certain your team is going to win, as winning also gives you bonuses in those categories.

>Does this mean I'm free to try and make extra powerful zakus and goufs?

Well it only has the basic grunts NOW, I'm hoping they add at least more Grunt types in the future.

Joining a Clan/Guild/Outfit/Platoon allows you to use Clan Points to buy a slightly greater variety of Grunt Suits, as well as unlock an extra "Captured" MS to use both for your Land and Space Decks, but if you've only got 400 GP then you best stick with the suits and blueprints they gave you.

In fact, go to the first tab in your Deck Screen and see if you have anything with a Green band on it.

These are Rental Suits, like those "Captured" MS I mentioned earlier they are high-ish leveled Suits with pre-set loadouts.

They only last for ten matches, but they'll eat up a space in your Mech Garage until then, plus they'll still level you when it comes to Experience on that Suit.

Also, have you gone through ALL the Tutorials yet?

Is there a square button on the bottom of the front page, third from the left?

Click it to get a list of Tutorial Missions like you did with the Jesta.

I kinda fucked up my initial training, so I don't know how many they actually have you do to start out with, but more are unlocked as you rank up.

I've been using a rented gouf and just got a hold of a rented healer zaku who apparently cannot handle space, at all. Also I was kind of tempted to dump all my gold tickets into beefing up my starter zakuII. Lord knows rng is content on rubbing fed mechs in my face all day long.

The last tutorials it let me do were the commander ones. The gook runes made that shit somewhat bewildering. I just unlocked yellow stripe rank so I'll check again at some point.

Got kinda mad when I rolled some dice at that 30k gp thing and the only gold mechs I got were fucking feds. Speaking of, any idea why the TW got rid of zeon vs feds?

 No.15218

>Also I was kind of tempted to dump all my gold tickets into beefing up my starter zakuII.

DON'T!!!

You're Starter Zaku II is a Silver Blueprint, so you can only upgrade it 20 times anyways, so you are better off using the buy-able Silver Mechanic Tickets instead.

I made the mistake of blowing all my Gold Tickets on my Starters as well, and honestly the stat upgrades aren't that noticeable.

What you should look into is unlocking your Zaku II's Weapon Options.

Now, assuming it's the Zaku II F (Heavy Attack) we're talking about, I've got to tell you that you've got a pretty awesome Bazooka right out of the gate.

You probably didn't realize it, the default is the CHARGE Bazooka, meaning you can hold down the trigger to power up the shot.

It will go faster and do more damage, I think you can keep it charged as long as you hold down your fire button, actually firing when you release.

Personally I've had it fire off at random occasionally, but I don't know if that wasn't because my finger slipped off the button or not.

Also, what "Characteristic" does your Zaku have?

Those are those Tem Ray Circuit dealies you see when you examine your loadout and such.

The first and second ones are specifically for Bazookas, the first increases the size of the Explosion, the second increases the amount of Damage they'll do.

The third just makes you reload faster…

I'd also suggest swapping the Cracker Grenade with the unlockable Three Tube Leg Missile Pod.

You will probably need to buy the weapon components to unlock a weapon, and you need to do it in a series for the variations of a particular one, but the first in the series should be able to be unlocked.

Don't let the lock symbols fool you, unless the actual upgrade window has a red warning over it, you should be able to purchase the required components you need.

When you have your Leg Missiles selected, they will auto-lock onto anything within range of their huge reticle after a short time, then track that target down after firing.

They ARE dodge-able, but are usually a sure hit on any opponent not actively taking evasive maneuvers to avoid you.

>The last tutorials it let me do were the commander ones. The gook runes made that shit somewhat bewildering. I just unlocked yellow stripe rank so I'll check again at some point.

Sounds about right, that's where I am and I think your the same Rank as me…

Funny thing about this game, your Military Rank isn't actually progress indicator.

That's covered by a separate numerical rank at the bottom of your screen, under your Piloto Portrait.

Your Military rank in this game is determined by your Win/Loose performance in your last set of seven games, and you can check this via the Second tab of your Piloto Profile.

>Got kinda mad when I rolled some dice at that 30k gp thing and the only gold mechs I got were fucking feds. Speaking of, any idea why the TW got rid of zeon vs feds?

Probably to not split the player base…

Faction divide would mean you would only have half the players to fill a side of a multiplayer match with, and since a non-Japanese market is going to have fewer players that even care about the One Year War…

Personally I don't mind it, as it will allow me to build a Garage of MS with PERFECT SYMMETRY!

