I wish I was you. I wouldn't be disappointed then.

Apparently BaMco decided to "aim for the western audience", so they made NGB a moba-like (matches have a certain time-limit; respawns; you need to level up your inner frame before you can use skills) 3vs3 only grindfest (after completeing the story you get enough money to buy 4-6 parts) with a crappy VN in it (different routes for different girls with shit taste in Gunpla, routes' stages are the same in everything but the girls that support you in battle).

Also the crappy "lose parts -> get other crappy parts in the field" and "skills are tied to parts, fuck your customization, if you want your Gunpla to be effective then get ready for it to be an el abomination" nuances.

That was the most hardcore monkey's paw I ever saw. The devs knew what they were doing and they wanted it to flop. It was already dead on arrival.

What an utter shitshow. This is turning like the PS3's UE3 period except now it's worse since Bamco hogging all of it instead of AAA western morons for FPS and other crappy games.

It's the self fullfilling prophesy at this point where Bamco intentionally gives out the worst Gundam games to the west or creates the absolute worst ones of them specifically for them to come over and go "the west doesn't like our super fighting robots, kthxbye".

At this point fuck Bamco; not so much for pulling a stunt like that to not bring games to the west anymore but because they sacrifice good franchises like this and Versus to pull this stunt and fuck with everyone involved.

other than that exceptional period from Rise From The Ashes on the DC through the early PS3 era the USA has always been very spotty on robot game releases

you'll get the outlying freaks like when Mazin Saga came out on the Genesis, but "mecha license game gets a good USA release" has been the exception more than the rule

The only thing that's still active I can think of is either asian servers of C21 or English ones of Cosmic Break. The latter is basically a gachacancer grindfest where the top robots are mecha musume, and the actual robots are underpowered mechlets. I'm not sure about the C21 but I think it's now the same minus the mecha musume waifufaggotry.

CB has 4 robot types/classes: ground (fast on ground and good at close/medium distances, speciality weapons: melee; effective against artillery), artillery (slow on ground, fly for a short duration of time, strong firepower for medium/long ranges, speciality weapons: explosives; effective against air units), air (about average speed on ground, fast in air and can fly for longer periods of time than any other class, excels at medium and sometumes long range combat, speciality weapons: lasers; effective against ground units), support (no weaknesses or strong points, these just heal).

When you get enough money and parts you can do really interesting mechanical abominations or simply cool mechs. Some arm parts feature punch barrages and rocket punches. Though the balancing makes sure that only top gacha robots are effective.

Also you can modify parts' textures and polygon models. Some people just make the mecha musumes nude with this, though.

If you decide to play it then play PvE only. The PvP is just plain cancer. You will disappoint yourself if you try to seek fun in its PvP.

Also the devs copied some mech designs. I swear I saw at least two different Alteisens in the game.

I think the game is seriously wasted potential, the customization system is top notch, the music is really good (also the game features a cool music maker) and the whole game gives out that decievingly comfy and nostalgic vibe, yet everything is just ruined by devs that make new meta with new waifubots from gacha every few months, and autists who spend time and probably money on this.

The game's engine barely holds itself as overpowered bots move at servercrashing speeds while summoning hundreds of models and effects during their vicious autistic battles.

C21 was more PvE focused so it contained less cancer. At least that's how I remember it before its English servers closed.

C21 and CB remind me of Megaman Legends, because if cool lowpoly models with rather plain but good looking textures.

You know what could be even better? If all the robot masters were super robots. That would explain why they are so resistant to your standard weapon head vulcans and why they do so much damage to you. They're pretty fun but a lot of the battles will feel samey a tad. I suggest the original on n64 or if for whatever reason you can't; go for the gamecube one yes I know i'm super slow af with the response sry

>>19612

Where to even begin

>no dash canceling (prob the biggest sin)

>ex-abilities are tied to parts rather than seperate

>lack of builder parts

>from what I heard & saw, move options are much more limited (no do not let the extended boosting fool you)

>parts are much more limited rather than being able to buy full on kits

tl;dr GB3 and even 2 are better and if you're ever going to continue a series; try not to be an asshole like Bamco and just ditch the entire original dev team for a bunch of hacks

You guys played Real Robot Regiment?

