Newfag here. Is there an info dump or .pdf library where I can learn about basic internet technology and safe etiquette?

How the internet works, how VPNs work, potential dangers of being traced, setting up a safe network, theory of internet technology etc.

Maybe even how to program these yourself?

Much appreciated and thanks in advance.

Search shit on searx.me, get pdfs and ebooks on Libgen, learn programming basics on SoloLearn, or the billion other guides out there.

Thanks. What is searx exactly? I've never seen it mentioned before.

Some other questions, if that's alright:

1. What's the safest internet browser to use?

2. What programming language would be advisable to start with? Considering internet security, but also programs, bots etc.

3. Any general tips?

> wut is searx?

Open source search engine. Supports Google, Bing, Duckduckgo, Startpage, Archive.is, ThePirateBay and countless others, without giving your info to these websites. You can use a public instance or host it yourself.

> saef web browse?

Firefox. Although everyone else will suggest you to use forks and such, they're often not as secure vulnerability wise. Besides, most of the telemetry Mozilla implements can easily be mitigated with a custom user.js file, along with privacy settings.

>start programming?

Start with Python, the slow but easy to learn language. Then move on to C++ when you get familiar with the basics.

>tips pls?

Search your questions. I know it sounds cliche, but it answers alot of them.

That's really helpful, thanks anon. I'd consider myself a veteran technology user among most people, but looking through threads here humbled me. It feels like being a toddler in a university. And before you or anyone else asks; yes, my intentions are legal. I just don't like being spied upon.

Asking here is a horrible idea. You will only get meme tier advice like "learn to program" , "install gentoo", and learn electronics.

You are asking information technology questions. You should probably study information technology, as opposed to programming, or electronics. If you know absolutely nothing CompTIA maintains some entry level IT certifications, or test material and objectives, on information technology , that might be a good place to start. You could consider CompTIA A+, NET+, SEC+. You don't have to take the tests, but could, but you would learn a lot systematically by doing this about computers, computer repair, networking and security.

Hopefully, after reading the SEC+ book, you will realizing why asking unqualified questions like "What is the most secure browser" is non-sense.