Its the bazooka/grenade/machine gun zaku.

Yeah I noticed pretty quick i could charge the bazooka but was dismayed to score some direct hits on what must have been higher level players only to find a fully charged shot bounces off their face plates like a pair of testicles off a car windshield.

Identifying my passive is proving difficult due to gook runes, I see a bunch of 5% which looks like a weapon passive. Pic related.

I've got a pile of these secondary golden tickets that just say ticket rather than master ticket, they have a much higher chance of success vs a 70% failure chance on regular silver tickets for weapon upgrades.

Grabbed the missile pod on your suggestion.

>Its the bazooka/grenade/machine gun zaku.

Well you can alter the order your weapons are equipped in the loadout screen, just equip something you already have on to another's slot.

This helps because weapons have various switch out times, and if you use your mouse wheel like me, that extra five seconds cycling can get you killed.

Which also reminds me, the second button from the top of your suit inspection screen allows you to save your current loadout for switching pre-battle.

You're able to use this in the pre-battle screen by pressing the button in the middle-top on the Left (The one on the right lets you change the suits in your Deck).

This is especially useful for Artillery Suits, as they have several weapon options ranging from Bombardment (The ones where you click on a portion of the map within the red circle, and rain down death from above), Howitzers (lobbing, indirect weapons that aren't particularly useful until you get a targeting Module that tells you where your shots are actually LANDING) and Direct Fire.

It also allows you to NAME said loadouts, allowing you to set your weapons up in an easily identifiable manner.

>Yeah I noticed pretty quick i could charge the bazooka but was dismayed to score some direct hits on what must have been higher level players only to find a fully charged shot bounces off their face plates like a pair of testicles off a car windshield.

Well did your Hit Indicator have an extra purple layer to it?

Those might have been Assault Suit (IE, the Melee ones), some of who comes with hand-held Shields that will tank a certain amount of damage coming from their front as long as they aren't attacking.

These shields can be a pain in the ass mostly because they can double a Suits resistance to being knocked over, so your 'zook is less effective for setting them up.

>Identifying my passive is proving difficult due to gook runes, I see a bunch of 5% which looks like a weapon passive. Pic related.

That's those "Characteristics" I was talking about, and one of the bigger reasons I suggested Page Translating the Moon Wiki.

Looks like you've got Bazooka Blast Expansion on that suit, which makes the explosions from your Zook shots bigger.

This means you should aim for groups of enemies, as your bigger blast will hit more of them, but you've also should avoid firing in close quarters as you'll end up damaging YOURSELF with the blast.

>I've got a pile of these secondary golden tickets that just say ticket rather than master ticket, they have a much higher chance of success vs a 70% failure chance on regular silver tickets for weapon upgrades.

Wait, do they have Moon Runes above "Ticket" and a couple of Melee weapons pictures?

Those are WEAPON Upgrade tickets, and it's not a 70% chance of Failure but REGULAR Success.

See, those percentiles are Great Success (Gold Percentile, you've upgraded the listed number entirely, maybe a bit extra), Regular Success (Green Percentile, you've upgraded a large portion of the listed number) and finally Failure (Grey Percentile), which still actually upgrades the Stat, but only by a small amount

Unlike Mechanic Tickets, Weapon Upgrade Tickets can ONLY be used for Weapon Upgrading and can never actually fail, but the Yellow (Regular) and Gold (Super) versions can only be won as prizes so you want to use them wisely.

Mechanic Tickets progressively gain a chance for Failure, but since the Silver versions are the only Ticket you can buy for GP, you can always buy more.

Again I'm going to stress the importance Page Translating the Gook Wiki, as that will not only give you an idea of what various Weapons' Stats are, but also what Stats you are actually UPGRADING.

The English Wiki can give you an idea what the particular stats actually DO, but since it's so sparse on individual MS info you'll need the Gook Wiki to get an idea of what is what.

For example, remember those different Artillery Weapons I mentioned earlier?

The Bombardment Type has several variations for longer base range, larger base blast effects, stronger base damage, and most importantly a huge NUMBER of shots per volley, which unlike the others is a stat you CANNOT upgrade or modify.

On top of ALL that, ALL the Cannon-type (Bombardment, Howitzer, Direct Fire) weapons for a suit use the SAME DAMN ICON, which really sucks because the Direct Fire type can have a separate variation that shoots Incendiary rounds that light shit on fire!

