Has anyone here successfully set up RS on Mac OS X and used it to successfully download a file? I've tried a few times and can never get it to connect to UPnP / get green lights on NAT / DHT.

I'm reasonably savvy re networking, and have read the obvious troubleshooting stuff you'd find googling the problem and so-on. I've been able to get it running emulated without a problem.

I'm just curious: has anyone here got it working on their mac install and actually used it to download a file?

got it working – but it's very hit and miss. Make sure you follow the install infos for brew. Im on 0.6.3 on 10.13.6 to be exact.

The green light do not work on osx.

If you get it working emulated (I did too :-) ) might continue using it like that because the UI is not working well on OSX. Don't know about newer versions though…

Its only stable if you go to the forums tab if you're not active in the UI.

Initially yes - was pot luck getting it to work, didn't ever understand what I was doing. Got the green lights most of the time, but only ever had 20 friends despite being on there 8 months. Was still able to download plenty of files though. But, half of my friends couldn't see my files, so I started over but couldn't get it to work a second time and now I'm out of the game. Going to try it on Linux next.

I could only get build 0.6.0.RC2 to work on the Mac, there is an 0.6.5 build available which it seems allows normal internet and Tor to work in the same installation, but the build is borked and never appears as 0.6.5, just 0.6.0 again, other people have had the same issue. I was hoping the new build was going to solve my problems.

Keep trying, there's loads of hypno on there you'd never see anywhere else.

Also, careful placement of the bdboot.txt file was important for me - initially the green lights were red and couldn't connect to anything, had heard of the bdboot file but wasnt aware of its importance. There wasn't one included when I installed initially - took a while to find one on the web, then put it in various folders till the red lights went green, was ok after that.

It didn't work for me at first but after replacing the bdboot.txt file and fucking with it a bit it works fine
