Democracy really just means mob rule, and since the mob is a bunch of lemmings swayed by media and academics, all of whom are easily bought, democracy actually just means oligarchy, eventually.
The correct alternative is strong, centralized, Christian monarchy: monarch power is restrained by Christian morality system as well as being answerable to both the People and God, with none of the tomfoolery that goes on with diversified branches of government. Basically, God is the ultimate benevolent patriarch, and the monarch is expected to, likewise, be a benevolent patriarch to his "tribe" (nation). Heirs are raised from birth to be skilled in the various aspects of leading a people, so you don't have complete idiots with no experience stepping in every four or eight years.
The slightly less ideal choice would be ethnonationalism. Sucks for anyone not a part of said nation via birth and culture, but there is a unity there which is certainly admirable.
Multiculturalism has failed time and again. Diversity + proximity = war. Strong fences make for good neighbors, etc.
If you really can't shake your feelings of altruism, then propertarianism is a feasible option: democratic rule, but extremely limited government, and the franchise is limited only to male property owners in good standing, because history has also shown that when women gain power and influence over people, everything goes to shit.
All of these options require a strong, patriarchal/male dominated sense of order and control. Women are not biologically designed for rulership over anything of greater scope than extended family. The motherly instinct is a beautiful thing, but only when applied to her direct family. It becomes outrageously destructive to a nation when it extends beyond that.
TL;DR: Patriarchy.