Basically this PS2 gem is a 4-robot-PVE SRW beat 'em up. I accidentally found out about it yesterday and came buckets and loved playing it.

It features lots of Super and Real Robots from different shows and two original characters - female protagonist and male antagonist.

Female protag's mech looks like a wild mix of Alteisen, Weissritter and Grungust. Vid related is the robot and its pilot's theme.

The gameplay - you choose a team, up to 4 mechs from 20 (there are some unlockable ones - look up on GameFAQ), and beat the shit out everything that gets in your way. You pilot 1 robot but you can switch to others midbattle. Also the theme of the robot you pilot will be playing unless you are fighting a boss.

You can do stuff like dodging (L2), using mid-range (square), long-range (triangle) (holding down may result for energy-draining strong attacks like for Dancougar or Nu-Gundam) and melee (circle) attacks. Holding any of these buttons, mashing them or doing that after initial attack gives different atracks for different robots, e.g. hold square or circle on Mazinger Z to fire an iron cutter instead of a Rocket Punch, or press those buttons while the Rocket Punch/Iron Cutter has not returned yet to fire a barrage of Drill Missiles. Cross is for blocking, L1 is the special attack (requires full Will/Energy meter), R2 is to call allies to assume a firing formation, uses 20 Energy/Will (each robot has its own type of formation for allies), R1 is to switch to the closest ally on screen. Also you can't strafe. Lock-on is automatic. And you can only face/aim with the left stick that is used for movement.

The only bad sides of the game I can think of, aside from the lack of strafing and more playable robots, are that you can't change Getter Robo/Dragon's forms (even though all the pilots are present and their evasion action is Open Get), and it looks like there is no way to use a Breast Fire/Burn for the Mazinger/Great. Also the latter don't have their Scranders.

It also has a story mode but since I don't know Nipponese and don't want to spoiler I can't say much. You can choose your plot route like in an aberage SRW game, 2 times if I remember correctly. It's somewhat difficult, especially at the latter parts. Also you can't choose more than 1 robot with the same pilot/s.

If you are playing and you got to the tough parts then here's some advice: save special attacks for the bossee or very tough grunts/packs of grunts, block more, switch when the blue gauge near the green health gauge is depleted, try all the robots and have 2 with special AoE attacks and 2 with focused special attacks in your team. Some boss battles have grunts that may drop healthpacks. Kill these. Also blocking is really effective, especially for Super Robots, especially for the ones that have long blue meters right next to the green ones, like Raideen, Combattler V and Daimos.

Also the game has other modes beside the story mode, 3 are unlockable (lurk in GameFAQ)

I really enjoyed it and I hope you anons will try it out.

Rather than going individually by game, I'd go with consoles as to which console is the most /m/ for me :

For portables, PSP trumps everything. It just utterly shits on every other portable before and after it with things like the Gundam games it received, the Macross masterpieces it had, Great Battle Full Blast, three of the best Super Robot Wars games and even then, it kept going with its /m/ leanings once Phantasy Star arrived.

For home consoles, it's a tie between PS2 and PS3. PS2 has quite the bulk of games that can easily be /m/ classics but the PS3 seems like the last bombastic outting for the mechas before slowly dying a whimpering death, leaving Banpresto all alone again.

Not gonna lie man, I was somewhat stocked when I was watching it but when 0:54 hit, my rod became the titanium rod, my tronium engine went beyond overdrive. It was like a fucking dream came true and the music, even if it was the most standard 80s action cartoon shred intro, just made it that much more awesome somehow. Then Pozzard decided to shit all over that glorious trailer and make vid related :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJkABoGZB-g

If the first trailer looked like the greatest Japanese-American collaboration ever since Transformers and Mighty Orbots, this new one looks like some leftover chinks and koreans tried to copy the first one by using whatever leftover frames the studio didn't use and put it in their shit game. You know, like that "not-Char is a space pirate" korean anime.I feel empty knowing the closest thing to a good mecha game or anime as of late is the Trails of Cold Steel from Falcom, that is basically their Persona with some mechs rarely spliced in instead of the Xenogears.

Also, taking those sweet Faiz trips.