>Grabbed the missile pod on your suggestion.

After clicking around I found another random fucking gashacan turn table gambling window separate from the others running off of some item I can't identify, and a second screen that seems to demand a bunch of varied items including gold tickets to take a spin on.

Oh no, that's the Exchange, you don't spin for anything, you trade a certain number of a particular item for a certain thing.

For instance, those White Tickets with a Present on them are for the first one and you get those by completing certain objectives.

The Haro Coins you get for every DX Gashacan spin you make.

The final Pink "seasonal" Tickets are something you can get as an after match prize.

What you need to expand your MS Garage are the blue Garage Tickets, which you can get from this exchange, (I THINK) from the Gashacan, and for reaching a particular rank.

That last one is a pain, however, as they only give you 5 of the TEN Tickets you need for an additional MS space.

To add a space, go to your Blueprint or Garage tabs, then click on the grey button next to the fraction of MS/Spaces you have.

At the top of this window, there should be a grey bar with a number at the end; This is how many Garage Tickets you have.

For every ten, you can add another space.

You can of course also buy spaces with Gook Coins, but yeah…

>I cannot into melee at all, I can't even say its gooklag, that shit is infuriatingly clunky.

I hear you…

I think the biggest thing is having to learn all the unique Melee hitboxes; Every melee weapon seems to have their own swing and thrust patterns that you can only find on the Jap wiki, and half the time you can't make heads or tails of the translated description.

Get you some Mechwarrior 3 or 4, you can find packs of the games out there somewhere. I preferred 3 over 4 but 3 won't run on my Windows 7 machine which is apparently not a common issue. Classic tabletop BT can be emulated and computerized on PC via Megamek but it's probably the most obtuse and difficult to learn tabletop wargame still in production. If you still want to try then get the latest copy of Total Warfare and Maximum Tech if you can find it. Cuckchan's /btg/ on /tg/ should have a Mediafire or similar link of PDF sources to help you find one. There are other cool games too like MW:LL but that's multiplayer only so you won't be getting a full experience.

Use laser guns since they don't have an ammo cost.

Use lighter mechs since repair costs is a value based on overall AP lost multiplied by defense. This means a heavy mech losing a little bit of AP can cost more to repair than a light mech that lost almost all of it. This applies very much so to AC4/4A.

If you're playing Pre AC4 games then look around for parts laying around on missions, usually in hidden spots or in destroyable stuff.

Play the arena, those give you cash and most games don't have you lose money if you lose an arena.

The White Glints in Armored Core 4 and For Answer are actually different machines. There is an AC called White Glint in Armored Core 4 piloted by Joshua O'Brien, however it uses standardized parts such as the Hogire head or Salaf core. Another iteration of White Glint appears in Armored Core For Answer, this incarnation being it's now iconic deign. It's equipped with completely unique parts simply called White Glint, this machine is piloted by the protagonist of Armored Core 4 in honour of his fallen friend Joshua.

Just a heads up you won't be able to get White Glints parts until your second run through. This is because in your first playthrough your forced to fight White Glint, completing that mission nets you his weapons, the ANNR and ANAR rifles and Saline micro missiles. Beating the game once unlocks two extra paths/endings. One of these paths entails helping, instead of fighting White Glint. Helping White Glint nets you his frame, the White Glint head, core, arms and legs.

On one last kinda trivia note, a third variant of White Glint actually shows up in another game as the final boss. This one, being a poor mans NEXT, has neither the speed or fire power of it's For Answer. This iteration goes by the name NGWIX/v

Remember how the Taiwan Server doesn't have IP Address Region Lock?

After having spent some time with gundam breaker I don't think I'll be looking at the series again. I love the whole build your own mech thing but the core gameplay is boring and pretty much the same no matter what you built. Missions are also getting longer and longer while not really providing me with anything new to do. I also don't care for all the COMBINE PARTS FOR A 0.01% INCREASE IN BOOTY nonsense, which is a real shame because they also do it right with adding parts also giving you access to extra attacks. I could do without the stat micromanagement and more of the unique feature sets.

