I think soon we will need wine 4.0 for Windows to run direct 12 on Windows 7
Anyways I have tried Linux
Don't like that is so based on Unix
Doesn't support reading fat32
I mean what's the bloody point if it's so far away from Windows
What freaking benefit I get from begin so limited
And sir wine isn't perfect

Drivers.
Can't duplex print on my Brother laser printer in Linux.
No FreeSync support til recently.
Can't configure gaymen mice without Razer/Logitech/etc gaymen software.
PdaNet+ doesnt support Linux, and TMobile can tell when I use EasyTether.
Also, there's no easy way to save program installers on Linux. I have an external drive full of GoG installers, pirated games, portable apps, etc.
Most of these issues are very slowly being fixed, but for now I'm using Windows 8.1. I will switch to Xubuntu when I need a faster computer. Coffee Lake and GTX 16XX will probably be the last hardwareto get Win8.1 drivers.
I like Linux, my current hardware just works better with Windows. I'd use Linux right now if I had cable internet, a printer with real Linux drivers, AMD orIntel graphics, and a non Gaymen mouse. The internet is the biggest issue for me

The only thing keeping Windows alive for casual everyday use is games, and everyone knows this.
90% of people who use computers don't really care about anything else.

Proprietary software like Photoshop, Dreamweaver. I suggest FrontPage was the best WYSIWYG edit when in its day. Linux still has fuck all WYSIWYG editors. Not that anyone needs one really but they are nice for doing layout visually instead of inspecting lines of markup. There are very few SEO tools that work with Linux.
All of the before mentioned is why web designers use Windows or Mac. If you are just coding php in notepod it doesn't really matter. But most web designers are concerned with page layout and making it pretty.
Computer games, yeah, I was a playing video games when arcade games were the best thing going. Keyboard verus joystick or even console joypad. I just could never get into playing games on a computer except Oregon Trail, Oregon Trail is bad ass. A friend of mine played games like hack on a "portable" computer.
You hear some noises in the distance.

I could never see that point in computer games when there was already shit like NES and Genesis out.
That all being said. I switched to Linux completely in 2012 and I only use Windows I have to fix driver, printer, or networking issues for people who think Microsoft Office is a computer skill.