I'm in Iowa with a meh to decent connection and don't have many problems…

>I'll play JP till then, the ranking system is ass and I've deranked from early-mid gold to fucking bronze because Zeon can't do shit

Eh, it's not perfect, but it's better than the old "Rank change is determined solely by the W/L of your last 7 matches" system…

With this system, as long as you did DECENTLY, losses won't drag you down as bad…

Biggest issue is that the big points are earned for offense, so the game is mostly rewarding suicide rocket tag rushing to deplete the other teams' Force Gauge faster then they can yours, thus only a few natural turtles like me will actually do anything for DEFENSE.

Combined with the above disparity between Offensive and Defensive scoring, everyone else goes on the Attack turning the whole match into a race to nuke the other guys first, and with Supports generally lacking killing power in the first place makes defending a futile effort.

Hopefully the increase in Killstreak bonuses helps level this out a bit more, suicide JII O Rushers generally focus only on the Base Objectives and thus are only good en-mass, and now that we've got the Thunderbolt GM on TW I'm hoping to up my Turtle game with it.

You /m/en probably heard of cosmic break? Pretty good mecha game with mechs and (the bad part) girls with mech weaponry. There are also a bit of pure mecha girls.

Servers are not too dead (usually around 300 unique people playing per week), robots range from silly looking mechlets to great sleek piloting material, customization of bots is decent and free, mechanic is interesting and the controls are limited, but simple. The worst part is its gacha, where for basic currency you usually get a mecha 1 out of 50 spins, and for donation currency (that you somewhat can farm, or buy 50 pieces with usual currency per month).

It's got a fantastic selection of MS even if some of them are pretty gimped with only two fairly weak moves to their names. If I treat it like a small skirmish game than it seems to be right on the money as it really doesn't offer anything on the story front. The list of 'master' characters you can start with is pretty intense and there's a lot of good options. Seeing as how I didn't know too much about the games mechanics I went with Sechs in the Tallgeese for the free captures.

What people call "best" seems to depend on taste, though I do know 3rd gen (3-LR) is most popular. Personally I go by what's more satisfying to play: 1st>=4th>2nd>5th>=3rd.

1st Gen:

Has a nice mix of grounded yet arcadey feel to the mechs. They are quite floaty, but the combination of movement speed + the roughness of control due to age + the shorter lasting AP really gives the sense that you're using a screaming metal death trap that only works cause you know how to use it. Also, as a result of being PS1 games, they have nice crunchy PS1 sound effects, unironically making these ACs the most satisfying out of the PS1 to PS2 era of games.

2nd Gen:

A watered down Gen1. Adds an inconsequential heat gauge and Overed Boost to compensate for the reduced speed from Gen1. Lowered speed is a bit disappointing but the sense of weight is still okay thanks to the increased drop speed and somewhat reduced midair control. Outside of OB, most sounds seem to come from the PS1 title, but without enhancements so they're actually kind of unsatisfying compared to the 1st, but the OB sound is perfect. I'll also just add here that they've never fucked up the OB sound in any of the gens. AC2 itself has the best/ most tightly structured story of all the AC games.

3rd Gen:

The gen with the most aggressive attempts at balancing, but also the most boring. 3/SL still have some balancing holes, but NX/LR plug them eventually. Attempts to make heat more important in 3/SL fall flat, but NX/LR go a bit overboard trying to correct it. The increase in sensitivity, and energy drain on OH are good, but having your booster affect heat gain is redundant since the Energy Gauge already exists for limiting boosting. Hell, if they dropped Booster heat then they could make it so that there wouldn't be builds that could outright eliminate the heat mechanic. 3rd gen also features new sound effects that are also the worst in the series. Outside of boosting, OB, blades, grenades/certain cannons, KRSW lvl lasers, weapons sound like ass, ACs have an awful "trash can" like sound for running/dropping. 3rd gen is also the 2nd most floaty gen in the series (1st gen taking top). It's not as bad in 3/SL as those ACs drop a bit faster and the pull back of the camera at high speeds in more exaggerated than in NX/LR, but overall ACs feel downright weightless a lot of the time and that lack of weight actually provides very little satisfaction at high speeds unless you make an ultra light. That and heavies just feel slow rather than heavy. This is worse in NX/LR because the drop speed is reduced from before, the camera is closer in and has reduced pull back at top speed, and in NX turn & boost speed is heavily reduced so it feels like you're boosting through molasses, but LR does fix the last two from NX. 3rd gen also has the least interesting stories, but LR is just fucking retarded. It can be summed up as "Jack O fucked up everything and you become the Last Raven by cleaning up his mess", though I do dig how 1 or 2 routes have

you become the Last Raven just by pure happenstance, rather than that bullshit "MUH DOMINANTS" that Jack O spewed to justify his retarded method to have others clean up the mess he made. Best overall AC part designs in the series.

I'll cover 4th and 5th gen later, when I have the time.

I forgot to add to 3rd gen:

Being the most recent PS2 entries, they're the most polished entries, but that polish works against them since there is nothing to compensate for the floaty feeling of the ACs, and the tighter controls just make the whole thing feel yawn inducing. To put it another way, the roughness that came from Gen 1's age gave ACs a wild feeling that made me wish I could use one in real life, even while playing dual analog on an emulator. Driving my car everyday is more exciting than using a Gen 3 AC. And Ambien is more stimulating than NX ACs.

Apparently BaMco decided to "aim for the western audience", so they made NGB a moba-like (matches have a certain time-limit; respawns; you need to level up your inner frame before you can use skills) 3vs3 only grindfest (after completeing the story you get enough money to buy 4-6 parts) with a crappy VN in it (different routes for different girls with shit taste in Gunpla, routes' stages are the same in everything but the girls that support you in battle).

Also the crappy "lose parts -> get other crappy parts in the field" and "skills are tied to parts, fuck your customization, if you want your Gunpla to be effective then get ready for it to be an el abomination" nuances.

That was the most hardcore monkey's paw I ever saw. The devs knew what they were doing and they wanted it to flop. It was already dead on arrival.

What an utter shitshow. This is turning like the PS3's UE3 period except now it's worse since Bamco hogging all of it instead of AAA western morons for FPS and other crappy games.

It's the self fullfilling prophesy at this point where Bamco intentionally gives out the worst Gundam games to the west or creates the absolute worst ones of them specifically for them to come over and go "the west doesn't like our super fighting robots, kthxbye".

At this point fuck Bamco; not so much for pulling a stunt like that to not bring games to the west anymore but because they sacrifice good franchises like this and Versus to pull this stunt and fuck with everyone involved.

The only thing that's still active I can think of is either asian servers of C21 or English ones of Cosmic Break. The latter is basically a gachacancer grindfest where the top robots are mecha musume, and the actual robots are underpowered mechlets. I'm not sure about the C21 but I think it's now the same minus the mecha musume waifufaggotry.

CB has 4 robot types/classes: ground (fast on ground and good at close/medium distances, speciality weapons: melee; effective against artillery), artillery (slow on ground, fly for a short duration of time, strong firepower for medium/long ranges, speciality weapons: explosives; effective against air units), air (about average speed on ground, fast in air and can fly for longer periods of time than any other class, excels at medium and sometumes long range combat, speciality weapons: lasers; effective against ground units), support (no weaknesses or strong points, these just heal).

When you get enough money and parts you can do really interesting mechanical abominations or simply cool mechs. Some arm parts feature punch barrages and rocket punches. Though the balancing makes sure that only top gacha robots are effective.

Also you can modify parts' textures and polygon models. Some people just make the mecha musumes nude with this, though.

If you decide to play it then play PvE only. The PvP is just plain cancer. You will disappoint yourself if you try to seek fun in its PvP.

Also the devs copied some mech designs. I swear I saw at least two different Alteisens in the game.

I think the game is seriously wasted potential, the customization system is top notch, the music is really good (also the game features a cool music maker) and the whole game gives out that decievingly comfy and nostalgic vibe, yet everything is just ruined by devs that make new meta with new waifubots from gacha every few months, and autists who spend time and probably money on this.

The game's engine barely holds itself as overpowered bots move at servercrashing speeds while summoning hundreds of models and effects during their vicious autistic battles.

C21 was more PvE focused so it contained less cancer. At least that's how I remember it before its English servers closed.

C21 and CB remind me of Megaman Legends, because if cool lowpoly models with rather plain but good looking textures.

You guys played Real Robot Regiment?

Basically this PS2 gem is a 4-robot-PVE SRW beat 'em up. I accidentally found out about it yesterday and came buckets and loved playing it.

It features lots of Super and Real Robots from different shows and two original characters - female protagonist and male antagonist.

Female protag's mech looks like a wild mix of Alteisen, Weissritter and Grungust. Vid related is the robot and its pilot's theme.

The gameplay - you choose a team, up to 4 mechs from 20 (there are some unlockable ones - look up on GameFAQ), and beat the shit out everything that gets in your way. You pilot 1 robot but you can switch to others midbattle. Also the theme of the robot you pilot will be playing unless you are fighting a boss.

You can do stuff like dodging (L2), using mid-range (square), long-range (triangle) (holding down may result for energy-draining strong attacks like for Dancougar or Nu-Gundam) and melee (circle) attacks. Holding any of these buttons, mashing them or doing that after initial attack gives different atracks for different robots, e.g. hold square or circle on Mazinger Z to fire an iron cutter instead of a Rocket Punch, or press those buttons while the Rocket Punch/Iron Cutter has not returned yet to fire a barrage of Drill Missiles. Cross is for blocking, L1 is the special attack (requires full Will/Energy meter), R2 is to call allies to assume a firing formation, uses 20 Energy/Will (each robot has its own type of formation for allies), R1 is to switch to the closest ally on screen. Also you can't strafe. Lock-on is automatic. And you can only face/aim with the left stick that is used for movement.

The only bad sides of the game I can think of, aside from the lack of strafing and more playable robots, are that you can't change Getter Robo/Dragon's forms (even though all the pilots are present and their evasion action is Open Get), and it looks like there is no way to use a Breast Fire/Burn for the Mazinger/Great. Also the latter don't have their Scranders.

It also has a story mode but since I don't know Nipponese and don't want to spoiler I can't say much. You can choose your plot route like in an aberage SRW game, 2 times if I remember correctly. It's somewhat difficult, especially at the latter parts. Also you can't choose more than 1 robot with the same pilot/s.

If you are playing and you got to the tough parts then here's some advice: save special attacks for the bossee or very tough grunts/packs of grunts, block more, switch when the blue gauge near the green health gauge is depleted, try all the robots and have 2 with special AoE attacks and 2 with focused special attacks in your team. Some boss battles have grunts that may drop healthpacks. Kill these. Also blocking is really effective, especially for Super Robots, especially for the ones that have long blue meters right next to the green ones, like Raideen, Combattler V and Daimos.

Also the game has other modes beside the story mode, 3 are unlockable (lurk in GameFAQ)

I really enjoyed it and I hope you anons will try it out.

It was released by sega in the late 90s as "10six", then cancelled by microsoft a few years later. The playerbase bought the license for the code from microsoft and rereleased it as "Planet Visitor". I believe it is still online and getting semi-regular updates.

Is there a thorough mech game list I've been passing by for years? Of all the game genres and content I've searched for, mech stuff seems so difficult to find considering the popularity…

Also, Gungriffon Blaze was my first, and Front Mission 4 is my favorite. Can't wait for Metal Wolf Chaos though.

I don't care for the SD, but it looks good for an indie game.

Rather than going individually by game, I'd go with consoles as to which console is the most /m/ for me :

For portables, PSP trumps everything. It just utterly shits on every other portable before and after it with things like the Gundam games it received, the Macross masterpieces it had, Great Battle Full Blast, three of the best Super Robot Wars games and even then, it kept going with its /m/ leanings once Phantasy Star arrived.

For home consoles, it's a tie between PS2 and PS3. PS2 has quite the bulk of games that can easily be /m/ classics but the PS3 seems like the last bombastic outting for the mechas before slowly dying a whimpering death, leaving Banpresto all alone again.

They also have a demo on the kickstarter page. The gameplay and customization seemed alright for a demo, though I doubt the gameplay will get much better once the game is finished.

Still better than Left Alive, though.

Not gonna lie man, I was somewhat stocked when I was watching it but when 0:54 hit, my rod became the titanium rod, my tronium engine went beyond overdrive. It was like a fucking dream came true and the music, even if it was the most standard 80s action cartoon shred intro, just made it that much more awesome somehow. Then Pozzard decided to shit all over that glorious trailer and make vid related :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJkABoGZB-g

If the first trailer looked like the greatest Japanese-American collaboration ever since Transformers and Mighty Orbots, this new one looks like some leftover chinks and koreans tried to copy the first one by using whatever leftover frames the studio didn't use and put it in their shit game. You know, like that "not-Char is a space pirate" korean anime.I feel empty knowing the closest thing to a good mecha game or anime as of late is the Trails of Cold Steel from Falcom, that is basically their Persona with some mechs rarely spliced in instead of the Xenogears.

Also, taking those sweet Faiz trips.
